Kos's Daily Attack on Bernie's Campaign
Kos is engaged and is going to try to win back his blog! Yes, for the second time in two days, he has a post about Devine and the super delegates. The purpose is to convince people Bernie has no chance to win.
That has been his theme since early March, but now he is accelerating it.
Every day, people will be bombarded with these messages. Surrender Dorothy, you have no chance.
The aim is to cut off donations and votes for Bernie.
I doubt it it will have much impact. Those for Bernie are not quitting. He can preach to Hillary supporters.
Glad this place exists. It is going to get bad there. Expect more refugees.
No doubt there will be counter posts there. The whole world is outside of that blog.
Update: I wrote a post there. If you still go back, I'd appreciate a rec.

Here's what I said:
It what appears to be a Daily Theme, Kos has another post about Tad Devine and super delegates. Don’t be distracted.
Rather than all the yelling and fighting, I propose donations to Bernie. Don’t get all caught up in flame wars. What matters is helping Bernie win as many delegates as he can.

I noticed
when kos posted some stats the other day, it showed where the most frequent commenter had been Gooserock. Anyone know what happened to him?

That's a shame. I never would have thought Gooserock a racist, but I guess it's possible I'm only seeing it through my eyes. I do miss his contributions, though.

It's also possible he was accused without merit.

That's probably more likely
When you've read someone's writings long enough, you get a sense of him or her. Don't doubt that he could have inartfully said something, as we all do at times, but I always try to give the benefit of the doubt. Wish he'd join us here.

Accusations of racism are the new red-baiting
Which is horrifying in an era of so much actual racism.

It's okay to make a mental note, in passing, of the panic, oddities, and kerfluffle by the non-Bernie supporters, but it's not okay to dwell on them to the point of distraction.
To win this thing, we need to develop tunnel vision.
Oh, and it's time for me to make one of my little donations to Bernie's campaign again. The problem with a Soc Sec income is that I can't afford much, and I fantasize about maxing out, but can't do that. Still, five or ten dollars here or there is do-able sometimes.

Given the real blog alternatives for Bernie supporters
(here and the reddit site, etc.), it's hard to imagine anyone becoming despondent because of the bloviations of the owner of a shrinking site.

Why bother reading Kos, when you can read Bill Curry.
Will go TOP to rec your diary.

Thanks for always posting Bill Curry's articles. Now - off to read!!!

Thanks. He's good.
Thanks, Caerus, for the Bill Curry link: must-read stuff on
the scourge of "tactical thinking" and how "ideology makes you stupid."
I wholeheartedly agree on reading Curry over Moulitsas on the Clinton machine. Curry gets the Clintons from practical experience. He has far more insight into their thinking than Moulitsas offers. After understanding that Moulitsas is a Clinton supporter, who cares what he has to say? Apart from emotional wounds from years of personal investment in his site and his betrayal of them? Granted, its a biggie, but the sooner folks get over him, the sooner we can focus on practical progressive activism and organizing right here. Why pick the new scab on a fresh wound? Ignore Moulitsas and read Curry instead: far more profitable if you want insight rather than fight yesterday's battles.
I do understand folks need to heal, but could we get on with that? I long for the day that the c99 community page is more about tomorrow than yesterday. Cheers mate,

Clinton camp seems very afraid
I count Kos as part of the Clinton camp. I am thinking that there are a lot of insiders that know what will emerge from the FBI investigation as the most likely explanation.

I cannot in good conscience
go there...But I have a suggestion....
Start a "drinking game"....every time Markos mentions Tad Devine everyone chips in a dollar for Bernie! You could make a whole LIST of things that could make contributing fun..and shut him up...eh?

If we had a drinking game for every time top is mentioned here
I'd be in hospital! I long for the day when folks have recovered from the betrayal there. I'm just fine with everyone having to work through it. But, goodness knows, I long for the day things get a bit more practical here: more progressive activism and organizing articles and less about top would be marvelous. All things in good time, I suppose (as if we have lots of time.)

I feel confident that will happen in due time.

Hence why we need to make it a "Smoking" game
At a certain point, you'll just go to sleep, have nice dreams, and wake up without a hangover.
But a hell of a case of cotton mouth, and maybe a case of indigestion depending on what flavor combinations you came up with the night before.

TomP, it's great to see you here. I'm very glad you are
a Bernie supporter. As willing as I am to entertain all kinds of possibilities when it comes to the extent the "ruling class" will go to keep their (inverted totalitarian) fascist boot on the collective neck society, I find the level to which all corporate media seem to be colluding against the Bernie Sanders campaign kind of baffling.
Although I know this is not the case, the coordinated media blackout (dishonest and biased reporting) is so universal, that one could think they are getting one single memo every morning at 8:00am, with specific instructions on how to undermine Bernie's campaign.
I see what Kos is doing in the same vein, as just one more media establishment tool acting not only against Bernie, but against progressivism in general.

When you boil it all down, the number one step you can take to get out from under the fascist boot of the oligarchy is to stop subjecting yourself to the the U.S. corporate news media. It is a powerful psyops weapon.
Good to see you, too.
It's a long struggle. We may diverge on tactics at time, but I think we share a similar goal long term. Take care.
So when he says "elect better Democrats"
what he meant was elect Democrats he thinks are better. Well he can continue to be king of his domain name, but I have left the Democrats all together. I no longer look at them as the lesser of two evils, but rather the deterrent to better choices.
I go to TOP to read the news about Bernie.
IF Hillary wins the primary, there will be nothing there to read but Hillary the terrific and the awful Trump. If Hill starts losing to Trump, there might be some perverse pleasure in the site's misery.
dailykos is a propaganda piece. I turned off MSNBC and CNN for that reason. Without Bernie people at dk there will be no reason to go.

I only read the BNR and any other diaries about Bernie. I'm only over there a couple times a day. Even if Bernie is the nominee, I don't want to be a regular there anymore. I'm going to choose to ban myself from the people there; they've been horrific to me and all the Bernie supporters. I won't forget it. I won't forget who.
All the people I care about are here.
"The “jumpers” reminded us that one day we will all face only one choice and that is how we will die, not how we will live." Chris Hedges on 9/11
his recent "superdelegate" post raises some questions
the statement was either dishonest or ignorant. Bernie originally said he didn't like the idea of superdelegates because they were all supporting Hillary before primaries/caucuses. When he said they should support him if he did well in a particular state it was totally consistent with his earlier statement. the gist is the supers should reflect the vote.
It's not just the owner. The Hillbots also show that ignorance/dishonesty. It raises this question: Does the ignorance/dishonesty have anything to do with their support of Hillary? That is, does it drive their support? And, if so, how does that relate to her candidacy?
I was struck by one part of that post, where the blog owner asked whether Bernie was suggesting one thing (that African-American votes don't count). Well he wasn't. It was something Markos made up, again either through dimwittedness or plain old lying. He went on to say if true it was really ugly!!! Yes, well Bernie didn't say that. Markos used a tactic where you make up something and then act horrified that the opponent said what he said, even though we know he, Bernie, didn't say such a thing. What was really ugly was the heavy-handed attempt by the dimwit/liar.
Various themes go around from week to week, as if they were talking points handed out by the Clinton campaign. Clinton supporters are much like Trump supporters in that their candidates can do no wrong. Hillary supporters won't believe that she is dishonest unless they have a signed affadavit saying "I, Hillary Clinton, am distorting and lying" and even then I think those supporters would say "she has to, she has to play the game, it's tough being a woman in a man's world."
Did I mention I don't much like her or her spokespeople?
I drove them crazy
When I suggested Trump wasn't the only candidate who could walk down 5th Ave, shoot someone, and not lose any supporters over it.

Hi TomP (and hi OPOL) - I admit I was glad
to read your and OPOL's response to kos' diary today. Thankful that some of you guys have the nerves to counter Mr. Moulitsas.
It's really horrifying to see what kind of damage the electoral system here in the US does to its citizens. I hope it is over soon. I want this lunacy to end and to stop. I am homesick to a normal election like I was used to in Germany. If you get upset me saying that, so be it.
My engagement has limits. It's beyond FUBAR. Glad if some people can handle the craziness and stay calm and focused. I don't have the nerves for it and feel I am one of the faint of heart folks. I couldn't be an activist ever, feeling that they are all abused by the wrong people for the wrong purpose. People ask me to do phone banking and canvassing. I am so pissed off about your electoral process, I feel being taken for a fool having to do such work. Can't get over that.
What a hopeless country the US is, if it can't even organize fair, normal elections, can't change the electoral college. I mean, it's hopeless. I fear already for the young generation, who is now so enthusiastically in support of Sanders. I fear that they might feel betrayed one day as much as people have been betrayed by Clinton and Obama. What a mess. I am aware that you hate me for saying what I feel. Heh, German lady, how dare you, right? To which I say. I am done with it.
Well, I do support Sanders. What can I say. There is nothing else to support. But I am a sad supporter, because I feel nothing will change. And kudos to all of you, who march on and not be discouraged.
I re-read my comment and it sounds as if I am having a bad hair day. Oh, well.

we all have bad hair days :) --& no, i don't hate you for
stating the obvious: the system is corrupt & rigged. your disillusionment is perfectly natural--& understandable--but remember what bernie says: the only way it's ever going to change is thru revolution. young people are more than ready for it, as evidenced by the enormous popularity of his message, & it WILL happen, sooner than later.

So long, and thanks for all the fish
Do you know
that when campaign donations are made via Kos's links, half goes to Daily Kos and only half to the campaigns? When I saw that, I cancelled in middle of donation and went to Act Blue to donate. Continued to donate that way ever since. It's in the fine print on donation page.
That's disgusting!
And infuriating. I had no idea.

I don't understand any of the Hillary campaign
including DK and the flying monkeys over there. Truly. They are not liberals, and their candidate has no principles at all that I can discern. She and they also really seem to think they can browbeat and harangue people into voting for her, even when they know perfectly well that the people they're browbeating and haranguing feel strongly about economic injustice and murderous wars, both of which Hillary supports (although she is too slick to put it into those words). "No we can't" is just her underhanded way of trying to destroy our hope of ever seeing liberal values enacted by our government again. I don't vote for Republicans, and I have a particular aversion to Republicans who call themselves Democrats. I have not gone to Dkos since I logged out in early March. That would be misplaced sentiment. It is not the site I joined in 2004.
Twain Disciple
That's about right.
It's difficult to explain the day-to-day operations of a campaign organized around a pretense.
The ruling classes need an extra party to make the rest of us feel as if we participate in democracy. That's what the Democrats are for. They make the US more durable than the Soviet Union was.
They are fans not voters
When one is a fan, one's hero can do no wrong. Witness the Obama administration: - drones killing civilians, assassinations, fracking and drilling all over the country, Wall St. gets away with murder. None of that fazed the fans. For fans of Hillary, her slate has been wiped clean.

Good move if he wants his echo chamber.
All he has to do now is ban the BNR, and his entire progressive audience will go away.

How do we know OPOL was given a time out and not baned?
Because the Time Out symbol appears on OPOL's profile page.
Look, I have no real idea why OPOL continues to post diaries over at Daily Clinton. There's really only one message belonging in diaries over there -- "please come to caucus99percent.com." That's it.
