Signal Wave, aka Brain Fart

So a lot of things have been going on, including changing out my old, teetering-on-its-last-legs computer for a new one, and I totally forgot to put up an OT. Mea culpa. I am an idiot. Please believe it was a failure of the brain, and not of the heart.
I hope you all are doing OK out there. May you make your way through this pathetic Empire today without incurring new damage. May you find unexpected sources of joy.
And may you find it in your heart to forgive this doofus contributor.

Forgiven. Good morning
How are you other than a memory lapse.
Actually, a little worn out.
I've been helping my mom put up her Christmas tree, doing Christmas stuff here, and repeatedly hauling my plants in and out of shelter according to whether it's gonna freeze or not. Some of those plants are *heavy*. Well, some of them are trees, or close to it. I keep telling myself someday I'm gonna invest in Versailles planters:
It might not be obvious in the picture, but those babies have wheels. When you think about it, why should any planter or pot over a certain size *not* have wheels?

Those flowers are gorgeous
Get some rest if you can.
Of course, sometimes, I blue-sky and imagine this:
Or maybe even this!
I think it could be really cool to have a greenhouse attached to your house. Of course, there might be logistical issues that would forbid that (other than just the cost).

The first picture seems the most
Here's what's really embarrassing...
The memory lapse was that I forgot what day it was. D'oh!

LOL. That is the most logical forgetting.
Good morning CSTMS. Absolutely forgivable and forgiven.
Greenhouses are the answer, and My temptations keep going in that direction. FWIW, Ihave, overe the years, made many very large planters, often for small trees, with casters. Some are even 4 feet on a side and 4 feet deep. After the first prototype, I learned to make one side removable to allow for pruning the roots and adding fresh soil. That allows one to prune the top and the roots in balance and more or less have a perpetual dwarfed tree, such as our Italian bay, which is still only about 4 feet tall, measured from the soil level in the box. One thing is that casters will sink into the soil or other substrate and even, over time, dent or compress soft wood floors, patios, etc. One should really have wide rollers of fairly good diameter for heavier boxes.
Sorry about your machine, but there is invariably pleasure as well as hassle with an upgrade, so enjoy the good part.
PS - wondered where you were.
PPS - Wōdnesdæg, alternatively Mittwoch, replacing Wodenstag, which is easier to remember as the "middle" of the week but it is really only the middle of the standard 5 day work week except for those who start their week on Sunday. I personally prefer "the day the garbage goes out", but that only works in certain neighborhoods, followed closely by "yesterday was Tuesday, right?"

Well, to be completely honest,
the reason I forgot it was Wednesday is because my Tuesday was unusual. Something that usually occurs on Tuesday didn't--and something that usually occurs on Wednesday was rescheduled to Tuesday. Apparently that was enough to make my brain think that yesterday was Wednesday.

That'll definitely do it, and does it here often enough,
one or both of us loses a day sufficiently often that it isn't any big deal.

What a great idea for tree planters...
definitely passing it along to Kate (right now)

Good afternoon, CSTMS
Try to think of moving plants inside to outside, back to inside, as good exercise. And think about smaller plants, less plants, and maybe how much a pal might like to have one of big plants...
Screwing up a day of the week is not as bad as not being sure of the month or date. I peg appointment days or court days by which day of the week they are set, and never look at a calendar, except for drs. appointments and travel arrangements. I rarely remember my birthday until someone calls and wishes me Happy Birthday!
Hope all is well with you and yours.

We're doing OK. Just a little tired.
Kate and I have been doing some serious work on our habits.

Watering Wednesday...
is my marker here. The day to water the house plants.
Take care and be well!

That's a good idea.
What do you do in a freeze?

The plants are inside...
this time of year. I meant to add sometimes I forget to water on Wednesday in which case it makes for a thirsty Thursday.

Just like here.
We moved all of our overwintering plants inside for the duration just before Halloween, and they now live in an old wrought iron baker's rack from Salvation Army in our southwest-facing kitchen sliding glass door for the maximum sunshine. We only overwinter herbs, basically, along with a few succulents (keeping an aloe going has value if you cook a lot!).
We gave our rosemary a major haircut so that she can live down on the bottom tier of the rack, and I'm doing my usual thing of rooting all the cuttings so that we have Christmas gifts for random folks. But it is really nice to be able to just take a couple of steps from the cutting board and have the majority of our favorite herbs available fresh for the cutting all winter.
Here at 6700 feet in the foothills of the Rockies, the humidity all winter runs someplace between "dessicant packet" and "you gotta be kidding", so Watering Wednesday (and Saturday!) really takes on some weight. I don't get to miss without paying a penalty in crispy cilantro or wilted basil...
Be well, and soon come!
