“Nothing divine dies. All good is eternally reproductive. The beauty of nature reforms itself in the mind, and not for barren contemplation, but for new creation.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nature

Welcome to your Wednesday open thread. Today's essay is inspired by nature and all the beauty
she represents. A mellow vibe of contentment. As in being surrounded by green, the silence only
punctuated by song birds. Ahh.

If I must be rooted, plant my feet in rich soil, let my womanly flesh harden to bark, and let my limbs, robust in sleeves of evergreen, keep reaching for the sun.

This is a jumping off point. Please add that which suits your fancy.

The woods thrush sing me awake these days. So lovely. We, too, are in a sea of green as summer encroaches.

Love your sculpture. Here's another nice one from the Atlanta bot garden...

Lately, is has been the cat birds with their ever-changing string of notes that start just before dawn.
I like your many shades of green sculpture. Reminds me of this one...

It's beautiful to see the feminine energy, that is now enveloping the planet, being prominently displayed. Great images from you and Lookout. Many thanks for that!

Enjoy the day! Pleasantry

Yes, have always considered nature as being in the feminine aspect.
Nurturing our souls and spirits, propagating and caring.
Beauty and delicacy.

You have a great one too!

A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they know they shall never sit. Allegedly Greek, but more possibly fairly modern quote.

This tune was supposed to go in the essay, but got lost somehow.
First heard it while driving thru the Colorado mountains, many moons past.
Uplifting, although somewhat sad. Free as a bird was I then.

Speaking of beautiful days ..

cheers!

finally get to sit down and check out what's up on c99. Looks like CA is having a small resurgence of covid, but all in the "you're not the boss of me" counties that are heavy into denying that it's real or that any remedies so far proposed can help, I sure hope that full reopening in the rest of the state won't get hung up because the Jefferson wannabees are making each other sick.

be well and have a good one
