How to bury a poll: a textbook example
Emerson did a poll near the end of April that showed Bernie supporters were very unhappy with the Biden nomination. So unhappy that they were willing to vote for a third party candidate.
You'd think this might be news, but every major news outlet thought otherwise.
CNN didn't care about the story. Nor did MSNBC, ABC, CBS, New York Times, Washington Post.
Hell, even the right wing didn't care, because I could find no Fox News story about it. Nor could I find it in the New York Post or Wall Street Journal.
Only in the Washington Examiner and the Nation magazine did I find even second-hand references to it.
It's indeed possible that those news outlets reported the poll, but if that's the case then Google is suppressing the story. (a duckduckgo search didn't find much) Only one alternative outlet insidesources reported it properly.
And the Suffolk poll found another potential problem for Biden: His soft support among black voters. While he’s dominated among African-American voters in the primaries, when asked about November, only two-thirds said they would support Biden. That’s far lower than the 90 percent support Democratic presidential candidates usually garner from the black community. One in four black voters now say they are undecided or would vote for a third-party candidate, according to Suffolk.
And the third-party threat is real, according to Emerson. They found 35 percent who said, regardless of how they plan to vote in November, they would consider voting for an independent or third party candidate. That includes a majority (51 percent) of Bernie Sanders’ primary voters.
Emerson itself buried the headline. You had to go seven paragraphs down to find the information.
This has a very 2016 feel to it.

Hola gj. Not too unexpected, neither the data nor the
lack of coverage. I once knew some real newsies, today's press would have them in tears and deep deep depression.
be well and have a good one.

I'm voting Green.

Their platform is the essence of Progressive politics in the US https://howiehawkins.us/platform/
I feel great to be able to express my values and let the duopoly know loudly and clearly that they will never get my vote until they address my concerns about war, social justice, economic justice, and the environment. The never Trump argument slides into nothingness in comparison.
We need a very loud statement. The democrats tried Hillary and insisted that we vote for her, and then tried Biden also insisting that we must vote for him. We must send a message that this will never work.
What's the saying? Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice and ...well you know the thing...

Capitalism has always been the rule of the people by the oligarchs. You only have two choices, eliminate them or restrict their power.
never gets old
I’ll likely vote Green in 2020 and Peoples Party in 2024
Greens seem have very little crossover appeal to the disaffected right side of the political spectrum, focused as they are on environmental issues. It seems that the nascent People’s Party is going more head on against corporate and MIC control of government, pushing for policies that actually benefit real people in need and not just Citizens United fictional corporate “persons” who keep getting the lions share.
Looking forward to seeing how the People’s Party comes together over the next several months. I’m cautiously optomistic. We’ll see......

For the life of me I can't understand why
anyone would vote for any of the two. Is there a possibility that you choose a younger guy or gal? I mean there are other homes for the elderlies, no? So bring them elderlies there and let some youngish folks have a chance to move in.
Sorry, to be so 'in your face' but I can't listen to any more Biden Trump electoral possibilities.

That's what Mayor Pete was for
The 2020 Election is becoming a Fringe Event.
It's fading in and out of reality,
Neither Party are going to hold real conventions. Joe is going to accept the nomination from his basement. Besides, the police in both host cities have declined to participate.
Plus people know that the Vice President is going to be the Real President, and a vote for Joe is a vote for her. But no one can say that, so now it is a Fake Convention with a bait and switch candidate. That's more "national pretending" the public has to deal with.
And then there are the debates, with some dispirited negotiations going on about the rules and the dates. But that's just more "national pretending" since many people don't believe that a debate between these two unfit candidates inside an empty auditorium will take place. For weeks now, Biden's media surrogates have been concocting all sorts of spurious reasons why Joe should not debate Trump. Fake reasons, but good enough to side-step the potential global exposure of two corrupt and mentally unbalanced old men vying to rule over the "Free World" and wage their ignorant wars.
And then we have the looming election mess, in the midst of a botched Pandemic. Normal nations have actual election laws in their Constitutions that apply to the entire county. They fund their elections from government revenues, thus eliminating the bribery and much of the corruption, And they keep their Constitutions up to date and relevant to the times and technologies they live in.
I looked hard for this poll when the tweet originally appeared
I could never find it at the Emerson web site and I note that the tweet was quickly deleted. I doubt that the figures in the tweet were accurate. I brought this up on the Way of the Bern subreddit and although my query elicited a few nasty comments, no one was able to link to the original poll. They just linked back to the tweet. If there are data behind this tweet, I would be delighted to see them. Note that I have no ideologically based desire for the tweet to be wrong. I just want to see real data.
the link to the poll is in the essay
the poll (and the data) wasn't all that hard to find.
