American truckers are planning the Convoy to DC 2022 after seeing what Canadian Truckers Freedom Convoy has done in Canada and the U.S-Canada border. This Freedom Convoy is tentatively planned for March 2022.
The Convoy to DC 2022 will be very similar to the Canadian Truckers Freedom Convoy but the one major difference will be the sheer size. Lets look at the numbers. Canada has between 35,000 - 60,000 owner operators nationwide. The U.S. by contrast has over 350,000 owner operator truck drivers and that number may be considerably higher when considering small carriers and those who refer to themselves as owner operator truckers.
This is because there are over 500,000 trucking companies in the United States and 80% of them are considered small trucking companies with fleet sizes of 6 trucks or less. With over 2,000,000 semi trucks on the road in the U.S., we can know one thing for sure, the American Convoy to DC will be sight to be seen and not easily forgotten.
Until very recently, there was a very large Facebook Group called Convoy to DC 2022 with over 130,000 members but unfortunately Facebook removed the group for one reason or another and recently news came out that the Biden Administration is doing everything it can to prevent this Freedom Convoy from happening.
The American Trucker Convoy to DC is supposed to start in California and go east from there all the way to Washington, DC and will likely take Interstate-40 since other routes may not be very practical depending on weather conditions.
It can be said that the truckers will take all the necessary time to make sure their demands are met. At the very least, they will take Two Weeks to Flatten the Curve and ask the State and Federal Governments to comply, so that things can get back to normal. After all, we're all in this together!
I continue to think omicron is providing natural immunity faster than TPTB expected. I think that's why Turdeau won't rescind the mandates. To me this makes it obvious it is about control, not public health!

I believe the health authorities have not taken enough of the related repercussions of the

Saw many gatherings in Canada yesterday. Cowboys on horseback arriving at Coutts, BC convoy, Edmonton gathering, Toronto, and other border crossings as well. Turdeau has lost the mandate fight (if he has any sense he will rescind the mandates). He could save face claiming he's following the science and other countries lead and the freedom convoy had nothing to do with it. Bet he's too arrogant.

He was generally supportive, but had the caveat that lockdowns reduced the demands on hospitals.
Had preventive measures and treatments been utilized and promoted, I think lockdowns were not needed for any reason. We just mishandled it all from the get go.

I was very disappointed in Dr John C yesterday. I watched a video from him with a title something like "India disappointed with Ivermectin". It was a very strange style of video for him. He usually is warm and sincere and presents things with incredible care for details. Using data from sources that he links to. And always adding caveats where needed- like "that appears to be what the data shows now" or "that is what this particular source appears to show", and qualifying statements about things like Vitamin D or zinc, "the effectiveness is only if this regimen is started well in advance of infection".
In this video he opened with a s#it eating grin. Both he and his guest (a Dr from Mumbai) had an odd mischevious sense about them. John asked the Dr about his experience treating critically ill patients. The challenge of deciding who might get treatment and who they had to turn down when beds were full and ventilators in short supply. This part of the conversation was serious and a little sad. But then they went back to their sly mischievous style. In the entire 27 minute video only about one minute was about Ivermectin. Paraphrasing, the doc said that they were no longer prescribing Iv as they had not found it useful. NO CAVEATS that Iv is most useful as a preventative. It has almost no use at all once someone is ready for a ventilator. Not even the most enthusiastic supporter of Iv has ever made the claim that it was statistically significantly helpful once you were on a ventilator. Surely there are some anecdotal stories of success at this point, but very little in the way of data and studies supporting its use once you are already practically dead.
The title of the video was misinforming click bait.
John actually used the phrase "what is your intuition" about the use of Iv!

No caveat that Iv is best used as a prophylactic.
How is it that you can disparage a product with no data. But have 6 out of 7 meta analysis supporting you isn't enough to talk it up without risk of censorship.

Different Indian provinces have different COVID-19
protocalls. The guy Campbell was interviewing was a government hack paid to discredit invermectin.
Ivermectin was banned in provinces where Modi's government is in control. These are noted for their high vaccination AND death rates. It is extremely difficult to get honest reporting from a state controlled media (just as it is in the US).

The countries that have eliminated mandates include:
the UK, Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, Norway, Finland, Italy, France, Switzerland, Ireland, Lithuania, and Israel has lifted their "green pass".
I think Canada is going to have difficulty continuing theirs given the broad support there to do away with them.

Been too busy to keep up lately. But as I understand the Joe Rogan broo-ha-ha... Some former anti-establishment free speech advocates like Neil Young, Steve Stills, and David Crosby that used to stick needles full of heroin in the arms, want everyone to shut up and do what the establishment says, stick a needle in us, and censor us if we question it? Got it. So sad to see. There are so many good things they could advocate for that would be of benefit. I would have guessed they would have seen the needle and the damage done.
We've been pretty cold here, some teens, single digit chills. Every year I age my zone of pleasant temperature tolerance shrinks about a degree on each end. Worst winter in twenty for birds here. Is it no food crops due to drought, or as many suggest, the big freeze last year this time.

Since the bears moved in and our feeders came down, bird activity is kind of disappointing here too. We have the usual suspects titmouse, cardinals, wrens and such. Heard the Barred owl this morning and the great horned the other day. So there is some, but not the show we got with a feeder out the window.

Still have a Big Bend birding trip in my mind. Fall is easier for me than spring for travel. Do you think there's good birding in say Sept - Oct in that part of the world?

Fall is the best season for birding in general IMHO. But, the breeders are gone or on their way out. Big difference too between Sept. when the last few of many species are still around, and Oct. when they are in Mexico or further south. So the neotropical migrants like warblers, vireros, thrushes, tanagers and such will be fewer in fall compared to spring and summer. All the resident non-migratory species will be around all the time. But some fancy stuff that is only there in the nesting season will be gone. Colima Warbler and Lucifer Hummingbird in particular, Big Bend's two flagship bird species. Almost all birders that go to Big Bend are looking primarily for those two species. Which are only present March to July or so.
During migration you want a light rain overnight to knock the migrants down. I have had some outstanding days in later Sept. in west Texas after an overnight shower. Oct. can be great too. The Davis Mtns. are also awesome out there, with pine forest you can drive to at elevation, an observatory, etc. In Big Bend you have to hike up a trail into the Chisos Mtns. to get to pine forest. 'The basin' where Chisos Lodge and a campground is, is a great place for a base, as is Rio Grande Village, and Santa Elena Canyon is a must see walk.

But, what does the easier to buy things bit mean?
And the threats to block food and fuel from reaching the truckers has been made again. The threat is that feeding the Truckers will lead to you being arrested. How can they police that? Yesterday supplies were brought to the truckers on wagons.

These are the doctors Peter McCullough introduced to us yesterday. Tonight they joined the Press Event.
Main portion of the Presser concerned the Ottawa Police confiscating fuel. According to the speakers, this will not affect the Convoyat all. Just as was asserted earlier today, the Truckers will find a way to get whatever they need.
One of the doctors was more fiery. He called vaccinating our kids, "Child Sacrifice," and pointed out that it did not work for the Aztec or for tribes that wanted rain.

Convoy and Clarity
We have been on a confusing ride for the last two years. My personal frustration has been most acute when facing the whirligig of shifting rationales and contradictory claims like vaccines simultaneously keep you from being infected while also reducing your symptoms when you get infected. Close behind is the weaseling bibble babble that tries to rationalize non sequiturs like that rap with numbers and comparable percentages that do not even try to defend the original lie about preventing infection.
The result of all this science inflected bullshit has been mass confusion and extreme polarization of world views.
The Convoys cut through all the crap and raise one and only one issue -- stop the mandates.
Instead of the Home Team explaining to a confused citizenry why the mandates are necessary, we see a coordinated political attack on the personalities driving those trucks. The choice now is clarified. You can believe the authorities are correct in mandating vaccination. Or you can disagree. Call it a scientific debate if you want to, but the question is the same. And if science cannot explain itself to the truck driver's satisfaction, the confrontation continues.
