Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone. Remember, everyone is Irish today so I hope you're all wearing something green and have corn beef and cabbage on the menu. Oh, and don't forget the Irish whiskey.

I too am wishing you more warmth and comfort. Hopefully the light and colour arrives soon. How's Fred? I imagine him directly in front of the fire with fur almost too hot to touch.

He not only looks like the dummy he acts like it too. The difference is that the dummy is never cruel like Biden is. I don’t think in his 50 years in congress that Biden has done anything that has helped we the people. He has only worked for his donors.

I did not take these first two pics, a nice lady in town sent them to me. They were taken I think last weekend. This is the work of a pair of Black Vulture.

The first is the nest site, in which the two eggs are visible at left in the darkest part.

Here is a basic Black Vulture pic. Smaller and more aggressive than the (red headed) Turkey Vulture.

Thank the nice lady in town for the egg shots. They must be big eggs if one is enough for an omelette. I wonder if a vulture egg tastes different than a chicken egg?

Thanks for the photos.

The eggs fit in perfectly with the rocks they are nesting on. I always thought nests were made of softer stuff ; ).

The beauty of creation and 'art' in their natural environments are appreciated.

I wondered whether anyone would relate them to sculptures.

In reality it is a shoot from the Taro plant that was part of a weeding blitz. Their leaves have a very metallic look in every kind of light.

@janis b Neat pics J! Are those that calla lily sorta thingie? Is the paler or brighter area in center of leaf a function of light, or is that how it looks with the darker, maybe purplish outward of the pale area?

The lighter area in the centre is lighter in colour than the rest of the leaf. It is the underside of a Purple Taro leaf. I think the lighter colour is a result of the time it takes for the leaf to unfurl from its tightly rolled beginning. Not as much sunlight, so less chlorophyll?

I wouldn't like to meet though, and certainly not on pink flower leaves, or what are they on?

ah, now I have to research if we have an irish pub in this stinky town. I shoould get red hair and a sexy outfit first. Instead I dig literally through mud to dry out a pond.

Say high to Mr. Patrick, he seemed to ge a nice guy.

Be well all, dry, with roof over your head and food for the ages.

The Lynx spider is very small. Only 12-22mm in length and not harmful to humans. This one was on a pink rose blossom.
