The Dose 2-13-22

My Take on the Evolution of our C99 COVID Conversations

TheDose.jpg

Some within the community find this daily conversation divisive and full of misinformation. I'm sorry if you feel that way. I think of it as a cooperative investigation. I appreciate people bringing their research to The Dose.

Science is not monolithic. The nature of science involves debate as new evidence emerges and old ideas rejected. We've been subjected to a propaganda war from the start of the pandemic, and it is no wonder people come to an understanding from many directions. It is okay to see it differently. It is your body, your choice.

Why would we expect everyone to be in lockstep after being locked down? You are entitled to your perspective, but I'm entitled to mine. I'm sorry if my ideas and conclusions about the pandemic offends you. I've been a proponent of prevention and treatments from the start back in March of 2020. I think most of my suggestions have held up, but some were wrong given my current understanding. For example I thought we could catch COVID by touching contaminated items. We spent the first month leaving our groceries outside in sunlight for a few hours to clean them. I started early wearing KN95 masks. Both of those approaches I now think were wasted.

Part of the confusion was, to my mind, purposeful. Scared people are easy to manipulate. Studies were designed to fail because all treatments were to be suppressed. Vaccines were to be THE answer, the only answer. Prevention with Vitamin D, zinc and so on was never promoted...and still isn't. The extent and virulence of Sars-CoV-2 was to my mind exaggerated. This has been a deadly disease of primarily the elderly. The average age of COVID deaths in the UK is 82. The Great Barrington Declaration was correct in retrospect and the Falsie emails clearly explain that he wanted it to be suppressed, and engineered the negative public response.

All this is to say, no wonder people have come to different conclusions. Tolerance is my suggestion. Let people deal with it all as best they can. Make your own choice based on best evidence...not people behaving according to government edicts and mandates.

Sadly the MSM has misinformed people and the conversation is divisive and hostile rather than informative and educational. Prevent and treat has been a suppressed message, and we suffer the results of the faulty strategy.

I think the pandemic is winding down thanks to omicron. Others suggest it will mutate to a more virulent virus. We'll just have to wait and see which conclusion is correct. We should know in a couple of months. In the meantime, there's no reason to argue nor get upset that others don't see the situation like you do. COVID's most damaging aspect may be the division it has caused.

I'm fascinated by the Freedom Convoy and the clear division it has caused in Canada. The elites are squirming refusing to even discuss the end of the mandates. Canada had become a "show me your papers" state, and people are not accepting those terms demanding lifting all COVID mandates. Again we'll have to wait and see how this plays out. So far the Truckers are holding the line and thousands upon thousands of people have come out into their frigid winter weather in support.

So to wrap this up, we can see this disease differently and still get along. Let's all practice tolerance of others as we go forward.

What have you learned recently or conclusions have you reached?

I don't regard the Daily Dose as an argument. I regard it as an opportunity to sift through information, ideas, different perspectives and experiences. I don't feel obligated to 'prove my point' or argue about any of it. I just want to try and understand what's going on. The corporate media is intentionally misleading and apparently outright lying about this subject. I'm grateful for all the people here and elsewhere that are actively contributing information.

However, others say the conversation makes them uncomfortable.

I've learned lots of things here and appreciate everyone's research efforts.

Here are five things you need to know about Mass Formation Psychosis!

Mass formation psychosis is alleged to be a method of mind control that tyrannical rulers use over the people. In truth though, mass formation psychosis is a right wing conspiracy theory. It’s obviously not true along with 100% of all words that right wing people say.
Mattias Desmet has done a lot of research on this phenomenon. And now I get to teach you everything you need to know.

“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”

is pertinent to this topic. She say's ;

It takes a touch of madness to take seriously the possibility that your entire society is insane.

So many people seem to be distracted by so many petty issues while, as Johnstone says;

we’re staring down the barrel of extinction on multiple fronts while the depraved status quo becomes more and more entrenched, and you think it’s a wise expenditure of energy to sow division and trash the reputation of powerless people who don’t agree with you on one thing? Says a lot about your clarity.

I think a good antidote is to keep doing what we're collectively doing at C99. A cheer from
Johnstone;

So here’s to all you heroic lunatics, waking the world up one pair of eyelids at a time. The smileyface gear-turners might scoff at you right now, but the world needs you, not them.

Hurray for Cait. Her short essay here; https://caitlinjohnstone.com/2022/01/29/it-takes-a-touch-of-madness-note...

I like the original version of the above tune best. It is a little mad hatterish in its presentation...but a good fit I think.

Morning Lookout,

The Poisonous Jab (which both of us submitted to) may turn out to be the magic elixir that after many trials, tests and, fears that leads us safely home. Please excuse the mixing of Amazing Grace and fantasy.

Nevertheless, Mike the Pillow Guy and me, an old Lefty Gang Bernie graduate, are marching hand in hand these days. Black and White, young and old, all religions, colors ethnicities, all in this together.

Trucker Convoys are holding all over Canada. The Bridge Blockades remain in place. More Convoys arriving. More Blockades forming.

On the Ambassador Bridge one lane has been opened to allow some traffic to go through and it, too is holding. With a sensible adjustment.

In West Coast British Colombia the largest US/CA highway was shutdown last night.

The Media is relenting a bit. Gracelessly. NY Times while approaching some truth, still has to call the Protestors "a motley group." Yes. That's what the World is. NY Daily News, the same. Grudging and graceless. Add Drudge to that list. Grudging graceless and incorrect. Zero Hedge does much better.

Have a good day, everybody. Light snow in NYC this morning. Trees are frosted and it looks like a fairytale from my windows.

The tension will be released, one way or another. I imagined Pierre Troudeau's son running off to consult with Obama the OWS smasher immediately, he was not hiding he was getting tips and making plans for the big crush-a-roo soon to arrive upon the Canadian sides. It will take the piss out of all for a long time, I think because Canadians are not USians. If the truckers "win" today, please do tell me what we've won in the USA.

They are not protesting poisonous jabs or anything that's really messed up on this side of the border, as far as I can tell. Only covid mandates, right? I don't like the mandates either, if the truckers win they will get back to driving and thanks a lot, but then what have I won now? diesel plumes. Nothing. This is the USA, not Canada eh.

Nobody here where I live wants to see any borders shut for any reason. Oh wait I take that back. Undo! Undo! Maybe probably our mayor still wants Trump 2016 Build The Wall. That was his bumper sticker for years, he still lives around the corner from here but the truck is gone now. Wine Country trade in.

Cloverdale Mayor Thrown Out of Daughter’s Basketball Game

Cloverdale Mayor Todd Lands was booted from his daughter’s high school basketball game for threatening a referee. The North Coast Officials Association says two refs asked Lands to leave last Friday’s game between Cloverdale and Middletown High Schools. He was also ordered to stay home during Saturday’s game. The officials’ association says Lands walked on the court to berate two referees about a call they made. He allegedly said “if my daughter gets injured, I’ll see you out in the parking lot.” One of the refs tells the Press Democrat it was the first time he’s thrown a parent out of a game in more than a decade.

Xinhua Commentary: Good riddance, Trump administration and its final madness
2021-01-16
...
These irresponsible moves are a poison created by a handful of people attempting to promote selfish political interests at the cost of China-U.S. relations. The bilateral relationship is a giant vessel carrying the well-being of 1.4 billion Chinese and 300 million Americans. Also, other countries should have enough mental sobriety and vigilance to avoid being hijacked onto the U.S. chariot or being used as a tool to maintain U.S. hegemony.

It should be noted, above all, that those politicians have clearly overestimated their ability to influence the course of China-U.S. relations. Outwardly, they appear to be tough, but they are actually weak on the inside. They have also underestimated China's strength and determination to take all measures to safeguard its sovereignty, security and development interests.

China and the United States are actually in a good position to help each other succeed and can cooperate in lots of domains, including, but not limited to, the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic, tackling global climate change, and coping with the threat of nuclear proliferation and confrontation. U.S. policymakers in the future should not let this relationship be led astray by a small bunch of extreme forces.

No matter what other absurd measures Washington will introduce in the coming days to tarnish China-U.S. relations, they will not change the course of China's development and the course of China-U.S. relations. In other words, the anti-China policy of the current U.S. administration will only end in failure. China will maintain strong unity, conduct its own activities effectively and set its own calendar for doing so.

Certain U.S. politicians have left a reputation of destroyers of the international order, world peace and stability, and human rights in the world. Time is short for them to wake up to this reality and cure their madness, which is a stain in world history of development.

On a final note: good riddance to the current U.S. administration and its final madness.

We spent the first month leaving our groceries outside in sunlight for a few hours to clean them. I started early wearing KN95 masks. Both of those approaches I now think were wasted.

Depends on the environment, locality and such. I suspect that in places like the Bay Area, those locales that where people somewhat strictly engaged in masking, hand washing, social distancing and even package wipe downs the incidence and/or severity of colds and similarly transmittable diseases very likely dropped. After all those mechanisms do interfere with the transmission of colds, the flu and the like.

I mostly learned that the tendency to see thing in terms of absolutes and black & white dichotomies is almost overwhelming even everybody should know better, such that one needs to read and parse everything one reads very very carefully, especially if it originates from the twitstream or faceplant.

.

In general, the posts here are demonstrating far too much impatience. This will not be resolved in a matter of days or weeks, if at all. The truckers are waging asymmetrical non-violent warfare against whoever is driving the global policy of mandatory injections. As I posted before, the beauty of this campaign is that it has ONLY ONE DEMAND.

Within that context, every engagement with City, Provincial or Federal Canadian authorities should be evaluated by whether it gets the truckers closer or further away from the single goal. Honking horns in residential areas was a good tactic for letting the world know that a serious challenge has emerged from the ranks of working people. The risk of that tactic was that it could turn off potential supporters. Since the truckers had no supporters to begin with other than themselves this was a neglible risk. That horn honking contributed to the world wide movement that is getting under way.

But of course it is a pain in the ass to listen to truck horns all day, and the utility of the tactic has evaporated. Mission accomplished. So, in order to give the Mayor of Ottawa a positive reinforcement to his quite reasonable overture, the truckers gave up a tactic that they should have been ready to do about now any way.

When campaigns break your way, this is the kind of luck you get. Now, instead of trying to fight for the right to piss off the citizens of Ottawa, now they can pitch it to the rank and file as a legitimate initial victory -- getting a commitment to leave the demonstration at the Seat of Government unmolested.

Of course the pigs can renege on this deal at any moment -- which, in turn, will really antagonize the rank and file.

.

Clearly there are some Old School campaigners working with the truckers. Equally clear is the reality that the Canadian authorities are utterly bumfoozled by assymetrical non-violent warfare. I am pretty sure that Biden and the rest of the New Totalitarian Democrats will continue to be equally inept at responding to the growing rebellion.

Liberals are new to the totalitarian game and they don’t quite have the hang of it yet. They have been out of power since the Lyndon Johnson Administration, and of course six decades later that means today’s liberals have never been in power. I find it ironic that their only connection to the liberalism of the 60s is in the area of Civil Rights. LBJ is alleged to have said that he knew he had turned the country over to the Republicans for a generation when he jammed the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Bills through the byzantine institution called the United States Congress.

It turned out to be two generations, but with the elections of Obama and Biden, what is left of American Liberalism is now in control of Congress and the Presidency – and for the first time ever, the main stream media is now an active supporter of what is left of liberal ideology. That of course is the descendent of civil rights – identity politics.

The current agenda of social discipline to fight the pandemic is their first test since regaining power. Seemingly out of nowhere a well organized challenge to the very premise of social discipline has parked a whole bunch of trucks where they don’t belong, and you see how the politicians and their media cheerleaders have hit a brick wall.

They ORDER people to stop supporting those truck driver people who are wrong because we say so. Anybody who believes them is not worthy of any respect.

It’s a kind of Passive Aggressive Fascism.

Instead of Big Brother we now have Big Sibling who calls out those who need calling out and holds everyone accountable for their actions. And blah blah blah. The folks behind the curtain may not appreciate this lily livered approach to Social Discipline.

I wish we did not have to see the next chapter of this miserable dystopian novel we are living.

You connected LBJ to the current era of identity politics in a way that makes perfect sense.

That is difficult to do when that entire span of time is buried in blatant corruption throughout the elected Federal government. When I was a little kid and was told that anyone can grow up to be President, I thought that was really cool. Now I realize that is a mental booby trap for mediocrity. What we have is a congress consisting of the dregs of ignorance, arrogance, and greed. We have no criteria or qualification requirements for office that means anything. This bodes evil.

When I researched China's government system to see how they were able to accomplish so much so quickly and still have a 90+ percent approval rate from the people, I learned a lot about what democracy should look like. The Chinese people vote a lot more often and regularly than Americans do. And they have a lot more direct input into policy at every level than Americans, except for the fabulously wealthy and corrupt. In China, Party members are selected from the best of the most accomplished people in every field or service in society. There are more than 90 million of them, making the Party larger than most nations in the world. All Chinese are eligible to vote for every layer of office holders from local to city to county ro province.

At the top layer in Beijing, China does not have citizens who are professional "politicians." Those positions are held by the most esteemed and respected experts in every field of human endeavor, who have volunteered to devote themselves to serving their nation for a period of time. At the very top levels, it is not just enough to decide to volunteer. Those who wish to govern are sent back to a special university in Beijing in order to get another PhD in government knowledge, which includes 5000 years worth of history, philosophy, law, science, technology, and diplomacy. Only the finest graduates are eligible to sit on the high Counsil. And from them, the entire Council selects the finest minds and the most gifted leaders to rule the country.

When they make their multiyear Plans, all the People are eligible to submit proposals of what should be included. Each of those thousand or so proposals are considered by the council and responded to. The authors of the most popular proposals are invited to Bejing, in some cases, to make their proposal in person to the Assembly — they can be students, farmers, or workers in any field. It takes about a year to incorporate everything into a detailed five-year plan, and the entire Assembly works together on the process. The First Principle is always to make a plan that directly benefits the lives of the People.

It is little wonder that Western governments look like a cruel clown car filled with liars and thieves to the Chinese.

And they could fold up their tents over the next few weeks and say, more or less, "Thank God the vaccines finally worked and those idiots who protested it can go fuck themselves."

I suspect -- but of course do not know -- that vaccine is just the dry run. For what? I wish I knew but I am sure I won't like it when if ever the next gambit comes from Power.

Regardless, the rebellion already has answered the one question that I had about the politics of mandatory vaccination -- where would the blue collar majority wind up on all this?

That has been answered. So maybe they'll start World War III rather than accept defeat? Nothing, I mean nothing, is too weird to contemplate. Who would have guessed that a dozen or more national governments would simultaneously tell the same set of lies? Who would have guessed that Official Truth would become mandatory on pain of losing your livelihood or worse?

Seems drs. do not wish to discuss, or even put it in my patient info, that I may have long haul COVID rash. Yet, any time I mention it to a pharmacist, they immediately say, "yeah...try this."

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

Voting is like driving with a toy steering wheel.

@snoopydawg I have no recollection! I was taking Clarytin and generics.
Damn. You gotta slap me upside the head sometimes, chica!
