"Antifa Terrorists" is now officially "Russiagate for Republicans"

Either the ruling class is getting sloppy and lazy or the American people are just getting dumber. Because these phony conspiracy theories have become transparent.
For the Democrats it was Russia being able to overturn our election based on puppy memes on Facebook.
Republicans have decided that the same people they called snowflakes just a few months ago are now a cabal of special forces terrorists, that are burning down our cities and yet for some reason people there don't want the federal government to rescue them.
And just like Democrats before them Republicans aren't going to let facts stand in the way of a good story.

(Reuters) - U.S. federal prosecutors have produced no evidence linking dozens of people arrested in anti-racism protests in Portland, Oregon, to the antifa or anarchist movements, despite President Donald Trump’s assertions they are fueling the unrest.
A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s office in Portland confirmed this in an email to Reuters on Tuesday.

What do you do when the facts don't cooperate?
You could do like Ted Cruz did and just ignore the facts.

In a telling moment, Cruz twice chastised his Democratic colleagues for praising peaceful Black Lives Matter protesters while failing to condemn “antifa” and the “terrorists” who killed a federal security officer, Dave Patrick Underwood, during a May protest in Oakland. Cruz’s implication was clear: The left killed Underwood.
Yet Underwood was killed by a member of the far right — one of 329 murders carried out by right-wing extremists since 1994.

In the same period, a grand total of zero murders have been attributed to antifa participants.

Or you could do like the Trump Administration is doing, which is to make up alternative facts.

A Department of Homeland Security intelligence report leaked to The Nation has some experts skeptical of the department's motives.

The report targeted several left-wing American activists who the department would normally be prohibited from gathering intelligence on unless they had reason to believe the individuals were operating on behalf of a foreign power. The people named in the report, many of whom have identified with far-left causes, do have connections abroad — they traveled to Syria in the past and fought against the Islamic State alongside Kurdish factions like the YPG, PKK, and the Peshmerga.

The U.S., of course, considers ISIS an enemy, so it may seem surprising the U.S. government would focus on people who volunteered to fight against the terrorist group, but critics argue the Syria connection could be a ruse to root out potential antifa members.

Just like Democrats before them Republicans are ready to throw their allies under the bus to score partisan political points. Whatever it takes to distract the public.

is that they think they can distract the public when there's nothing like a second Great Depression to focus the public mind...

"The war on Gaza, backed by the West, is a demonstration that the West is willing to cross all lines. That it will discard any nuance of humanity. That it is willing to commit genocide" -- Moon of Alabama

@Cassiodorus
There's nothing wrong with that chart at all.
It's exactly what you would expect to see when drunken teenagers driving 100mph in a stolen car while not wearing seat belts hit a wall.

Things are slowing down in Portland now that the feds have gone elsewhere, or whatever happened to them.

But a lesson we all should have learned in the sixties is that every demonstration is filled with agents provocateur (or, agent provocateurs) there to do something horrible.

Police departments all have "red squads" which focus on dissident groups. Police departments link with state police. They interface with federal law enforcement agencies. Groups like Proud Boys have people who occupy the criminal/violent/racist slice of society and nothing brings out the worst in them better than a get-out-of-jail card.

Keep an eye out for these provocateurs. It's the nature of totalitarian regimes.

a stable genius

We are witnessing a vicious assault by enemies of all that is good, and our president is having to act in ways unprecedented in decades, maybe centuries.

The biblical nature of good versus evil cannot be discounted as we examine what is happening on the streets of America.

It’s Marxism in the form of antifa and the Black Lives Matter movement versus our very capable and very underappreciated law enforcement professionals, the vast majority of whom are fighting to provide us safe and secure homes, streets and communities.

When the destiny of the United States is at stake, and it is, the very future of the entire world is threatened.

As Christians, shouldn’t we act? We recognize that divine Providence is the ultimate judge of our destiny. Achieving our destiny as a freedom-loving nation, Providence compels us to do our part in our communities.

It encourages us in this battle against the forces of evil to face our fears head-on. No enemy on earth is stronger than the united forces of God-fearing, freedom-loving people.

We can no longer pretend that these dark forces are going to go away by mere prayer alone. Prayers matter, but action is required.

This is what ZH thinks of this rant

@gjohnsit Can we send a dictionary to people that use words wrong? With the words they use wrong bookmarked and highlighted?

Is it great yet?

@Jen
If they did use their words correctly, both in meaning and at the proper place in a sentence, it would actually be much much worse.
for instance, did you know that Pelosi was a Marxist? In fact, the entire Dem Party establishment are all America-hating communists.

While it's been my opinion that (former, thank gawd) General Flynn was railroaded into a conviction by unscrupulous FBI agents, it doesn't mean he isn't batshit insane. That goes for the 18 up-voters at ZH, too.

...caused by failing Empires. People are stigmatized by the appalling delusions their Leaders have displayed. The shame of People who said nothing for decades as their collective taxes were misappropriated to the war-profiteers of the 1% — aided and abetted by appointed authorities who contaminate US Intelligence and the State Department. The scope of this crime and the gullible silence of the People is an embarrassment. The privatization of government obligations, and the open theft of government stimulus spending and national assets by the crony corporations of Citizens United — which occurred at a time when the People are denied such human rights as health care and affordable housing — makes the American People objects of pity, internationally.

The worst part of this national embarrassment is when the light shines back upon the People as they prepare to vote in a degrading, Party-controlled democracy that mocks the Will of the People by forcing them to choose between compromised, corrupt, mentally-unfit candidates.

The People are thus unfairly cast as the authors of this national catastrophe, because they willingly voted into power the elected officials who are running our morally-bankrupt Federal Government. Intellectually honest People cannot avoid blaming themselves for lending credibility to the blatantly-rigged, payola-based US Democracy and its Congress of sudden millionaires.

While it is too late to do anything about the current state of affairs, it is not too late for people of all ages to re-define their sad legacy by proactively becoming a visible part of any human ideal they admire. There is an opportunity here for people to push aside all this noise and wasted energy and to commit to building a worthy legacy: Kindness, love, beauty, generosity, comfort, simplicity, empowerment, humility, sacrifice, helpfulness, nurturing the social good, and celebrating the small efforts and good habits that make better lives possible. And above all, demonstrating a respect for the many ways that nature tames and guides humans — and maintaining a respectful silence about the many ways that other cultures evolve and adapt to the emerging future they face. As the Earth enters a biome-altering climate cycle to rid itself of the judgmental pestilence that has degraded the planet's potential for diversity, there is still time for enlightened communities and committed individuals to plant a seed for a future harvest they are unlikely to see. That's huge.

It’s really sad that so many people in this country cannot see what many of us here do. A very small group of people see how abhorrent our country is to far too many countries, but the majority have no problem at all with our murderous hegemonic country. Or that our government diverts the money that should be spent on we the people. The rest cheer our troops on and thank them for what they do and especially for protecting our empty purse of freedoms that have been gone since 2003 without their knowledge.

This too:

The worst part of this national embarrassment is when the light shines back upon the People as they prepare to vote in a degrading, Party-controlled democracy that mocks the Will of the People by forcing them to choose between compromised, corrupt, mentally-unfit candidates.

"Biden wasn’t my first choice or 2nd or 3rd and not even 5th, but he’s who we need right now to take our country back from Trump/Putin and restore everything they broke."

How people can be this naive is really mind boggling to me because I see the long history of Biden’s legislation that brought us Trump. But they don’t. Somehow they missed when Biden said that if he becomes president 'nothing will change."

The world is watching this horror show in amazement because surely we’d see how we have power right now but are just willing to go along with what congress gives us. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen people bitching at the $600 federal benefits because it has made people too lazy to go back to work.

"There are plenty of jobs available."

"My company is hiring, but can’t get people to apply."

"It’s not the government’s job to take care of us."

"We can’t just print money."

Etc. How did people got so brainwashed?

Well said, Pluto.
