Food Fight All About Control

Open Thread Image.jpg

Kissinger: “Control oil and you control nations; control food and you control the people.”

US strategy deliberately destroyed family farming in the US and abroad and led to 95% of all grain reserves in the world being under the control of six multinational agribusiness corporations...Cargill Grain Company; Continental Grain Company; Cook Industries, Inc; Dreyfus; Bunge Company; and Archer Daniels Midland – all US-based companies.

The US long-term strategy was to dominate the global market in grain and agriculture commodities, as outlined in the early 1970s by Richard Nixon. This policy coincided with taking the dollar off the gold exchange standard in August 1971 to make US grain exports competitive in the rest of the world. However, in order for the US to become the world’s most competitive agribusiness producer, it had to replace traditional American family-based farming with the now-widespread huge “factory-farm” production. In other words, traditional agriculture was systematically replaced with agribusiness production through changes in domestic policy. For example, domestic farm programs that had previously protected smaller farm incomes were phased out during Nixon’s term in office. This policy was then exported to developing countries in a bid to make US agribusiness more competitive and to get a hold into foreign markets

And now they want all the farmland to control what is produced and what you will be allowed to eat. (18 min)

Canada and Holland, Are They TRYING to Create a Famine?

These are really shameful and ridiculous times in Canada under the administration of Justin Trudeau's Liberal government. And you can hardly finish mentioning the atrocities of this current government of Canada. You know, I bet even the Liberals' followers never really thought the state of the country could get this worse. First, it was this World Economic Forum globalists pleasing Liberals trying to force everyone to take a series of vaccines that has reportedly been having very dangerous side effects, and now, these guys are attempting to sabotage the food supply across the country. Apparently, Justin Trudeau would continue to steal away and mercilessly put a roof over the freedom of the people of Canada, destroying our quality of life, and now in a rather horrific manner, this guy is going to implement his crazy plans aimed at reducing food production in Canada. And you know, it's just really insane; I mean, just how exactly did we get to this point in Justin Trudeau's Canada?.

Isn't it interesting that the WEF global leaders club are all driving the same agenda? Link worth a read.

.. what we are really proud of now with the young generation like Prime Minister Trudeau, President of Argentina and so on, is that we penetrate the cabinets… It is true in Argentina and it is true in France now… (Klaus Schwab)

And here's another interesting tidbit:
Three American corporations bought 17 million hectares of Ukraine’s best farmland
The Australian edition of The National Review writes that three large American transnational consortia bought up … 17 million hectares of Ukrainian agricultural land. For comparison: in the whole of Italy there are 16.7 million hectares of agricultural land. So it turns out that three American companies bought more useful agricultural land in Ukraine than there is in all of Italy. The entire area of Ukraine is 600,000 sq. km, 170,000 sq. km have been bought. Cargill, Dupont and Monsanto are the latter officially German-Australian, but with American capital. Their main shareholders are American Vanguard, BlackRock and Blackstone. BlackRock is a fund that manages $10 trillion in assets, Vanguard manages $6 trillion, Blackstone manages $881 billion.

Additionally, the West prepares to plunder post-war Ukraine with neoliberal shock therapy
Western governments and corporations met in Switzerland to plan harsh neoliberal economic policies to impose on post-war Ukraine, calling to cut labor laws, “open markets,” drop tariffs, deregulate industries, and “sell state-owned enterprises to private investors.”

But let's get back to the attack on farmers...

The green lobby want to kill all cattle because they fart too much (2.5 min)

"Nobody needs politicians or journalists or broadcasters. But everybody needs farmers...

The absurdity that farmers would buy expensive nitrogen fertilizer to only have it denitrify and become atmospheric nitrogen is a path to bankruptcy. The idea that cattle harm the atmosphere is equally absurd unless you add the caveat of industrial CAFO operations. However with proper management ruminant animals can improve ecosystems as they capture carbon. Here's an entire channel featuring many farmers who do so.

Here's an interesting recent conversation between two small cattle farmers in hot, dry Texas.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCr5m8Ute_0 (23 min) They raise hardy Texas Longhorn cattle, and compare their grass based system with the industrial grain based beef production.
So many cattle farmers in Texas are being forced to sell out. They're feeding hay in the middle of summer.

Greg has also been experiencing a drought, but his management style allows him to cruise through. He recently got some rain. (12.5 min)

The trick is regular movement as a mob. He moves his cows every 12 hours, twice a day, and moves his sheep every two days. He does this with a minimum of inputs...mostly single strand temporary electric fence.

I've featured Allan Savory's documentary Running out of Time | Documentary on Holistic Management (47 min) a few times. Anyone who doubts cattle can be used to restore damaged ecosystems needs to watch it. Believe your lying eyes.

So bottom line, cattle are not BAD for the environment, it is the industrialized corporate management of cattle (and other animals) that is damaging. So the idea of eating insects to help the environment is ridiculous. (1 min clip from first featured video)

TPTB are trying to spin the threat of the flea on the elephant of ecosystem destruction. Farmer's are not the real problem.

A good start at reducing global climate chaos would be to stop all our military activities.

The world’s largest sea-based war games (meaning the simulation of war) are held off the coast of Hawaii, called RIMPAC. Journalist Abby Martin, host of The Empire Files, Media Roots Radio, and the new Callin show Dosed, attended the games this year to report on what destruction the United States and its allies are simulating. The footage will be part of her upcoming new film, “Earth’s Greatest Enemy.”

source:

  • A new study says the US military is among the biggest climate change culprits
  • The US military rivals countries like Sweden and Denmark in terms of emissions
  • In 2017 alone the US military purchased about 269,230 barrels of oil
  • Researchers say the military should be downsized to prevent catastrophe

However we are not downsizing...just the opposite.
Alex and Alexander at the Duran have been investigating and reporting on the latest in the Ukraine war (30 min), and the new threat of a war with China (16 min). So there's not even talk of downsizing and ending all these wars of choice.

I liked this photoshop shot that Humphrey posted in the EB this week

Ukraine graft.jpg

After all a picture is worth thousands (of millions) of words.

But instead of ending war and escalating conflicts, you take cold showers and eat insects...right.

How can the TPTB expect to pull this off? The same way they created the pandemic panic to control us. They use propaganda and mass formation. Have you ever seen the 90's movie, Wag the Dog? I think it does a good job describing the way the deep state and Hollywood work together to create desired narratives.

Someone has put together a wag the dog in Ukraine video.

So no doubt the propaganda machine is effective at shaping public perception. But how does that translate into mass formation?

Mattias Desmet: It's Time to Take a Stand

Russell had a similar conversation with Dr Bernardo Kastrup - author of ‘Why Materialism is Baloney’ about how the mainstream media and intellectual elites shape our reality in a materialistic world and how science underwrites our politics
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GL1krGIPdDQ (15 min)

Make no doubt the war on farmers is a sham. The big culprits are ignored in order to drive farmers bankrupt and buy their land at bargain prices. This is clearly about control rather than effective true environment restoration. Don't buy in to the false narrative because that is the way the mass formation/hypnosis operates as Mattias explained above.

A dynamic couple from England that changed the way they dairy into a huge success! This couple had the courage to start a new method of dairying. Making more milk did not equal more profit. They got that right size cow and focused on solely grass based dairying and never looked back. Their cheese is unbelievably tasty.

The trick was smaller cows with better milk fat, now full of omega 3 because they graze on grass...what they evolved to eat.

this morning, Lookout.

I agree that the land grabs intensifying now world-wide are the largest single issue facing us. Or at the very least, an enduring issue far beyond any headline on the news

From the seed sequestration and insane laws going back decades (?) to planting US fields with food to feed livestock in China (!) to Bill Gates... this has been a long time in the making.

The latest distraction, Pelosi to visit Taiwan appears to have done what it needed to do----distract from the abysmal failure in Ukraine and the $$$$$$$$$$ poured into the pockets of the wealthy during that misadventure. Gonzalo has the tweet up.

Not to mention that Biden has Covid again. Now called a re-bound from Paxlovid. omfg, what next....

Thanks for another brilliant weekly round-up.

@Lookout @Lookout A favorite US tactic.

Ukraine Army is disintegrating. The Western weapons are being captured and sold on the Black Market or are being displayed by triumphant RF troops. After the few surviving Ukrainian fighters surrender.

Only the dimmest bulbs or paid off propagandists and media puppets even bother to pretend that Ukraine can stage any offensive whatsoever. Let alone a winning one.

Or the occasional writer who listens only to his own voice and does not read the many thoughtful smart people who contribute to this blog. Let alone comment on much. If the shoe fits----you are probably not reading this entry either.

It's tough being a small farmer or small rancher these days. The weather is making their enterprise nearly impossible here in TX. Many people in TX have a few acres and run cattle or other livestock on it. Their holdings however are not big enough to have significant amount of grassland or room to rotate stock effectively when we have severe drought. Many rely on hay. But this summer we have no water and the price of hay is sky-high. So people are selling their cattle off in droves. I assume the price they get for them has gone down.

These news stories illustrate the problem:

@Lookout @Lookout , as you were posting the above. Sorry, I didn't intend to post redundant info. I do think though that both post show how hard it will be to raise food in the midst of climate change. It's going to take some seriously different ways of problem solving to manage this endeavor successfully. I'm thinking that the small farmers and ranchers might have to pool their resources and work cooperatively to make it through.

Edited to add that we haven't gotten rain in my area. I think we have had 50 consecutive days of temps that have been 100 degrees or more. It's dangerously dry here with some grass fires in various areas just outside of town. That map you posted of drought is a scary looking thing. I've been watching it.

The Jimmy Dore Show

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the resulting cries of “We are all Ukraine,” many have been eager to downplay the proliferation of neo-Nazis in Ukrainian paramilitary groups, the Ukrainian armed forces and even parts of the government.

As Jimmy and The Grayzone’s Max Blumenthal discuss, reports of neo-Nazis in Ukraine are not at all exaggerated, and the Zelensky government is, in fact, largely beholden to these racist, xenophobic, anti-gay groups that brag of the “fun” they get from fighting and killing.

Where Putin, Zelensky Are Open to Compromise on Deal to End War
By Natalie Colarossi
3/29/22
...
As the crucial peace talks continue into Wednesday, here are some ways Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin have indicated they would compromise on:

Donbas
...
Earlier this week, Zelensky indicated that Ukraine would be willing to compromise on the "complex" status of Donbas, and said that he would not attempt to take back the entire region, according to the Associated Press. The Ukrainian president added that he is open to reaching an agreement on the issue in order to secure peace "without delay."
...
Crimea

During Tuesday's talks, Ukrainian officials for the first time outlined a plan to negotiate the status of Crimea over a 15-year period. Crimea, which lies on a peninsula stretching out from the south of Ukraine between the Black Sea and Russia, was annexed by Russian forces in 2014.
...
Ukraine Declaring Neutral Status

Another Russian demand to end the war is for Ukraine to adopt a neutral status, meaning that it would not be permitted to join NATO or any other military alliance. Zelensky has already stated that he accepts the fact that Ukraine will not join NATO. But earlier this week, he went even further in saying that the country is "ready" to pledge neutrality.
...

Boris Johnson Pressured Zelenskyy to Ditch Peace Talks With Russia:
May 6, 2022

"The British government has become an obstacle to peace in Ukraine," said the Stop the War Coalition. "The conflict there is developing into a proxy war between Russia and NATO and it is the Ukrainian people who will suffer the consequences."

The Ukrainian news outlet Ukrayinska Pravda reported Thursday that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson used his surprise visit to Kyiv last month to pressure President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to cut off peace negotiations with Russia, even after the two sides appeared to have made tenuous progress toward a settlement to end the war.

Citing unnamed sources from Zelenskyy's "inner circle" and advisory team, Pravda reported that "Johnson brought two simple messages to Kyiv":

"The first is that Putin is a war criminal; he should be pressured, not negotiated with. And the second is that even if Ukraine is ready to sign some agreements on guarantees with Putin, they are not. We can sign [an agreement] with you [Ukraine], but not with him. Anyway, he will screw everyone over," is how one of Zelenskyy's close associates summed up the essence of Johnson's visit...

Johnson's position was that the collective West, which back in February had suggested Zelenskyy should surrender and flee, now felt that Putin was not really as powerful as they had previously imagined.

Moreover, there is a chance to "press" him. And the West wants to use it.

the OT. The bad guys have an enormous head start, and the best way to preserve the remainins small ag and family farms is to enhance their profitability. Preferentially patronizing them is definitely part of the solution where it can be done. Community composting could also help, but how to implement same is a big question. Locally, community greenwaste is centrally composted and then provided free or at a major discount to local residents, but it wouldn't take much to set that up so as to provide it to local small and/or organic farm operations, enhancing yields and reducing costs, it can be promoted as a) green and b) freserving the murcan way of life. promoting the growing and/or harvesting of algae for use as fertilizer is another option. And why is this happening now? Because Serbia won’t join the economic suicide and get on board with sanctioning Russia. Yeah who cares if people die because they won’t mind America? It’s not like America gives a damn about people. Just look at how it lets it’s own people live in extreme poverty and offers them no health care.

We did have to postpone our Philly, NYC, and Boston shows, but we are still planning on being able to do Montreal (Aug 2) and Toronto (Aug 3), and continue on the rest of the tour from there, provided none of the rest of us go down with the bug in the meantime.

There’s a AIDS 2022 going on and the twit is full of people singing his praises for what he did during the AIDS epidemic. I put in my thoughts on how Fauci handled it. I was just being honest.

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

Falsie worship is a puzzlement. An excellent example of mass formation.

Great stuff, in a depressing way. It is a lot of bona fide info which supports what is going on in the world is WEF depopulation. NOT CT! The more attention paid, the better we little people can stand our ground. I emphasize: OUR GROUND.
I am in a hotel room with a husband that loves goofy old western movies, so I will have to watch your videos later. Can't interfere with the shootouts and romance with women with 18 inch waistlines and poofed up hair!
Everywhere in this country is lovely and has potential, if only anybody in control gave a shit.
Stay cool!

with De Niro and Hoffman is entertaining and recommended if you have not seen it. (embedded toward the end of today's column) Funny and with a message.

Hope y'all had a good trip. Safe travels on your return journey.
