Finally!! An Actual Case of Election Fraud

Trump on phone.jpg

President Donald Trump pushed Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to "find" votes to overturn the election results after his loss to President-elect Joe Biden, according to an audio recording of a phone call obtained by CNN and first reported by the Washington Post.

In excerpts of the stunning one-hour phone call Saturday, Trump lambasted his fellow Republican for refusing to falsely say that he won the election in Georgia and repeatedly touted baseless claims of election fraud.

"The people of Georgia are angry, the people of the country are angry. And there's nothing wrong with saying that, you know, um, that you've recalculated," Trump said in one part of the call. Raffensperger responded, "Well, Mr. President, the challenge that you have is, the data you have is wrong."

In the 70s, when Nixon did his dirty deeds, even Republicans came out against him. Nowadays, Republicans are lining up to proclaim that Trump is God and Joe Biden didn't win the election.

We are doomed.

@edg came out against Nixon. There weren't many newbie Republicans in 1974 (GOP lost two Senate seats in 1972 and gained twelve in the House leaving them with 192 to the Democrats 242) and those that existed didn't go on record either way. 2020 'old guard' Republicans have no sense of decency or shame, but even they aren't on the Trumpmobile.

Seems to me that those in Congress backing Trump's challenge are doing so to avoid a 2022 primary challenge and/or seeking the 2024 GOP presidential nomination. IOW catering to the Republican nutcase base.

Hawley plans to run in 2024. He's younger and more likable than Cruz. Cruz is trying to neutralize him by leading the Gang of 12.

remained totally ignorant of one of the latest GOP crazies. Won't bother checking further on Hawley unless or until he rises to the top of the scum pond.

Cruz, of course, still harbors WH dreams, but he's up for re-election in 2024 and could face a primary challenger.

The dirty dozen:

The new faction of GOP lawmakers includes Sens. Marsha Blackburn (Tenn.), Mike Braun (Ind.), Cruz (Texas), Steve Daines (Mont.), Ron Johnson (Wis.), John Kennedy (La.) and James Lankford (Okla.), as well as Sen.-elects Bill Hagerty (Tenn.), Cynthia Lummis (Wyo.), Roger Marshall (Kan.) and Tommy Tuberville (Ala.).

Lankford, Johnson and Kennedy are all up for reelection in 2022, and the vote will effectively become a wedge issue within the Republican Party.

Might be a winner in their next primaries, but for POTUS aspirants, it will be a general election loser.

broken at least one GA law:

The board’s senior member specifically cited to GA Code § 21-2-603 and GA Code § 21-2-604, which prohibit conspiracy to commit election fraud and criminal solicitation to commit election fraud, respectively. Worley asked that an investigation be opened to determine whether Trump violated the law through “solicitation to commit election fraud.”

Guess he expects the GA governor to pardon him on this since this isn't one he can do himself.

The one that Trump called an obstructionist that refuses to admit Trump won Georgia? The one Trump said should resign from office? The one Trump called a fool? The one about whom Trump retweeted a demand to jail him? That one? I'm sure he'll pardon Trump. Who wouldn't, with that kind of love coming your way?

among politicians. Foes one day and BFF a day later. Maybe a few months or years later if the foes aren't in the same political party. They're far more skilled at forgetting or letting bygones be bygones than healthy humans.

If this isn't election fraud, I guess I don't know what it looks like. Even if Trump were to be prosecuted and found guilty of election fraud, I don't think it would hurt his standing with his base one little bit. In fact, it might help his street cred.

Back when the '91 Louisiana governor election was between David Duke and corrupt Edwin Edwards, the Edwards campaign put out thousands and thousands of bumper stickers proclaiming: "VOTE FOR THE CROOK: IT'S IMPORTANT"

I imagine that since Trump is undoubtedly looking forward to 2024, he's likely contacted David Duke to find whether there are any surplus "Vote for the Crook" stickers. If Duke is out of them, I guess Trump can always order a new batch...

The WWSW reports with an article, In Georgia speech, Trump pledges to overturn election result, that the MSN hasn't reported the worst of Trump's call to Georgia. An example:

As the WSWS reported yesterday, at one point during the call, Trump railed against a female election worker in Fulton County (Atlanta) who has become a target for social media death threats because of completely false allegations that she ran a batch of ballots through a counting machine several times, tripling the vote total in the heavily Democratic area. Trump mentioned this worker by name several dozen times in the course of the hour-long call, but it has been blipped out for her own safety. At one point he said:

"So what are we going to do here folks? I only need 11,000 votes. Fellas, I need 11,000 votes. Give me a break. You know, we have that in spades already. Or we can keep it going but that’s not fair to the voters of Georgia because they’re going to see what happened and they’re going to see what happened. I mean, I’ll, I’ll take on to anybody you want with regard to [name of election worker] and her lovely daughter, a very lovely young lady, I’m sure."

The last sentence, uttered in the style of a mob boss, was nothing less than a death threat against the election worker and her child.
