Album of the Week - 6-25-22

Afternoon folks!

This week there's more great stuff. There's a Muddy Waters live album, an album by a fairly obscure Texas blues artist, Weldon "Juke Boy" Bonner and another Mississippi John Hurt album recorded after his "rediscovery" by folk music enthusiasts. There's an album by harmonica player Charlie Musselwhite, two Savoy Brown albums and a late 70's album by Peter Green.

Enjoy!

Links now go to album information. Here 'tis:

Muddy "Mississippi" Waters Live

Weldon "Juke Boy" Bonner - Texas Blues Troubadour

Charlie Musselwhite - Times Gettin' Tougher Than Tough

Savoy Brown - A Step Further

Savoy Brown - Getting To The Point

Peter Green - In The Skies

Mississippi John Hurt - Volume One of a Legacy

the Portland Waterfront Blues Festival next weekend. It's gonna be four days of hot, packed, beer quaffing fun.
Prior commitments. Sigh.
Really like Taj Mahal.
Thanks for the tunes, Joe

After six years, still getting robo-calls from Marriot Hotels.

live boogie jam session of all time is on the A Step Further album. Chris Youlden was the best Savoy Brown vocalist as well, IMHO of course.

Thanks, Joe.

heh, i have never sat down and tried to figure out what my favorite live boogie jam session is, but i'm pretty sure that this one would be at or near the top of my list. it's certainly one of the most energetic boogie workouts on record.

have a good one!

and his magical picking.

Also, I've never heard this Peter Green... better than I thought.
