Here is a heartbreaking letter from inside Kiev Ukraine. It's the 21st Century yet amerikkka is
sadly still being amerikkka.
The Nazi Ukrainians and Russians really don't like each other

This is the Ukraine
...that I have been researching for many years. The Ukraine that enriched so many American politicians.
This is what the Donbas has been fighting.
This is what Russia is up against.
This is what is behind the propaganda.
For the Ukrainian Nazis, having Biden as the US President is their "get out of jail card." Because of Biden's compromise, they can commit any atrocity they wish.
This is what the Neocons must cover up in the US. A false flag of nuclear explosions in Ukraine may be the only way to bury the truth.
The US doesn't get any worse than this
since Syria and the ME.
We are truly an empire that's evil in every which way possible.

Same stories but not reaching the West
The owner said last time she was in Ukraine was 2013 and the Nazis came through a festival and were terrorizing people.
Also the shop has displayed for a while both the Ukrainian and Russian flags. She was asked to take down the Russian flag and she refused. She said that flags represented the people of both nations not their leaders, etc. Brave woman.
Only good news is now the shop carries various E. European beers and wine. The Russians actually make very good beer.
Here in my neck of the woods which has many Russians
the smallish downtown area. They also have tags showing who sponsors
the ribbons which includes the Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, local grocery
store which I can't totally boycott unfortunately.
Why we have to support one or the other is baffling to me. War is horrible
and we/NATO shouldn't have encroached on Russia's borders and should be
doing diplomacy rather than war baiting, but we don't do diplomacy anymore,
we only do bullying.

Lots of countries are having a laugh every time Biden opens his mouth. Just remember that 81 million people voted for Biden even though it was clear that he wasn’t all there. Even the media was pointing that out before Obama and Clyburn cleared the field so he could win. Sad that in the last 3 primaries democrats had to rig them so their preferred candidate could win it.

Open lying probably means
...that we have already entered World War III.
The Neocons know that the US has no defense against supersonic missiles carrying nuclear warheads. The Pentagon is mindful of that. But this war has been triggered by the Deep Snakes in the State Department, and not through the Department of Defense. The generals will not be able to intercede against the orders of a senile President being run by the Neocons. That's what I see.
I unfortunaely come to the same conclusion

Lots of congress are also positive
because they refuse to wear their mask. Psakiopath gave Kamala a pass for not wearing hers inside because she was emotional. Looks like Pelosi was emotional too when she hugged emotional Biden where neither were wearing their mask inside. Congress ran out of money for uninsured people to get treated or get jabbed, but every person in government has full access to everything they need. They don’t even have to go to their doctor to get treated. Oh no they have doctors who come to their offices. Or houses.
On guns I read that a president cannot make anything illegal because it has to come from congress. Hopefully the supremes haven’t totally sold out because the 2nd amendment is the only right we have still standing. And how fcking hypocritical is that Biden’s trying to strip it while flooding Ukraine with weapons. Our constitution is dead, dead, dead because our government is working directly with people that they have declared our enemies. I’m sick and tired of there being 2 laws for people in this 3rd world country!
The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the dedicated communist, but people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction, true and false, no longer exists.
~Hannah Arendt
That’s a definite
We have had our military in Ukraine training their troops as well as training them here and sending them back to Ukraine. But since we overthrew their president in 2014 we have sent billions upon billions in weapons there. Since Biden got back in charge we’ve sent tens of billions maybe hundreds of billions while every day more Americans are becoming homeless. How much of the billions even make it to Ukraine instead of being pocketed by congress members from both sides will probably never be known. Democrats have been up to their ears in corruption there since at least 2014, but the CIA has been there for much longer.
This definitely is WWW 3 even before we put the draconian sanctions on Russia. They know it. Lavrov knows that this is for all the marbles. We either have a multiple player world or the US owns it. We’re also antagonizing China and playing chicken with North Korea. Plus we have sanctions on who knows how many other countries besides Venezuela, Cuba, Iran….
And as for the hypersonic weapons, yeah we are way behind Russia and China. But not just those weapons. Our defense companies are more interested in making money and buying back their stocks then making quality toys for the military. Hope everyone reads the Saker article posted here.

OK. This is disturbing
Good morning gj. I will only say that Ukraine has a certain
history, largely unknown to the people of the US and much of western Europe, buried and hidden by narratives, propaganda, and simple sweeping under the rug. Waffen SS and einsatzgruppen are only part of it.

Think I’m kidding? The WH went on a road trip to many countries. They get their funding from the UK, the Saudis and of course the Americans. Gee just imagine how that money could be used here instead.

good morning todos y'all (thass all you alls). Welcome
to Tuesday. If I seem all scatterbrained this morning it is because I am. A ton going on here, much somewhat newish so a lot up in the air at all times. Meanwhile lots or flowers are up and blooming, so yay!
So, pilgrims, the man said, so pilgrims it is:

I prefer to ponder spring and it's "wpnders" an "glories" such as they are even in this day and age, so for those for whom it might apply:

Hi all,
Hey EL,
Loved that list of birds around your yard you posted in your OT yesterday! Great selection of stuff to watch! Nuthatches are awesome, having nesting ones is fantastic! We had a pair of White-breasted that came in kitchen window for sunflower seeds on the counter when we lived in New Jersey. Anything that lives life 'upside-down', going headfirst down the trees deserves some observation time. Bottoms up, and down is up, for a nuthatch.
Hope all are well!

Good morning Dysto. Yeah, nuthatches, love the way
they arch their back backwards to look horizontally while hanging upside down. The list is partial, it's crazy out there, but fun and interesting. Far out with your WBNU coming in the window to feed, we tend to freak if anything gets inside because there are too many nooks, crannies and crevices in here and it is a major pita to get them back out where they belong.

A big towel
or similar
draped or held over the resting/hiding place and slowly gathered does the trick well.I’ve used this method a dozen times(or more) to successfully place birds in the house back outside. Works for bats as well.

Thanks TBU. Actually hip to the towel thing, used to
do lots of that at a nature/rehab center, but this place is wacky, if they get to certain zones you almost need a team with many towels, a net and maybe some scattered treats.

We've had...
a Northern Parula hanging around the last couple of weeks in a Crepe Myrtle tree right outside a window. It keeps trying to get into the window to get at a large Croton we have inside. Don't know what's attracting it to the Croton except maybe it's attracted to the red color.
The hummingbirds are back taking up offensive positions around the feeder. They're like little warriors when they go at each other.
I've been in Texas for 2 years now and have yet to see a Nuthatch. There was plenty of them in Illinois and I know they're here as well, just haven't seen one yet.
Good morning Johnny. Cool bird, that
Northern Parula; no gots out here. Hummer wars can be fun to watch, but those little suckers sometimes actually do serious injury to each other, it's a good thing that they aren't a lot bigger.

Last year I recorded...
a huge dust up on my phone between what looked to be 8 or 9 hummers fighting over a feeder. They actually use tactics. The dominant hummer would chase off everything in sight until a diversionary tactic pulled it away. One brave hummer would approach the feeder and while the dominant bird chased it several others moved in to grab a drink. Soon there were so many hummers flying around it looked like a swarm of bees. The dominant bird was overwhelmed. It was like a WWI dogfight only with birds instead of planes.
We then put up a second feeder about 12 feet away, the dominant bird still tried to control both feeders but wasn't able to cover all the territory giving opportunity for the others to sneak a quick drink.
Sometimes the combatants would rise vertically going at each other, other times two of them would tangle and head straight down into the grass in what seemed like a death spiral.
It was fascinating to watch.
the fighting hummers
I have long argued they would only need to eat half what they do if they did not fight the way they do. It has to be their most expensive energy usage, save migration. Too close together feeders are to them just like how they guard a flower patch... we put one on each side of the house. So often end up with 3 jerks guarding one feeder each, and one communal feeder. It takes a lot of them to get the swarm thing going whence the territoriality breaks down. They are fascinating to watch, like all birds. They are really amazing critters. The feeder thing lets us see them much more closely than many other birds.

Do you miss Illinois? n/t

No, I love it here in Texas...
but I do miss my son and granddaughter, brothers and sister and friends. Although one brother was recently down here for a couple of weeks visiting.
Texas is really a great state but I think a lot of folks have the wrong impression about it. In retrospect I think I've always been a Texan at heart, I just didn't realize it until I moved here.
I think I never understood Texas or Texans
but then I also never understood you.
I remember how furious you were once at Alligator Ed. Your sensitivity to his way of talking showed me you were quite a bit like I imagined Texans to be.
Be happy to have a family and lots of friends. In my parts of the woods I am the best hated person around here. I am too tough and too negative about everything. I guess folks here don't understand Americans at all, and for sure they don'T understand Texans.
"Fuck y'all, I am from Texas* '- that is how I thought about Texas. Luckily over time I learned otherwise on C99p.
Thanks for all you do. It has been a long journey for my here on C99p and I don'regret a minute I spent here.
Have a happy Easter holiday, if that is what you might have, even in Texas.

I love Parulas
Until fairly recently it was called Parula Warbler. It is a warbler. In fairly modern times, last couple decades, it has been called Northern Parula. Versus Tropical Parula, which in the U.S. is mostly a south Texas only specialty. N. Parula is a spanish moss specialist, nest is usually in that, but where none present they use ball moss. Both are genus Tillandsia, very similar epiphytes. Here in the hill country in central Texas we get small numbers of Northern and Tropical Parula, and they occasionally hybridize. Once in east Texas over by I think Lake Sam Rayburn my wife and I camped at a spot there that sounded like the trees were going to lift off for all the Parula song coming out of them.

I think you may be right...
about seeing its reflection. There is Spanish Moss in the Crepe Myrtle and the Parula hung out there almost all that day and then a couple of weeks later it returned fluttering at the window again. We were hoping it would nest there.
It is a beautiful bird. We got to see it from about 2 feet away and really up close when it was hanging on the the window frame, wings fluttering, trying to get in or get to the bird it thought it was seeing. Seeing it up close and personal like that enabled me to make a positive identification.
We're about an hour and a half southwest of Sam Rayburn.
great stuff JtC!
Texas has four species of Nuthatch. The northeast Texas woods do have some resident White-breasted Nuthatch, but I get the sense far fewer than used to be there. Red-breasted Nuthatch, occurs in winter only, and not every year. They are irruptive, generally more in poor food crop years up north. Of the two small ones, Pygmy is a western type, found in TX only in the Davis and Guadalupe Mtns., at altitude in Pines. The Brown-headed is a SE U.S. species of long-needle pine trees. I think Loblolly Pine is a big one. Much of the east Texas piney woods have them. Both small ones often travel in sizable groups high in branch tips and tree tops. I have seen them in many areas around Houston, as long as there are long-needle pines. The two small ones are noisy and sound like the whole flock, which might be 10, 20, or 30 birds, is tooting little tiny tin horns as they go.

Who knows how the MSM will depict Putin's press conference.
I have my doubts the there will be any similarity.
Here is the report from Russia.
Well, here’s a report from the Saker with
plenty of content you will nor find in the MSM today. Lots of progress in mopping up in Mariupol, and in other operations.

It’s how Americans will react to it.
It was posted on my local rag and people in the comments wants Biden to send in NATO troops and jets because Putin has to be stopped before he takes over Europe. A few try to explain what would happen if he did, but they are being ignored.

Good afternoon, EL et all (y'all)!
I am headed to Luckenbach, Texas, to attend a concert by an artist who sounds a lot like Waylon Jennings. Should be hot as hell, and lots of fun.

I don't get it - Why would German politicians believe
that sending whatever weapons to the Ukraine would be 'the thing that must be done now'? Are they all nuts?
