Daily News supporting Yang????
Must be June Fools Day or something. Upside Down Day.
Meanwhile.....
Andrew is going after Bill de Blasio hard these days. hmmm.
Inside info: de Blasio supports Eric Adams in a quid pro quo----something for something----trade.
de Blasio wants Adam's support for Chirlane McCray, Bill's wife, to succeed Adams as Brooklyn Borough President.
Politics as usual in our urban banana republic.

starting with our wars upon the indians, ouor wars and military
engagement in response to attacks upon our nation comprise a negligible fraction of our combat operations. WWII, Tripoli (piracy against US shipping), arguably 1812, the tiny fraction of Afghanistan that could be considered a lefit response to 911, even if you toss in WWI that's it.

Bibi must be getting worried.
Is he biting the hand that feeds him?

In a speech reacting to this possibility Bibi said this.

Veterans For Peace sent me an E-mail today...
FUCK WAR
We are tired of parades, memorials and pageantry.
Take back your “thank you for your service” and 50% off sales.
We want people to live without threats of U.S. bullets and bombs.
We remember the enormous loss of civilian life that is forgotten in today’s memorials and hidden from view in the U.S. consciousness. America has no space on its calendar to memorialize these victims.
We grieve the loss of friends and the death of veterans unable to forget the tragedies and forgive themselves.
We are ANGRY that there is a holiday that glorifies nationalism and patriotism and ignores the trauma that U.S. militarism enacts all over the globe.
We are filled with rage as we continue to watch the empty political platitudes from the two largest political parties praising soldiers and veterans as they continue to send them off to wars that line the pockets of the rich.
We are frustrated that mainstream media and popular culture glorifies U.S. militarism.
We are exhausted from nightmares of our participation and the images of ongoing trauma from a system of violence we once propped up. We live with the wounds of our moral injuries, scabs that we can’t let heal for fear we’d recreate the injury.
On Memorial Day we don’t want to remember and we are afraid we will forget.
All we know for sure is...
Fuck War
Well, geez. Congratulations, VfP, you get a huge donation.

Yes Virginia, there is a Global Banking Conspiracy!
Did they send you a link?
I know several vets, including myself that would love to spread that and donate.
Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.
A link?
EDIT: You're welcome. ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
I had no idea you were a veteran; I'm sorry. You do often come across as very 'broken', and that would explain a lot as to why.

evening moonbat...
I hope everyone enjoyed their celebratory meals today!
I did a quick drive to Colorado, then dropped back by a friend's place near Dallas. I and TLOML decided to go only country roads for the drive back home. In so doing, we went through a lovely town, and decided on the spot, we would be back to see the sights. The countryside is beautiful all the way!
Enjoy!

evening otc...
sounds like you had a day of serious driving! glad to hear you enjoyed it.
have a great evening!
First night was spent in Trinidad, CO.
The drive home today was a total avoidance of interstate. We skirted about Waco, Bryan, Huntsville, and were on country roads I had never traveled. It was great not to be in a hurry, and if I could retire tomorrow, I would want to build a cabin on one of those hills, and raise a few Longhorns. Man, oh man, it was beautiful.
What was best: BBQ or Indian food? You decide.

heh...
bbq, of course. i mean, the tandoori chicken was delicious and all, but well bbq is an artform.
Yeppers. BBQ
We fire up the grill about 3 times a week, pretty much throughout the year. And since Texas is renown for BBQ, the stores carry the rubs and spices you likely can't buy in other states.
If we hadn't been a bit tired from the long drive home, we would have grilled some pork chops.
That will be postponed until tomorrow evening, since everyday is a holiday for us.

Living in Nacogdoches I'd take Hwy 204 towards Ft. Worth
A great two lane rolling hills scenery thru Cushing, Reklaw (Walker spelled backwards, only one Walker Tx allowed) up to Jacksonville then hwy 175 thru Athens, Kaufman and Seagoville (past the prison) then I'd get on hwy 20.
So the majority of my trips to Ft.Worth and back were all on the secondary roads, all prettier and a lot less hectic traffic and cops.
I have never traveled that route before.
I always drive through Nacogdoches on Hwy 59 and head to Texarkana, always north, never turn east or west. I am 11 miles from Hwy.59, 28 miles from I 45. I normally just get on them and go a straight shot to destination. I am thinking about making plans to weekend in scenic places with drives such as you describe.

I have some thoughts about driving that route worth knowing
Yes it is a pretty route with hills but as I told a friend of mine driving that route back to Fort Worth, watch your speed when you top a hill because sometimes the Highway Patrol sets up at the bottom of the hill with radar to catch people speeding before they see the cop car.
There's a highway patrol office in Rusk so it's in their area.
I go over the speed limit, not a lot, but I make sure I'm not over the limit when I top the hills.
One time coming back from Ft. Worth just off of 175 at Jacksonville and at the start of hwy 204 towards Nac I was stopped for a taillight being out.
I told the officer it was a loose wire and he let me open the trunk and reconnect it, he gave me a roadside sobriety test, which I passed, but in the meantime he chatted a lot, telling me how people of course slow down when they see him but tend to think when they are a couple of hills away he is a thing of the past and pick up their speed.
He smiled saying right after they pass by him he sometimes sets up at the top of the hill with the beam aimed right across the top of the highway hills "and bing they're right back on my radar".
So I top all the hills at the speed limit and if the coast is clear I go over the speed limit but I'm at the speed limit when I hit the top of the next hill.
One thing you can do wrong is topping the hills awful quick for doing the speed limit the whole way.
Maybe this is useful, maybe not to you but if you know someone taking that route it might be helpful. I know it helped my friend.
Hills are hideaways for cops. As are driveways to farm/ranch
You are correct about getting out of radar distance.
What I see are the 75 mph to 55 mph to 45 mph to 30 mph speed traps. Always a cop at the 45 to 30 stretches.
While I pick and choose when to exceed to speed limit, it is typically when I am in a fast crowd on an interstate, or a country road when a few miles of flat road is available.
I am absolutely going to find your suggested route, make a weekend plan.

This is priceless but it is SPOT ON!

I run windoze10/firefox88.01 and for the last 3 months or so an
update broke inline loading of all tweets and some pictures. I adjusted all the tracking permissions one way then another it would not load posted tweet in articles & comments..
Until some point over the weekend now things are working again.

i use firefox, too. it periodically breaks and refuses to load tweets (which i have to say is pretty annoying) and so far has always "fixed itself" within a few days without me doing anything.
