Guess I better put up another COVID OT as well. Saw a couple of interesting items yesterday related to the now endemic infection...

The first item is no surprise and reinforces my broken record response this disease is being managed for profit...

but saw this early this morning in NC from the Canadian Medical Association Journal: https://www.cmaj.ca/sites/default/files/additional-assets/site/press/cma...

There is a lot of prognostication going on from everywhere about the course of this pandemic including declaring it over, but it seems caution may be useful.

This research paper concludes that the new Variants of Concern (VOC) have the potential to cause even more serious contagion than we have yet seen. It seems unwise and premature to let our guard down.

So I would suggest, we'll have to wait and see what happens next. Caution seems wise to me as well.

Thanks for the link and am happy to post this simple OT. The WW requires much more to assemble...looking at our economy in this weeks column, and boy howdy is it a mess to unravel!

Have a good day!

@Raggedy Ann

What I'm unsure about is if it was purposeful or if it is just taking advantage of a crisis...you know never let a crisis go to waste.

Max mentioned several pandemic simulations run by various groups and foundations.
Snopes says no to the Rokefellow simulation from 2010
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/rockefeller-operation-lockstep/
but there were other simulations as well
Like the one by the Gates foundation in Oct of 2019
https://www.centerforhealthsecurity.org/event201/about

The basic conclusion of the Event 201 exercise—that we were nowhere near ready to handle the next outbreak—has proven frightfully true over the past year.

And John Hopkins in 2017
https://www.centerforhealthsecurity.org/our-work/Center-projects/complet...

So three major simulation games over the last decade, but we were still so poorly prepared. Gotta admit it is suspicious. Add in a lab created virus and you can really be a CTist.

@Lookout Taking advantage of a crisis. Might be giving TPTB too much credit to have been organized and sneaky enough to plan this such that it looks like negligence or malfeasance by China, our adversary.

I'm also fairly confident this was an accidental lab leak. Still TBD is whether it emerged from a bioresearch or bioweapons lab or lab with US "gain of function" connections, and further whether the Chinese govt was fully apprised in any scenario. Sometimes we assume anything of that serious nature would be known by the top authorities in a tightly controlled context like China, but this may not be correct. I assume there was a govt coverup, in the immediate aftermath of the leak, but that is from our msm sources and may not be accurate, and in any case it may just signal face-saving activity to prevent national embarrassment rather than more sinister reasons.

Otherwise, it seems we've previously declared victory over this virus a few times before, so I'm keeping my Ivermectin dry about these latest rosy projections.

Is the Tide Finally Starting to Turn on Covid as an American Biowarfare Attack?
Ron Unz • October 4, 2021

During the last eighteen months, I think I’ve stood nearly alone on the Internet in arguing that the late 2019 Covid outbreak that began in Wuhan, China was probably the result of an American biowarfare attack conducted by rogue elements of our own national security establishment.

The individual articles in my long series have been viewed some 350,000 times, but with rather few exceptions almost no one has publicly endorsed such an extremely controversial hypothesis, and almost as few of the multitude of readers have even been willing to acknowledged its existence.

However, that unfortunate situation may now be starting to change. Just a couple of days ago, an influential MAGA/Trumpist website called The Conservative Treehouse published a 1,400 word piece strongly suggesting that America’s “Fourth Branch of Government,” namely our intelligence services, were quite possibly responsible for the Covid epidemic, and even concurring with me that former Secretary of State and CIA Director Mike Pompeo seems the individual most likely to know who was really responsible.

Did The Fourth Branch of Government Release SARS-CoV-2 Then Blame China
The Conservative Treehouse • October 4, 2021 • 1,400 Words

The motives suggested are somewhat different from my own, with the alleged goal being to help ensure Trump’s defeat for reelection, and other details are also at variance with my analysis. But these are secondary matters of little importance compared to general agreement on the overriding question of “Who Did It?” and I have anyway never claimed much certainty in my speculations about “Why?”

Dean Baker explains how our policies with drug pricing hurt the American people: https://www.counterpunch.org/2021/10/07/high-drug-prices-and-the-refusal...

The more important part of this story is that the conventional calculations of the debt leave out the higher prices that we will pay for items like prescription drugs because of government-granted patent and copyright monopolies. This is a huge burden, which is many times larger than the debt burden, but policy types and reporters refuse to ever talk about it for some reason.

By my calculations, the higher cost due to patent monopolies and related protections comes to more than $400 billion (1.8 percent of GDP) in the case of prescription drugs alone.

and my comment today is about Testing.

My opinion about testing is similar to my understanding of photos and election polling. That is, they are all snapshots in time. We don't get to see what happens an hour later. What's the point of Covid tests? Cannot be memories as photos are, or talking points for whoever pays for the election polls, so WTF.

Covid testing is still going strong and some countries distribute at home instant response tests for no charge. The US is ramping up to provide at home tests, but Quelle suprise! at a significant charge.

So profit---of course---is one motive. Are there any other reasons to get a Covid Test?

I never had one, but I sure did roll up my sleeve for 2 shots that have made me sick. So What do I know? Not much.

They were too cheap I guess.

The reason in my mind for testing is to make sure asymptomatic people don't go around spreading the virus. On a personal level (as no longer a public school teacher) I wouldn't test unless I did feel symptoms...and Delta is very cold like.

today that medical professionals who dissent from the Covid vaccine party line are being picked off one by one. The latest example: "UC Irvine has placed their Director of Medical Ethics, Dr. Aaron Kheriaty, on 'investigatory leave' after he challenged the constitutionality of the UC's vaccine mandate in regards to individuals who have recovered from Covid and have naturally-acquired immunity." https://www.zerohedge.com/covid-19/uc-irvine-director-medical-ethics-pla...

Dr Kheriaty has filed 2 lawsuits, against UC and the state of CA, challenging the vaccine mandates on fed constitutional grounds. He sees UC's move to place him on a very restrictive "investigatory leave" as pressure to force him to resign as it considerably diminishes his income earning ability. He also warns in his newsletter that the current mandates, if not stopped, could lead to even greater limits on our freedoms and continue for a long time or become permanent.

if the link to this paper has been posted here before, my apologies if it has. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0146280621002267

The paper is by Dr. J. Rose and is about Myocarditis AE's from the Covid vaccine. She writes that ..."hundreds of thousands of individuals have reported [general] adverse events (AEs) using the Vaccine Adverse Events Reports System (VAERS)".

With regard to Myocarditis specifically, she compares different age groups with the AE of Myocarditis.

We used VAERS data to examine cardiac AEs, primarily myocarditis, reported following injection of the first or second dose of the COVID-19 injectable products. Myocarditis rates reported in VAERS were significantly higher in youths between the ages of 13 to 23 with ∼80% occurring in males. Within 8 weeks of the public offering of COVID-19 products to the 12-15-year-old age group, we found 19 times the expected number of myocarditis cases in the vaccination volunteers over background myocarditis rates for this age group. In addition, a 5-fold increase in myocarditis rate was observed subsequent to dose 2 as opposed to dose 1 in 15-year-old males. A total of 67% of all cases occurred with BNT162b2. Of the total myocarditis AE reports, 6 individuals died (1.1%) and of these, 2 were under 20 years of age - 1 was 13. These findings suggest a markedly higher risk for myocarditis subsequent to COVID-19 injectable product use than for other known vaccines, and this is well above known background rates for myocarditis.

For those interested in the VAERS associated with Covid vaccine, the whole paper is interesting.

@randtntx

It causes permanent damage to the heart and it appears that it’s not that rare either when it comes to the vaccines. 3 countries have stopped giving them to the younger people because of how often it’s happening. That Pfizer is going ahead with getting authorization to inject kids is unforgivable IMO. Most kids that get infected rarely go on to get sick and if they do they recover quickly. Sure there have been some that developed long Covid and some have died from it, but not enough to risk lots of others. And we don’t know if the ones who died had underlying health issues.

And it makes no sense to give them to kids that have been infected because of the risks to them. My gawd can’t we get back to believing in the science of medicine now? Too much of this makes no sense when you see who is involved in the decision making. Moderna was on the verge of having to close shop because they couldn’t work through the toxins in the 1st injection of the Rmra. And it appears that still hasn’t been resolved.

As for the vaccine mandates not one of them have been given total approval by the FDA. The Pfizer one is still under EAU because they aren’t giving the Comity one in this country yet. The mandates are tricking people into believing that they have been approved and they are totally safe. I’d think all the people who have been let go because they didn’t get vaccinated will have a good case for lawsuits. Biden hasn’t completed the order for OSHA to do its thing yet either. Some think it was a bluff to get people to take them.
