I received this several days ago. The intermittent outages this morning are probably related to this maintenance. As far as I know Putin has nothing to do with it.

Interestingly, in looking through the logs the last few days, I've seen a significant uptick in port scans and brute-force attacks on the SSH and VPN servers from Russia and the Ukraine this week, in addition to the usual slow boil of hits from China. Geopolitics observed through the web logs... Now, where's my tinfoil? (;-)

I keep getting no connection and have to hit post 3-4 times before it does. Life in a 1st world country ehh?
Scientists are concerned that conspiracy theories may die out if they keep coming true at the current alarming rate.
My logs have gotten very weird
...this past week. The logs are talking about me(!) Some of my network files have been altered. The DNS files were forgeries on two of my computers, sending me to strange places very slowly, or not at all. When I deleted them = immediate speed. But there seem to be real time watchers. My logs are talking about "watch dogs" and "trigger events" and "focus." Not long ago, I could barely decipher them. And more.
I'm starting to feel intimidated. I'll be surprised it this post gets through.
When a country thinks it is at war, it starts looking for the enemy within. No one wants to get caught up in that in a xenophobic country. In DC there were people in law enforcement who actually believed the Russia Hoax. People's lives were damaged. Some are being slowly murdered, like Assange.
Did JtC sound paranoid, or was it just me?
Noticed slow downs
I've noticed slow downs with this site, and with others. Thought it was me, my internet connection or something. My husband's been experiencing the same. But Thursday morning my scheduled posts didn't go up until an hour late, so figured it was the site.
Anyway, thanks, JtC, for keeping this going for all of us. I know the work it takes, you rock!!

Try trying different buttons.
Sometimes I’ve noticed when the “read more” leads nowhere I’ve been able to access the essay through one of the comments buttons . Random successes but no discernible, repeatable patterns. More like scrambled eggs than a sunny side up server responses.

Now Saturday AM
Still slow to never uploading. Other sites seem to work alright. Simple things like uprating a
comment just freezes up and return 'page could not be loaded'. Something buggy about this
new blue blob with the white eyes.
