Happy Friday everyone. Hope all is well for everybody. Post any photos, memes, or music you like.
For a wide variety of subjects to photograph in one place you can't beat La Jolla Cove on a weekend. Join me for a walk along Coast Blvd.

Hi pixelators
Hi all, hope it's all good!
GREAT pics SP! Wonderful coast down there. Awesome Oystercatcher pic. They are a cool bird. Sometimes they get a rare stray American Oystercatcher on socal coast (1-2 usually somewhere) with the white belly and wingstripe. The 'Eastern' type, but these that show in socal are a west Mexican subspecies. I remember about 1980 a Black Oystercatcher on Pt. Loma got people to chase it to see it. They were a report-worthy rare bird then. Now they nest on the LA Harbor breakwater!
Not sure on what species those cranes are...
I have work to do so gotta fly, but here is a quick Cedar Waxwing, in my low-res way.
Be well all!
We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.
Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

Hi, dystopian
I really like the coloring on the American Oystercatcher. I'd love to see one here.
Nice shot of the Cedar Waxwings. I've never seen them on the ground before.
I'm great at multi-tasking. I can waste time, be unproductive, and procrastinate all at the same time.

Hey hey, the juxtaposition between the flock of cranes
and grouping of sea lions doing yoga is great! Also, nice to see the Pacific again. Always
thought La Jolla was cool place. Been eons since there.
thanks for showing your stuff!
Hi, QMS.
I like La Jolla. I try to get there at least once a year during the winter when the Brown Pelicans are in breeding colors.
Killer shot of the surfers.

Thanks for the trip to the beach!
You are so lucky to live so close to the ocean. Maybe Sam and I should schedule a visit with you and I can fix my craving. Love the pelicans and what is the plant that made the arch?
Was Humpty Dumpty pushed?
Hi, snoopy
There are four beaches in San Diego county where you can let your dog run around off leash. I bet Sam would love every one of them. I had to look up the plant. It's an Elephants Trunk, a member of the Agave family.

What a lot of fun Social
Especially your flock of Cranes and basking Sea Lion poses.
It seems like ages since I saw the last crescent moon. Yet, when I checked the date, it was only 10 days ago. How relative and disorienting time can feel at times. Thankfully, it seems like the axis is finding equilibrium again. An added treat today was hearing the joyful sounds of children playing outside again, and the first chorus of summer cicadas who are way late in making an appearance.
Be well all and enjoy the weekend.
That is a beautiful picture Janis
glad you are still stable!
reminds me of S. Carolina
saw this once in Charleston
Palmetto and crescent moon
Thank you QMS, it's gorgeous
One more from that evening before the rain event
funny how your moon points the other way
almost full here tonight
known as the Snow Moon
on the fifth
but the the ground is bare
also according to the natives ..
• Bald Eagle Moon (Cree)
• Bear Moon (Ojibwe)
• Black Bear Moon (Tlingit)
• Month of the Bony Moon (Cherokee)
• Eagle Moon (Cree)
• Goose Moon (Haida)
• Groundhog Moon (Algonquin)
• Hungry Moon (Cherokee)
• Raccoon Moon (Dakota)
Thank you for the moon names and references
It is a wonder how the same moon can rise and set in opposite directions.
Funny how the first name I googled was the Haida Goose Moon
It referenced the Queen Charlotte Islands, which is also the name of a track here on the South Island that has always looked to me as the most appealing track to walk, though I've never walked it. There’s always been a strong connection between Vancouver and NZ, with many people exchanging places, either permanently or temporarily.
The most obvious connection for me was visible in the quality of light that I first saw 4 years ago on a road trip with my sister on Vancouver Island. More than a colonial connection there is also nature.

Hi, Janis
Absolutely beautiful shot of the crescent moon. Glad to hear the sounds of life around you are bringing you joy.

Thank you Social
for sharing the joy with me.
Hey J!
GREAT to see you back and at it. Hopefully your ground is drying and stabilizing.

Thank you dear D
Today was dry with a breeze which helped in terms of comfort and some natural drying of the surface. It's raining again at the moment and seems like it will continue on and off through the night, though not threatening.
Cheers
Thank you all for my weekly
wonderful visual pictorial fix. It's been a wild winter all over the US 'cept where I live. However, storm season will be here yet again in a few months.
