yeah well lunachickie made me do it!

My father told me, lying on his bed of death,
"Boy," he says, "woman she's gonna make it, don't fool your self
'Cause she's got something to make a man lay that money, uh, right in her hand
And the very thing that makes her rich will make you poor
The very thing that makes her rich will make you poor
That's right!
Well, I put you behind the wheel of a deuce and a quarter, yes I did
Had you living like a rich man's daughter, yes I did, I sure did
While you were living high on the hog
You had me down here scuffling like a dog
Well, the very thing that makes you rich makes me poor
The very thing that makes you rich makes me poor
Don't you never ever make such a bad mistake
You know I'd rather climb into bed with a rattlesnake
Then to work hard every day bringing that woman all my pay
The very thing that makes you rich makes me poor,
Makes me so damn poor
The thing that makes her rich makes me poor
The very thing that makes you rich make me poor
Very thing that makes you rich makes me poor
Makes me so damned poor
Money won't change it, no no...

Right on, Lady L. I'm clocking out - punch card here - and off
to lunch and my garage. Have a great afternoon, folks.

Through the generations
Happy Saturday LL.
An interesting sidebar, Jim Dickson, father of Luther and Cody of NMA, was Ry Cooder's touring keyboard player and mentor to Cody and Luther.

Something I found yesterday
Went to TOS to message a homeless user, and realized I still had a help desk tab open on my phone. Curiosity killed the cat, as they say, and I found a tid bit that made me cringe.
TOS is officially Fox News! I know we all pretty much knew this, but now it's in writing - by staff.
On to other things, I'm working in a place where it appears that I'm witnessing racism - from brown to black. The last 3 people to be fired were all black. I was there for one of them. There are at least 2 EEOC cases open against the company. If I am asked, I will tell the truth about the blatant favoritism on display by management, and flagrant unbalanced enforcement of rules that got the last kid fired, but others openly break, right in front of management.
It makes for a very uncomfortable place to work. Advice, anyone? I've already begun documenting what I see.
Oh, and it's not really "brown" but anyone with a Hispanic sir name that gets special treatment. I'd say >90% fall into that category at this location. Other locations around the country are much more diverse, so it's not a company thing, I don't think, but just a problem at this location.
Often overlooked, my first exposure to Ry Cooder
was in his role as producer and arranger, as well the only other guitarist, on Neil Young's first solo album "Neil Young." A quick Wiki list:
I'll put up the three Ry co-arranged, among my favorites on the album. If your not familiar with this Neil Young album, or this period of Ry Cooder's career, this album stands tall with both their best.[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dz8n63IaHSk][video:https://www.youtube.c...
My favorite arrangement of

My favorite for sentimental reasons. Used to sing it with nana.

Love the lyrics here
like "the broken-promise land"
To thine own self be true.
Here's Ry Cooder singing and playing it
Good video of the border
To thine own self be true.
also godlike
is Cooder's soundtrack to Paris, Texas.
And, if ever you hear, the music, rendered below, while also gazing at Wim Wenders' images, you will never forget, either.
For they are, so, together, and so achingly, Real.
