Investigate Tara Reade's Sexual Assault Allegations versus Joe Biden

A few days ago, someone posted an essay (one that did not gain much support) that mentioned a change.org petition calling for the MSM to censor live coverage of the White House coronavirus task force briefings. I, for one, was opposed to that concept and kind of half-jokingly added a comment, I bet change.org doesn't have a petition urging an investigation into the rather serious sexual assault allegations against the presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee, Joe Biden, by a former staffer (someone who was an employee on Biden's Senate staff), Tara Reade. Well, it turns out an internet search did turn up such a petition, and here's a direct link for anyone interesting in signing up:

https://www.change.org/p/department-of-justice-launch-an-investigation-i...

The key issue here for me is the media hypocrisy, as well as the hypocrisy among many in the so-called "Me Too" or "Times Up" movement, as well as most of the mainstream Democratic party establishment, many of whom were falling all over themselves when very similar allegations made against the most recent Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, with one of the oft-repeated arguments there being, "this isn't a court of law" where the standard of proof (reasonable doubt) is a high one, rather it's "a job interview for one of the most important positions in the land." Well, I believe the same holds true here, and would urge everyone's attention. (As of this writing, the petition has well over 1000 supporters.)

I think that now that Bernie has dropped out the medal will cover Tara's rape accusation against Biden to give the DNC a reason for dumping Biden's ass and pivoting someone else into the spot. Maybe they will start talking about his mental health issues too.

Has anyone else seen stories about Bernie talking to Obama this weekend and that is why he dropped out today? I've only seen a few tweets about this, but couldn't verify it.

On the subject of the media not covering Trump I don't think they have a leg to stand on after they lied to us for 3 years about Russia Russia Russia and Trump being Putin's puppet do you?

Here's the link,

Excerpt:

Former President Barack Obama played an active, albeit private, role in the Democratic presidential primary that effectively ended on Wednesday when Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders dropped out of the race.

Obama and Sanders spoke multiple times in the last few weeks as the Vermont senator determined the future of his campaign, a source familiar with the conversation tells CNN.

Sanders' decision to get out on Wednesday paves the way for Joe Biden, who served as Obama's vice president for eight years, to become the Democratic nominee.

Concierge Care for Congress: Attending Physician of the United States Congress

July 15, 2014

OAP provides members of Congress with physicals and routine examinations, on-site X-rays and lab work, physical therapy and referrals to medical specialists from military hospitals and private medical practices. When specialists are needed, they are brought to the Capitol, often at no charge to members of Congress.[4]

Members of Congress do not pay for the individual services they receive at the OAP, nor do they submit claims through their federal employee health insurance policies. Instead, as of 2009, members pay a flat, annual fee of $503 for all the care they receive. The rest of the cost of their care is paid for by federal funding, from the U.S. Navy budget. The annual fee has not changed significantly since 1992.[4]

and,

Yearly Fee

One aspect of the office’s operations which remains unclear is just how the annual $503 fee is determined.

Until 1992, OAP services were free to members of Congress. But after former Sen. Harris Wofford of Pennsylvania angered members by introducing a bill to make Congress members pay market rate prices for using the OAP, a compromise was reached.

Instead of charging for each service, Wofford said, members of the House and Senate agreed to hire independent consultants to determine the average value of the services offered and to use that amount to determine an annual fee.
“We thought of the pricing much like an HMO,” Wofford said of the compromise pricing model. “The attending physician at the time told me he had no interest in handling insurance or billing for each service available.”

But Wofford said the House and Senate committees tasked with determining the fee each insisted on hiring their own consultants, leading to a split pricing system. According to press accounts from 1992, the Senate set the fee at $520; the House fee was set at $263 for the same care. At some point, sources say, the separate rates were scrapped and replaced with the single fee, now set at $503.

The Office of the Attending Physician refused to comment on the fee or why it has not changed significantly in 17 years, despite rampant inflation in all other areas of health care costs.

Anderson refused repeated requests for the Committee on House Administration to provide details of how the rate is determined or who determines it.

“Members pay an annual fee determined by an independent actuary for use of the OAP services,” Anderson responded each time he was asked about the pricing model.

Gotta put an end to this Congressional Perk, if we hope to ever have a decent healthcare program.

IOW, our lawmakers' current excellent OAP healthcare program allows them to be exempt from any austerity/managed care tools that they seek to impose on the masses, as evidenced by several Dem Party MFA/public option proposals.

@Unabashed Liberal

Seems to me that Obama has done more damage to the election process than Russia could ever dream of doing. He got Pete and Amy to drop out before Super Tuesday and now he has gotten Bernie to drop out before many people have voted. So much for our touted democracy huh? We have overthrown governments for less than that. Love the smell of hypocrisy don't you?

@snoopydawg the MSM wants Trump, and even the DNC is ok with that apparently, or at the very least they'd rather see Trump win than Bernie or Liz.

US politics is like trying to win in a rigged casino, the crooks win every time. The only way to win that kind of a game is to burn the place down.

They really made that STUPID-ASS argument as if there's ANY upside to that?!?

I have NO USE for gossip-based judgment. There have been times and places where gossip was a crime, and while the whole "freedom of speech" thing is a pretty big roadblock, I otherwise find the concept pretty damned charming.

Humans who cannot - or worse, will not - think and deliberate rationally do not deserve person status.

Biden himself didn't give a shit about sexual harassment when he was overseeing the appointment of Clarence Thomas to the Supreme Court. But we're supposed to have a blind eye to that, too.
