Tonight I am in a reflective mood, reading past writings on C99. Most fairly recent and an odd one I wrote 5 1/2 years ago are example/s of how our understanding of issues and definitions of specific language has been shifting.

TDS - the three letters get thrown around a bit in conversations today, usually as an insult. The first definition that comes to mind is Total Dissolved Solids - a measurement of particulate matter in water smaller than 2 microns. Then I got used to using Technical Data Sheets to evaluate products. Acronymfinder.com lists 125 definitions and none include the word Trump.

Dig a little deeper and the confusion increases.

Urban dictionary calls it Trump Devotion Syndrome in the search results and Trump Derangement Syndrome and both descriptions apply the abbreviation to Trump supporters.

Urban Dictionary: TDS
TDS is the acronym for Trump Devotion Syndrome. It's characterized by a singular willingness to serve criminals with the surname "Trump." Secondary symptoms include the following: edema of the heart and lungs, inflammation of the internal organs, chest tightness, and difficulty forming coherent sentences.

Trump Derangement Syndrome, is the unwavering adoration and devotion to a political leader, beginning with Donald Trump the namesake of the disorder, extending to other forms of leadership including presidents and rulers typically of a fascist or populist nature. While the name is meant to have pejorative connotations the actual condition is characterized primarily by behaviors found in in "cult of leader" or "cult of personality" scenarios.

Dictionary.com applies the insult to another group of people.

What does TDS mean?

TDS is an acronym for Trump Derangement Syndrome, a term applied to people who express deep loathing and fear of President Donald Trump. It’s usually used by Trump supporters for liberals.

It’s also used as a social-media hashtag in reference to the Tour De Suisse bike race. And, when it has a lowercase s, it’s used to abbreviate touchdowns.

Wikipedia tries to cover all the bases, everyone can be described or insulted.

Definition

Fareed Zakaria defined the syndrome as "hatred of President Trump so intense that it impairs people's judgment".[6][14] CNN's editor-at-large Chris Cillizza called TDS "the preferred nomenclature of Trump defenders who view those who oppose him and his policies as nothing more than the blind hatred of those who preach tolerance and free speech".[1] Pointing to previous allegations of Bush Derangement Syndrome and Obama Derangement Syndrome, Cillizza suggested, "Viewed more broadly, the rise of presidential derangement syndromes is a function of increased polarization—not to mention our national self-sorting—at work in the country today."[1] Bret Stephens has described the term as something used by conservative groups whenever someone speaks out critically against Trump, regardless of political affiliation.[15]

Political analyst John Avlon uses the term using a more generalized sense inclusive of positive emotions as well as hatred towards Trump, so that for example, TDS accounts for denialism about Trump’s defeat in the 2020 election, as a "political diagnosis" of people who "simply can’t accept the fact that he lost the election."[16][17]

This new definition derogatorily describing the rabid nature of Trump followers rather than his deriders has been picked up by others and is now widely used.

Patterns: The Deep State

There are few opportunities for the general public to see The Deep State (TDS), people they influence and tentacles that reach into industry, non-profits and federal agencies. Bernie, Trump, 9/11 and now are a few of the times we have been able to view TDS in real time. The power struggle between CIA, FBI, Department of State and Pentagon has erupted into a non compliant public. I don’t think Congress is a major player anymore. NSA was probably created to try and squelch the power struggles of the CIA and FBI.

The current version of TDS is probably the one created by the Reagan administration. Described in the article, The Armageddon Plan, as method to survive a nuclear war with the USSR which morphed into terrorists with nuclear weapons. The immediate actions following 9/11 were based on the drills Cheney and Rumsfeld had participated in during the Reagan and Bush I years.

Lookout highlighted a video last Sunday with a group of physicians changing views on improving health. This information has been available for years and the doctors still do not understand the full complexity, but it is a beginning. Most fact checking sites will explain the information presented is quakery.

They are missing carbs in the diet is important for some people to maintain control in diabetes. They provided no warnings to anyone taking treatments for diabetes should not make major changes in their diet without working with their health professionals to avoid life threatening low blood sugars.

As a general rule I am anti nuclear energy as an alternative energy source. The waste problem needs to solved. Not simply burying waste out of sight, keeping spent fuel rods in waste ponds or creating weapons. So is this a partial solution for the accumulated waste around the world?

Russian Nuclear Reactor That Uses 'Innovative' Fuel Goes Into 'Full Power Mode' Sputnik News Sept 23, 2022

On September 22, Unit 4 of the Beloyarsk Nuclear Power Plant in Russia reached 100 percent capacity for the first time.

According to the Atomic Energy web portal, the entire active zone of the BN-800 fast breeder reactor at Unit 4 has been fully switched to mixed oxide fuel (or MOX fuel for short) made from plutonium dioxide, which is made from reprocessed fuel rods used in standard VVER pressurized water reactors, and depleted uranium oxide made from reprocessed byproducts of the uranium enrichment process.

The use of MOX fuel essentially brings the entire Russian nuclear industry a step closer to a “new technological platform based on the closed nuclear fuel cycle,” drastically increasing the fuel base of the nuclear power generation sector and further minimizing radioactive waste, the portal suggests.

A lovely cool one here in NE AL. Although we are dry, the heat has broken with the arrival of fall.

As to TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome), I like Jimmy Dore's descriptor. Trump eliminated peoples' critical thinking skills and pushed any remnant of rational thought into their lower lizard brain. I think it is something real. Many of my Dim friends still suffer from its effects. They are glad he was removed from twitter and raided by the FBI...not realizing they are next if they commit a thoughtcrime...

Thoughtcrime is another term used throughout Orwell’s 1984. It is defined as thoughts that go against the political ideology of The Party. Even if someone leaves these thoughts unspoken, it is still a crime to think them. It is one of the most frightening elements of 1984. The person who thinks these thoughts is held responsible for them as though they said them out loud or committed the act they were thinking about.

The term “thoughtcrime” is part of Newspeak, the language used by Party members throughout the novel. Every edition of the Newspeak dictionary removes more words, compressing them. Ideally, the novel implies, once complete, there are going to be very few things anyone can think about outside what the Party desires.

In one particular section of the novel, Winston’s neighbor, Parsons, is arrested by the Thought Police for thoughtcrime. He was turned in, Parsons says, by his daughter who heard him talking in his sleep. Orwell writes:

‘It was my little daughter,’ said Parsons with a sort of doleful pride. ‘She listened at the keyhole. Heard what I was saying, and nipped off to the patrols the very next day. Pretty smart for a nipper of seven, eh? I don’t bear her any grudge for it. In fact I’m proud of her. It shows I brought her up in the right spirit, anyway.’

So I hope all is well on the homestead. We managed to apply sealant to our newly cleaned decks this dry week. One 35 YO deck I plan to apply another coat next week. Fall wildflowers are coming on. Always fun to me.

“Azov Delegation Visits the US”

Chaos broke out today when the Azov delegation were shot to death in a hail of bullets causing crowds to flee. When police arrived at the scene, they quickly found the perpetrators – who turned out to be a dozen men in their late 90s. It was seen that they were armed with WW2 M1 Garands and were wearing faded US Army uniforms from the 1940s with Big Red One patches on their sleeves. When asked why they killed the Azov delegation, one of them spat on the ground and said that that they saw that they had “unfinished business.” Another said that when you are 97 years old, that a life-time prison sentence means nothing anymore.

UK Defence ministry document reveals Skripals blood samples could have been manipulated

New evidence has emerged of gross violations during the UK investigation into the alleged poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripal in Salisbury on 4th March 2018. The new revelations put into question the main evidence that the Skripals were poisoned with the nerve agent Novichok.

The blood samples taken from the Skripals could have been tampered with so that they test positive for Novichok, newly disclosed information obtained from the UK Ministry of Defence reveals. Furthermore, documents show that Russia was not the only country in the world that could be linked to the nerve agent Novichok.

The US had covered up its own Novichok program masked as research on fourth generation nerve agents (FGAs) and muzzled the Organisation for the prohibition of chemical weapons (OPCW) a decade before the Skripals attack.

“Our searches have failed to locate any information that provides the exact time that the samples were collected”, the ministry states. The information held by MOD therefore indicates that the samples were collected at some point between 16:15 on 4 March 2018 and 18:45 on 5 March 2018 (the approximate time according to MOD when the samples arrived at DSTL Porton Down). Even the time of arrival at Porton Down is indicated as “approximate”.

The lack of this information is gross violation and breach of the chain of custody. The UK NHS protocol requires that a request form accompany all specimens sent to the laboratory and clearly state the exact (not approximate) date and time of collection. This newly disclosed information questions the whole Skripals Novichok poisoning story. The fact that the chain of custody of these blood samples was broken directly suggests that they could have been manipulated and tampered with.

3. There are four reasons to believe the samples were tampered with since:

3.1. None of the people who were in direct contact with the Skripas tested positive for Novichok. According to the UK government, the nerve agent had been sprayed on the door handle of the Skripals house. Yulia and her father Sergei touched the door handle and few hours later the two collapsed simultaneously on a bench in Salisbury. Meanwhile, few minutes after they had reportedly been poisoned by touching the door handle, the Skripals handed bread to three children to feed ducks. One of the children even ate the bread. This was documented by CCTV footage which the police showed to their parents. Despite the direct contact, no one of the children developed any symptoms of poisoning and their blood tests showed no traces of Novichok.

3.2. We have been told that Novichok is the deadliest nerve agent ever developed. However, none of the alleged “Kremlin targets” (the Skripals and Alexei Navalny) died and all made full recovery without any damage to their health or permanent harm. How is it possible that the deadliest nerve agent in the world has caused no harm to any of the targeted victims and they all fully recovered?

3.3. Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were poisoned with the drug Fentanyl, not the Novichok nerve agent, the initial report on the incident reveals. After I published this report on my Twitter account the information was immediately redacted and the drug Fentanyl was deleted from the original version.

Alexey Navalny fell sick during a flight from Tomsk to Moscow on 20th August 2020 and was taken to a hospital in Omsk following an emergency landing. The Russian hospital identified no poison in his blood and attributed his condition to metabolic disorder. At the request of Navalny’s wife Yulia, Russia allowed the patient to be transported for medical treatment in Germany two days later. Germany announced that Russia had poisoned Navalny with Novichock and requested assistance from OPCW.

How strange that Russia tried to kill Navalny and yet let him leave Russia to be treated in Germany afterwards. Strange compassion for someone that they wanted dead because he was a threat to Putin’s re-election. After all he was polling at 2%…wowzer! And then after he knew that Russia/Putin wanted him dead he willingly returned to Russia who then revoked his parole and made him serve the rest of his sentence. You’d think that they would try to kill him again…well unless he actually was a CIA puppet?

The United Nations offered a chilling update Friday about an investigation opened into possible war crimes committed in Ukraine amid its war with Russia.

The Independent International Commission of Inquiry into Ukraine reported instances of rape, torture and unlawful confinement, according to findings published to the U.N. Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights website.

“Investigating cases related to sexual and gender-based violence present specific challenges. The Commission has found that some Russian Federation soldiers committed such crimes,” the panel wrote.

“These acts amounted to different types of violations of rights, including sexual violence, torture, and cruel and inhuman treatment.”

The commission said that it found Russian forces forced family members to witness crimes committed against their loved ones. Those who experienced sexual or gender-based violence ranged in age from 4 to 82 years old, according to the update.

“The Commission has documented cases in which children have been raped, tortured, and unlawfully confined,” the panel added.

It matters little that the one sided reports are trumpeted by the compliant MSM will little or no fact checking.

The 76th Session of the General Assembly of the UN, when these speeches were made, was one year ago in September 2021. Everything was strikingly different. Promises were made about climate, covid, Afghanistan, support for world hunger, health assistance, solutions for climate impacted countries, and infrastructure builds for development — all failed to materialize in a meaningful way. Afghanistan's treasury funds were stolen by the United States. Climate change commitments were actually corporate lies. The vaccine scheme failed to stop the virus — the infections continue, the deaths continue, the virus continues to mutate, the life span shrinks, and excessive deaths have yet to peak. Poor countries did not receive sufficient vaccines, medical information was censored, effective treatments were suppressed, the public was kept uninformed about the state of the pandemic, and another deadly wave has now begun. Since the speeches, the final dangerous push and provocation to trigger war with Russia and China was launched — via proxy actors, Ukraine and Taiwan.

Listening to Biden's speech one year later, one hears a monotone, barking script filled with lies, bad faith, and ignorant hypocrisy. Any of the non-white, non-Anglo, non-European-colonized nations who happened to revisit this speech today, would notice the same disingenuous promises. And, not one in a hundred Americans, nor the US media, would notice anything amiss at all.

I have yet to listen to Russia. I imagine they were so consumed by the end-game assault on their sovereignty by NATO, that they did not bother to make empty promises about global improvements, while posing as the de facto Leader of the World.

China has this unwavering vision that every nation, and all people, can become moderately prosperous and sustainably secure if they are connected to a modern infrastructure that makes global trade and entrepreneurship possible for everyone. This is mostly what they talk about. If China made promises about improvements for humankind, my guess is they made progress one year later.

The entire reason for international trade is to avoid wars. That's the bottom line. The purpose of trade is not to create a weaponized corporate monolith that wants to rule the world.
