from September 14 to September 28; so, photos of him during that period should have had him wearing a mask. However, that was preventative to OTHERS should he have been infected by the contact that put him in quarantine. It did close to nothing for him if he came in contact with an infectious person who wasn't wearing a mask.
Perhaps the difficulty in understanding the mask protocol is an American thing. Those in Asian countries don't seem to have this struggle. It's routine for them to wear a mask when ill to prevent infecting others. It's viewed as socially responsible. In the US we expect a mask to protect the self from others. An N-95 will do that, but they aren't comfortable to wear for more than a short period of time and the bulk of the short supply needs to be reserved for health care workers. The surgical and cloth masks are socially responsible in the event that one has unknowingly been infected with the coronavirus.

All the pictures I've seen on the internet show both of them wearing masks.
too much like soshulism.
Seriously, tho, we have this six-guns-blazing libertarian mindset that seriously cripples USians in making rational decisions. Leftover "frontier" mentality?
Can you tell me: what exactly are the differences between KN95 and N95 masks? I favor KN95s because I think they're much more comfortable and breathable than flat masks, don't slip off the nose, and are less prone to get soaked in sweat or saliva. I don't look for N95s because I think they're still in short supply for med personnel. I know nurses who bought UVC sterilizers because they had to wear their N95s for a week.

Guys exposed to concrete dust, plaster dust et cetera. They need it more than me. I use a surgical mask, but the time that I can wear it without both lungs filling up is not long at all. I think I'll ask if I can get an oxygen concentrater and slip the tubes under the mask.
I see more and more people without masks. And not just Trumpkins. Mostly AA & Latinos. I hardly see one with a mask anymore except Maria the bank teller.

is that KN-95 are made in China and don't carry the CDC seal of approval. 3M, Kimberly Clark, etc. spend a lot of money lobbying for this USG market protection even if their models are made in China or some other country. The models do vary -- the two low cost N-95 masks that were gifted to me fell apart quickly. My latest one is much higher quality and more comfortable, but unlike the first two has a release valve. So, I wear a surgical mask underneath it to protect others, as well as extending the life of the N-95. Don't use it for more than an hour or so per week and that's probably overly cautious.
Yes, socially responsible is like socialism. A word far too many Americans loathe while at the same time very much liking the socialism in our everyday lives. Vietnam may be one of the most socialist countries in the world (also atheistic), and while also one of the poorer countries, its handling of the coronavirus has been exceptional.

Sorry for the late response -- been dealing with some bad stuff, which included nearly stepping on a copperhead. Got pics, watched the fella slither away.
I bought a stock of kn95s from a massage therapist, who gets hers from a professional supply center. They seem very high quality, but not cheap. I prefer them to all other masks for comfort of wear -- easy breathing, mask held away from mouth and nose so it doesn't moisten up.
I've been on a major campaign to get people to wear masks, and wear masks properly. Nose-out only gives a false sense of security and puts people in danger. A major advantage of kn95 design is that it's harder to wear it incorrectly. A sane society would be distributing quality kn95s free; they cost much more than surgical masks. But this is the exceptional USA.

Considering Trump was infectious at the debate and Biden was in the room with him for over an hour, neither of them wearing a mask, I think it’s a little too early to put Biden on the “dodged a bullet” list with his negative test result.
"The average incubation period is about five days," says Dr. Wafaa El-Sadr, an epidemiologist at Columbia University. That's the period of time between exposure to the virus and the development of symptoms. "[Though] it could be as short as two days. Or it could be as long as 14 days."
First thing I thought of was what a freaking compelling story it would be, from a narrative POV, if Trump was the one who spread COVID to D.C. politicos including his Administration, Congress and all the bottom feeder insiders and they all started dropping off like flies.
#14.2.2 The first thing I thought of when I heard about this is maybe he gave it to Biden and the universe is answering our call for "neither".

and won't be for up to another two weeks, and that assumes that none of his staffers at the debate contracted the virus in Cleveland.
We can assume but it's not known who at the debate on Tuesday was infectious. Odds are best that Hicks was as she was symptomatic less than twenty-four hours later. Trump may or may not have been infectious at that point. However, they weren't the only two there that may have been infectious. Had everyone, including the campaign advance teams, worn surgical or cloth masks during their time at the venue, the odds of any transmission would have been very low. Of course those masks aren't much good if any infectious person is present and unmasked. Thus, being unmasked during the debate and being masked before and after the debate put Biden at risk even if Trump wasn't infectious.

Now all that needs to happen is for them to lose their job and their health insurance and then they'll have a better picture of what COVID has been like for the rest of us.
I don't know who else remembers "Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee" (aka, Bridgegate) but Stepien was Christie's campaign manager and was up to his neck in that whole shakedown. Criminals and bastards through and through. Both of them.
It is getting a little bit difficult to not start thinking things like 'maybe there is such a thing as karma' ... even though to be honest I don't really believe that. That they both have Covid now is a direct and logical result of their chosen political affiliations and their decision to get on board Trump's crazy train.
Still... it's funny. To me. (Sorry not sorry to those who find that offensive. )
@CS in AZ
the name Stepian sounded familiar to me but the names of all the DC minions tend to run together into a blob for me, and therefore, I didn't bother to look it up.

WH Barrett thingy. He also did debate prep with Trump (for a few minutes anyway), but wasn't part of the Trump entourage to Cleveland. So, there were a few opportunities for Christie to get "just a flu."
Breaking—Chris Christie (former NJ governor) has just testing positive for #COVID19. That now makes 25 related to Trump/WH in last 2 days.
Conversations w Republicans close to WH over last 12 hours indicate it’s been far more dire than WH has said. Before being taken to Walter Reed, Trump kept asking aides, “Am I going out like Stan Chera? Am I?” (Chera was Trump’s NYC friend who died of Covid in April)

The irony that Walter Reade Hospital is "socialized" medicine being lost on him I'm sure. The comment about progress is just obnoxious.
Doctors, Nurses and ALL at the GREAT Walter Reed Medical Center, and others from likewise incredible institutions who have joined them, are AMAZING!!!Tremendous progress has been made over the last 6 months in fighting this PLAGUE. With their help, I am feeling well!

another presidential perq. His digs at Walter Reed are similar to those at the WH; so, he's right at home. (Although I don't know why the hell we pay for a "presidential suite" at Walter Reed when it's unoccupied almost all the time. A regular private room is sufficient. It's not as if a POTUS isn't expendable.)

would be symptoms and/or positive test on Wednesday:
We need to confirm if WH knew Trump had #COVID19 Wednesday or only Thurs night. Trump physician’s 72 hours comment puts diagnosis at Wednesday. He didn’t correct himself on that. They just vaguely said “confirmed Thursday”. This is epidemiologically key. https://t.co/uC9DT3aiAW
This could lead to criminal charges and a large number of liability suits. Bankrupting the guy for real would for him be a fate worse than death.
