Friday night Photos Birds vol. 1 Edition

Happy Friday everyone. As always, post any photos you like.

On Monday the bird watching group I belong to had it's monthly outing at Lake Murray. During our 2 hour walk we saw or heard 33 different species of birds. I even managed to get a few good shots.

Skeksis. Oops I mean Turkey Vulture

The vulture has a face not even a mother could love.

@gjohnsit

Thanks for the video. This comment by Dore in response to Schultz's revolting comparison reveals his arrogance, ignorance, and ugliness ...

"Howard Schultz gets 553 million blankets, and you get 1 to share.”

Maybe it’s actually more productive to have the employees themselves fight for their rights. I think it is partially the result of what Sanders awakened. I don’t think though any of those awakened are looking to politicians any more, including Sanders, to fight for them. This could be a good thing.

Tried to get the sunset beyond the star magnolia in full bloom across the street, but was a
little late to catch the glow.

Hopefully you'll have clear sky's at sunset again tomorrow and can get a shot of the glowing star magnolia.
Nice song selection. I always think of the movie An American Werewolf in London when I hear it.

Thank you for your photos and for hosting Friday Photography.

You’ve captured the Turkey Vulture’s powerful form so strongly. I've never seen one up close before. They don’t look it but they are basically harmless to living things.

Thankfully for them, vultures appear to have excellent immune systems, happily feasting on carcasses without contracting botulism, anthrax, cholera, or salmonella. Unlike their Black Vulture relatives, Turkey Vultures almost never attack living prey.

We should have such a strong immune system!

Enjoy the long weekend and be well all.

I love the look of freshly washed sand and the patterns created, plus whatever decorates it. There were also thin strands of a bright green seaweed. They looked delectable, but finally I gave up trying to chew it. It was naturally salty and seaweedy tasting, but very tough. Next time I'll take home and dry a bit.

@janis b beautiful photos Janis. I love your scenes in the sand. Have always been a fan of that kind of shot, you do them wonderfully.

Very nice pattern shots.
I wouldn't mind having a vultures immune system. Their diet, not so much.

GREAT pix SP! The gull is a Western Gull, immature between 2 and 3 years old. Gulls are tough, and for many, one of the last things most birders learn. Outstanding photos man!

I had a computer meltdown this week, no pics from me for now...
