No help is coming

It might not mean anything, but it’s good to see Wolf calling Pelosi out like this. Good for Ro too.

Watch the last 20 seconds of the clip. Wolf says that some democrats that lost their election do blame Pelosi for it.

The thing is that Pelosi never passed it out of the house to make McConnell vote on it. Why did she protect McConnell? Maybe McConnell would have lost if people were pissed off because he didn’t get them help.

Second Update David Dayen: Why Pelosi is TO BLAME for coronavirus economic disaster. Dayen discusses how Pelosi was 1st selected to congress, her commitment to austerity and other stuff. That there has been a discussion for many months on whether to get help to the people should be an outrage and yet lots of people do not think that it is the governments job to help we the people. This is what constant Reagan-ite propaganda has gotten us. And why they use it. It works and they are patient when waiting for it to do so.

who voted for any of these yahoos think was going to happen? OUR GOVERNMENT IS NOT HERE TO SERVE THE 99%. Once everyone gets that through our collective heads, we can unify and move forward. This government must be destroyed. A new government must be formed. That is what everyone should be working on instead of falling back to sleep because Herr Drumpf hs been ousted by the oligarchy and Jomentia has been inserted by them. It's time to stop complaining about these do-nothing assholes and get to work.

who Joe Biden is. To be fair, Obama had such a limited track record that we could be forgiven for giving him the benefit of the doubt. But Biden was sworn into the Senate in 1973. Nixon was President. He was out of office for the last 4 years, but that's it. The man is now 78, he isn't going to change.
Once big business, the wealthy, and the MIC have been taken care of, the deficit is the overriding concern. We need to be bipartisan and work with the Republicans, progressives can take a hike.
There was never a chance it would be any other way.

How much Biden is telling us that we are beneath his contempt. But of course it’s not only Biden. It’s the financial goons who are pushing austerity while they continue asset stripping the country with congress consent.

Can you even imagine sitting down and discussing how you are going to let tens of millions of people get kicked out of their homes in the winter during a f’cking epidemic? Is heinous the appropriate word here or will something else fit? This is a crime against humanity on a massive scale.

@wendy davis depraved indifference is what popped into my mind first.

Then I remember how struck I was when Biden said that "we had a duty of care" to one another.

That seemed so out of step with what I expected to hear.

My reason tells me how this is going to go.

The tiny little optimistic voice that occupies a corner of my brain is holding out a smidgen of hope for all those about to be evicted this cruel winter.

@snoopydawg They are purposely, consciously hurting people. This is nothing if not evil.

But wait, it gets worse! Apparently there's such a thing as at-will renting now--your landlord can choose to not renew your lease and not even have to give you a reason why. (Saw it mentioned on Reddit the other day.)

To quote Homer Simpson, "Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand!"

One was on KSL about a guy who has months to live and his landlord is not redoing his lease. He knows the guy is dying, but won’t change his mind. That’s cold.

They are using any excuse they can to get people out of their apartments. I used to wonder who would they get to rent if they kick out so many. I think it’s going to be the current middle class that is now falling behind and they will lose their homes and rent the empty apartments. We’ve been talking about how it was the middle class turn now that they have destroyed the job economy for low income workers. The PTB plan these things out well in advance and then they strike.

We’ve survived all the talks about cuts to social security and Medicare, but I feel that time is coming to a close with Biden. I watched an older episode of Rising and they talked about how Obama’s budget had $350 billion cuts to Medicare. I don’t know if it passed, but there’s stinky Barack again trying his best to hurt us.

Nancy Pelosi Sells Out The Public: Agrees To Put Massive Copyright Reform In 'Must Pass' Spending Bill

know everyone is focused on Trump's attempt to take away Section 230 in the NDAA, but an equally important issue is that members of Congress have been trying to do Hollywood's bidding and sneak massive copyright reform into a must-pass government appropriations bill. The CASE Act has many problems that we've discussed, including the fact that it would unleash a wave of copyright trolling for people accidentally or innocently sharing works they don't realize are covered by copyright. There are also significant Constitutional problems with it, in that it routes around the Title III courts by handing disputes about private rights to the executive branch. That's not allowed.

But rather than actually discussing and debating those issues, and fixing the bill to make sure it is constitutional and protects the public, we've heard from three different sources that Nancy Pelosi has given the go-ahead in the House to include the CASE Act in the spending bill. As we said earlier this week, if you're trying to ram through a bill by adding them to an appropriations bill, it's because you know it has problems and will cause major issues and you just don't care because the politics of pleasing donors is too important. Hollywood has been screaming for this bill, and Pelosi has agreed to put it in.

Trump took the mask off the country, Biden is taking the gloves off. I’m guessing that no one will slip in monthly $2,000 for us? Speaking of this, Bernie has been tweeting that we need the monthly benefit, but now he’s only going to fight for another $1,200. See how it works? The squad and others are tweeting up a storm with that message and people are still holding on to hope that helps on the way. This is sociopathic too.

The difference between Biden and Regan is that Biden might hug a poor person, tell them he feels their pain, whereas Reagan would scold a poor person for not working hard enough.
It seems the only thing Biden has uttered that is a true policy statement is that nothing will change.

Usually people from the side that won have some hope that the new president will change something/anything for the better, but with Biden coming in there is no hope. And Pelosi is the one most responsible for that in my opinion. From refusing to pass bills that help us instead of her donors to her shutting out anyone else in the house from being involved in the discussion. In the last video I posted at the 10 minute mark Dayen discusses that. From what I understand is that no other dems are there, but there have been other house republicans that can offer their input. So looks like Nance is working with republicans and freezing democrats to screw the people.

It's good to see the media calling her out as well as Ro Khanna, but the squad needs to address their silly tweets to Pelosi not to the Twitter verse. People are tired of it and see through it.

Imagine growing up one day and seeing that you have the power to destroy your country's economy and kill millions by doing it. Now that will be something for the history books to discuss. We ask the Germans how they could allow Hitler. We should shut the F up because we have allowed our country to do even worse. Hitler never dropped an atomic bomb. There's that.

@pindar's revenge Why wouldn't people want a handout? They've seen handouts go the the wealthy, the connected, the upper class.

The greatest privilege is class privilege. Money washes away all guilt, for those with means. It's always their talent and intelligence that brought them that privilege, and the lack of intelligence and lack of talent that makes others, us, our own instrument of our "failure", and deserving of nothing.

The financing of government is all citizens responsibility, while the responsibility of the wealthy, and corporations, is to always profit for their own gain. Meaning that the wealthy have higher goal, sanctioned by all of us, if we accept capitalism as the highest form of democracy. We're so browbeaten by the socialist epithet we will never stand up and demand what is ours.....a government of, by and for the people.

@pindar's revenge has become a mental illness. A system that has come to a conclusion that the loss of a body part, or a life, has a relative monetary value in relation to the "value" of the damage of the person harmed. Jeff Bezos losing an arm is waaay more valuable than you or I losing an arm, even though Bezos can hire an army of underlings to carry out his needs, and we can't. We buy into that. We can't help ourselves because it's all we know.

I look at the money and where it goes. Statements like calling it a "stimulus" or "relief package" are meaningless. Mostly the money goes to businesses of one sort or another. People get evicted and go hungry, businesses go bankrupt, businesses don't have kids or medical bills. Small businesses are owned by and employ people, true, but if they don't make money the owners fold and either start something new or go work for Amazon or whatever. Give relief to people not businesses.

And don't even get me started on big businesses. Like the money they want to spend on "transportation" what does that mean? Bus fares? e-bikes? No, big multi billion construction contracts.

Ridding ourselves of this coarse parasite just gave us smoother parasites. Getting rid of Rump is a tactical victory in that it interrupts the momentum of one clique; they lose their chance to cement power. Strategically, the game remains the same: the rich vs the rest.

I confess to a sense of relief, though. There's evil, and then there's insane+evil. I'm tired of being threatened by neighborhood rumpists.

ETA: Other countries have sent bundles of cash to their citizens. This keeps money in circulation, food on the table, pays the rent, and keeps the corner store open. I still want to know how much of the CAREsLESS ACT money wound up sequestered in the coffers of the owners. Caymans, Anyone?
