Back to the future on steroids.
The fabric of our culture is being ripped asunder. Onion-skinned trump is destroying the social contract by keeping the social chaotic, by sowing divisiveness, by pitting mini-cultures against each other and inoculating everything with chaos. Chaos begets fear, becomes the norm. It is easier to control people that way. And control is the name of the game. Maximum gain with minimal pain.
The warp and weft of the social contract were already fraying in the 60s. It had been fragmenting for many from the beginning. MLK pointed that out and lost. It happened so fast and no one was prepared for Death. But now we are.
George Floyd changed that. Time and space compressed at that moment. Truth and lies merged and in a flash we all saw the excruciating horror of who we are. We can no longer be complicit.
.

"My Dream has turned into a nightmare. … Now we are confronting issues that cannot be solved without costing the nation billions of dollars. I think this is where we are getting our greatest resistance. They can put it on many other things but they can’t get rid of slums and poverty without it costing the nations something."
Fast forward thirty years. We surprised the corporate state and we surprised ourselves.
But buyer beware. Every trick the establishment has is being used to maintain control.
During the George Floyd protests federal law enforcement agencies stoked the fires by telling the Minnesota police they were being targeted by radicals and extremists thus escalating the violence. But, the recently dumped Blueleaks data files are shedding light on police actions. They contain millions of documents stolen from a Texas company named Netsential, a web hosting service for various US law enforcement organizations. I am highlighting this again because the 270 gigabyte data dump is being blocked. This was recently reported in the Evening Blues and in enhydra lutris’ Open Thread.
Federal and local agencies collected intelligence drawn from private online messaging groups and Slack channels, according to the documents. The agencies also tracked Facebook RSVPs to peaceful protest events, including a suburban candlelight vigil. … While the documents reveal concern over groups with a professed commitment to unrest, like the far-right group Boogaloo, they also suggest a tendency to categorize standard protest behavior as a threat to police.
The window into the police’s internal memos came thanks to a trove of documents called Blueleaks, which were published on the website Distributed Denial of Secrets. The site’s founder told Wired that the documents came from the hacking collective Anonymous, or someone claiming to be affiliated with the group. Government officials whose files appeared among the documents told the Intercept they were “illegally obtained,” but no questions have been raised about their authenticity. The documents on Minnesota are from a host of local and federal law enforcement agencies and coordinating offices that worked to share information between them.
Apparently every effort is being made to keep this information out of the mainstream news. Twitter has banned the DDoSecrets account that distributed the Blueleaks. There is little information available on this now. Here are two links.

Mirror sites?
Every time someone is "publishing" a "secret," there should be plenty of mirror sites stashed away in domains with small-nation domain names (in much the way in which Library Genesis is stashed in a .is website as well as .lc and .li websites....)
No?

Color me curious. Not sure what you are talking about. Please elucidate. What are mirror sites, please?
Thanks. Take good care and have a good one.

Good morning
It ain't just Trumpilini - Militarized police are a left-right construct.

The oligarchs means of control.
I have resolved to focus on what I can do. So I've been out picking blueberries and finally it's dry enough to spray neem oil this morning. So that is done as well. Washing clothes now. The daily patterns living in isolation are comforting in these times. Been harvesting lots of wild chanterells too.

The police problem is trivial in comparison, but as you suggest represents another data point illustrating the unraveling of the social fabric. Thanks for the OT and the links. Have a good one!
“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
hmmmm.
"The police problem is trivial in comparison..." killed by police has it that police have killed 498 people so far in 2020, and they only track those reported in the MSM. how many have been killed on reservations, or in towns small enough to even report them? many PDs also hide them until the news leaks out. proportionally, most are black, first amerikan, then latinx, and many of the latter 3 ethnic groups are unarmed.
we might want to check with their families and friends to ask them how less trivial it is than climate change, which we can't do anything about, save for nibble around the edges, and prepare for. you and i may be able to plan ahead for the coming depression, but the poor sure can't. we've been trying to hang on to our mammoth Stim checks and hope to stash things we and others might need when the $hit really hits the fan. 'gift economy' will be no academic matter, imo.
meanwhile, 47% of working age USians have no jobs, but Mr. Market is celebrating the largest quarterly surge in 20 years! thank the goddess for the Fed and the bipartisan CARES packages!
I guess it depends on if the lives of other species...
are seen as having equal value with human lives?
https://www.nationofchange.org/2020/06/05/sixth-mass-extinction-of-wildl...
The lives police take (and our penal system ruin) are tragic, but they don't spell human extinction. The failure to grok the existential crisis of environmental degradation clearly leads to extinction...perhaps in the near term.
So we can agree to have different perspectives, perhaps.
“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
yes, different perspectives,
and as i'd noted all we can do to change the massive trajectory of climate chaos is nibble around the edges. which is why i'd stuck in the fact that as of june 29, temps in siberia were over 100 degrees, and a fire in a siberian forest had already burned over 2 million acres, and has been declared unstoppable. and yes, i get accused often of vibrating a some lower level, and all that jazz. for now: out of control killer and incarcerating police matter more. that's all.
but at least we have a few bees and swallowtail butterflies here, but sadly, no measurable rain, and the SW is smokey with wildfires.
and of course, it's not just the temps in the air that are killing the planet; the list is long, and growing longer. that's all.
best to you, amigo. i hadn't meant to bicker unduly.
morning lo
Yes, and you do a lot. What I can do is mostly garden now. Not sure that I can affect the outcome of the climate crisis in any way whatsoever. And it's chugging right along. Somehow I hope that, still, a sea change can happen. One began with the recent protests. The powers tb pushed back. We have numbers and are no longer unaware of their games. They are ruthless. But the protesters surprised everyone including the themselves.
Man o man, chanterells are the best evah. Used to pick thme when I lived in Mendocino in the mid sixties. Yummers. Love the image on for the Tsunami movie. Look forward to watching.
Cloudy here again today. Marine layer stayed all day yesterday. Been going out for picnic lunches, searching for available tables is interesting in the time of covid. Heh. Yesterday found one above the yacht harbor. Small city parks seem to be the solution. Yes, the police problem is trivial but the protests could be the beginning of a new normal. So there's that.
Take good care and have a good one.

Good morning magi. Yesterday CAitlin's column contained
information that appears to be an inadvertent admission by the oligarchs and their minions that see the populace as their enemy. Thus, the need to constantly observe and monitor as well as to control and manipulate us. Bolton was quoted therein to the effect that:
There, it is out in the open if one looks closely. One does not keep one's plans, ideas and information secret from one's allies, only from one's enemies. Anything else is counterproductive. Similar, one doesn't deceive and lie to one's allies, only one's enemies. Our government, however keeps us in the dark about everything and feeds us an endless stream of lies and propaganda. They do so because they see us as an enemy, as inimical to their rule and their game-plan, and are quite open abut it in unguarded moments.
This, of course, is where the narrative control backed up the the mailed fist of the security and surveillance state police and intel conglomerate backed up, in turn, by the National Guard.
You point out the current Chaos as a driver and an actual goal of the oligarchy in order that it may be used as such a driver. It is ironic because the climate catastrophe which is also a driver of much and a facilitator of things like the current pandemic is also chaos driven to an extent. Not so much climate, but dig deeply into weather and weather systems and you run up against chaos theory, an interesting irony given how hard they are working to maintain social chaos.
Thanks for the OT and today's fresh look and additional vantage point on everything. Thanks also for all you do, for that matter. We all have another, bigger curve to try to flatten than just this virus.
be well and have a good one

Thanks for all you do as well. I am just getting tired of people being so shocked. Okay, it's been happening for more than three years now. "Omg, did you, can you believe..." Yep.
Bolton's a riot. Hes also said something to the effect that he would lie to keep the constitution safe, or maybe that he did not feel he had to tell the truth. Ak.
Well said...
So many curves to flatten and so little time.

Good morning, magi,
Patriot act renewed without a hiccup, technology rapidly advancing giving gestapos new tools, toys of the trade, and freedom caucus members running the government. Quite a frightening soup.
Sadly, i'm waiting for the inevitable crash when the repugs and dems fail to renew pandemic unemployment.
Cumulus clouds dominate the sky today and feeling cooped up, think i'll get out a little this afternoon.
Be well and be safe.
afternoon smiley
A frightening soup. What the hell? In our lifetimes. Get out in to nature. That's my solution. I can't ignore the news so I have to balance it with reality. Heh. Have a good outing. Take good care.

60% of fish species could be unable
to survive in current areas by 2100 – study, The Guardian
Hell, acid rain did the native trout in here thirty years ago.
Rode over a remote area today i used to visit often for skinny-dipping and fishing; damn, it had changed, lots of peoples on the dirt lanes up high now.
It’s like that here too
Mountain bikes are ruining habitat and trails. The pogonip is doing well but there are a few that break the rules and then there is the homeless. So sad to hear about the fish. Seems like there’s something like that almost every week. I can definitely see the stress on nature here. Things are slowly changing. You notice it if you are outside a lot.
