Constitutional Ex-Crisis
Two weeks ago, I posted an essay entitled, "Constitutional Crisis." It was followed shortly by another essay called "What Constitutional Crisis?" Both threads considered what, if anything, the institutional Democratic Party would do to defend the Constitution from the Federal Invasion of Oregon and other states in defiance of State and Local Governments.
The consensus was, nothing.
I'm not sure about the other invasions, but in Oregon, Adolf Trumpler has turned tail and run from the Moms. Biden, Shumer and Pelosi all avoided taking any meaningful action, but people on their own defended the Constitution, at least for the time being. For a fascist dictator, he sure does spin around like a weathervane, doesn't he?
This is blocked by a paywall, but the Wall Street Journal Headline tells the whole story:
.
With No Federal Agents on Streets, Portland Protests Turn Largely Peaceful
.
That is the Rupert Murdoch owned Wall Street Journal showing Trump to be a loser -- the one media shot against him that he cannot blow off. As recently as December of 2019, the business press was chortling about how Trump was winning the trade war with China and laughing about the goofy Democrats' impeachment effort that was increasing Trump's poll numbers. Both factors were pointing toward a second term for Donnie Shrimpfingers. Obviously, the Big Media has turned on Trumpler since then.
Does anybody have any local news about these Trump Invaders of other sovereign states? Illinois? New Mexico? Other places?
Or is the Constitutional Crisis over?

I think the Constitution is increasingly irrelevant
The Constitution matters when there is a rule of law. When we are a nation of laws.
But with our two-tier justice system those days are gone. What matters more is your wealth. Do you have some or don't you?
You cannot fight someone you have contempt for
no matter how much he deserves it. "Trumpler"? "Donnie Shrimpfingers"? Maybe someone should take a look in the mirror. (and that someone is Nancy Pelosi)
On to Biden since 1973
You got me.
Fight them? I don't think that is how things will shake out. But I cannot agree with your idea that you cannot fight somebody for whom you hold contempt.
Could you elaborate?

No it's not over
No Fed. Demoratic politicians and few state, city or local Dems seem willing or able to admit that there is no longer a rule of law, or the basic concept of checks and balances, separation of powers or any of the precepts that used to keep the power mad lunatics in check, somewhat. What a madhouse. Fight them how can ordinary people? The electoral system is broken beyond repair and it was and is a bi-partisan assault on any form of democracy or even basic human rights and ancient rules of law. Forget about it were screwed globally. Don't have a clue or idea how we the people can resolve this other then voting for evil fucks one brand or another. Don't give a fuck about either Dems or Repugs, why should I? They are one and the same. How to get them gone is the real question? Voting doesn't work. It's broken by both sides. Maybe more Mom's hitting the streets will help? Anyway do not give your consent to be governed by these evil fucks.
Family affair
Yeah, more Moms in the streets - and Dads with leaf blowers - would be good.
I tend to think what's going to get people to open their eyes may be when they see whole families trying to shelter under overpasses ...maybe multiple families under overpasses – with the children begging at intersections. Or are Americans too far gone for even that to break through?
You ask the right questions.
In this nightmare, everything is falling apart and at some point -- unless utterly implausible changes occur within the skulls of our national leadership -- upwards of 20 million people will find themselves ordered out of their dwellings. Probably a lot more than 20 million.
Moms and Dads and sons and daughters and siblings and grandparents of police officers and National Guard personnel will be in the streets, because that is where they will be living. If the people paid to suppress resistance are willing to kill citizens, including their own families -- we descend into totalitarianism.
On the other hand, when the troops refuse to fire on the people, the Revolution succeeds.
I would LOVE to cling to any glimmer of hope that nothing like this will happen. Is there one tiny shred of evidence anywhere to support a better next 12 months?

Democrats and Republicans,
two cheeks of the same buttock.
