Socialists score crushing victory in Bolivia

Despite last year's right-wing coup, and a full year of government repression, the people of Bolivia have reelected the Socialist party

Exit polls suggest Evo Morales’s leftwing party has pulled off a stunning political comeback in Bolivia’s presidential election, although an official result has yet to emerge.

Two private surveys projected that Luis Arce, the candidate for Morales’s Movimiento al Socialismo (Mas), secured more than 50% of the vote in the ballot on Sunday, with his closest rival, the centrist former president Carlos Mesa, receiving about 30%.

The election was so one-sided that the right-wingers are already conceding even though only about 10% of the votes have been counted.

expected their coup to hold.

Reinforces that Morales won last year and Carlos Mesa is as reviled as ever. (James Carville & Co. engineered Lozado-Mesa 2003 win. Led by Evo Morales, protests and strikes soon broke out. Lozado lasted one year before fleeing to the US. As President, Mesa lasted twenty months. The peasants and working class in Bolivia are tough.

Haaaaaa, you lost your Bolivian coup! Remember a year ago when you sent me a pro-fascist coup email response? Well, you lost. Bolivians have decided for themselves who they want as their elected officials, and it ain't your client fascist coup leader. Ha, you and Trump lost your regime change skulduggery.

I guess you'll turn your attention back to killing Venezuelans.

For the record - shame on you for over-throwing sovereign governments. Goddamn Imperialist.

@GreatLakeSailor (or at least smarter) than that. How many more on the Hill deserve a similarly stinging rebuke? iirc this was one that Sanders got right (sadly might be the exception for him over the past four years).

Another one that didn't kowtow to TPTB:
