Biden asks Congress for more than $13 billion to support Ukraine and $12 billion for disaster fund
You read it here. Joe wants $12 billion to help Americans recover from the loss of their homes; but then he wants to throw more than $13 billion into the Ukrainian black hole. See, it's really important (note that I did not say to whom) that Ukraine receive "superweapons" from the West so that Russia can bomb them into rubble.
Here's a thoughtful demand: $25 billion for America, peace for Ukraine. You can do it, Republicans!

Or so says Democratic Party mouthpiece CNBC, precisely the last people you'd expect to admit such a thing. Even worse, you've got HUD saying there's more than half a million unhoused people in the US. But Joe Biden has a solution, folks -- have Congress shove a few billion dollars worth of soon-to-be bombed equipment down his favorite black hole!

It's entirely possible to live paycheck to paycheck making mid six digits. There are no income restrictions on being stupid. I'm convinced most people have zero money sense.

to be stepping up. She is nominally Republican - flipped the seat from D in 2022, but has to all appearances gone full RINO - silent on Covid/vax disaster, weaponization of DOJ against political opponents, censorship, etc., etc.
When I tried contacting her about her vote in support of mandatory e-Verify I eventually got a response saying she was studying the issue. Has voted every time for $$ for Ukraine, voted against requiring airlines to re-instate pilots forced out over vax requirements...
Twitter commenter that characterized her as a 'Uni-party sellout' was not wrong.
Keep hoping for a credible primary challenger, for that matter hoping for a 'Kennedy' Democrat to challenge her likely opponent in the general...
All that said, it sure looks at this point that what there is in the way of a peace faction in congress is pretty much all R at this point - D's having thrown the likes of Dennis Kucinich, Cynthia McKinney, Jim Webb or Tulsi - who might have stood up to the insanity - under the bus long ago.
Large portions of America could go Republican in 2024
-- since, as you point out -- the "peace faction" in Congress is almost entirely (R) at this point in time. At some later point people will be pretty desperate to get the government to stop feeding the Ukraine black hole. All the Republicans need to do is to point out that the US is not "helping" Ukraine, and all of the lavish Ukraine spending serves to create a massive death toll, 89% of it Ukranian, and more excuses for Russia to wipe out whatever is left of Ukraine's military capacity. (Meanwhile de-dollarization has accelerated and the Russian economy is now bigger than the German one.)
It's anyone's guess as to whether the Republicans are bright enough to receive and to use this gift the Democrats have given them.

… I hope the gift proves valuable in ways that benefit the deserving. It’s doubtful though that either of the two parties will be good for Americans or anyone. I would only expect crumbs from either party, while the usual gorging takes place in both.
