Help me create a flyer - Joe Biden's Record

Let's collaborate on this project. We need a flyer to give to friends, to post on Facebook, whatever, on Joe Biden's record. I can physically create it, but I am sure I do not have all the facts.

1. He voted for the Iraq war which killed # American soldiers and # civilians.
2. He wrote the crime bill which resulted in # citizens incarcerated for # years. The Violence Against Women Act was included but should have been separated from that bill.
3. He has advocated cutting Social Security.
4. He supported NAFTA, sending jobs abroad.
5. He was the VP of an administration that increased drone use and expanded wars.
6. He was the VP of an administration that bailed out the big banks but allowed the mortgage companies to strip everyday Americans from their homes.
7. He only recently supported gay marriage.

Please edit and add to this list. Then I will create a flyer.

Thanks! -m

Biden not only voted for the Iraq War he advocated for going into Iraq 5 years prior. The US was planning for this war well before the casus belli of 9/11.

This hearing was on Sept. 3, 1998. The Iraq Liberation Act of 1998, passed by the House (360 - 38) on October 5 (Bernie Sanders being among the "yay" votes) and passed with unanimous consent by the Senate on October 7. Clinton signed it into law on October 31.

The Americans Joe Biden Left Behind on the Bankruptcy Bill

In 2005 amendments to the bill, Biden voted against borrowers drowning in medical debt, seniors, servicemembers, union members, and victims of deadbeat dads. https://prospect.org/politics/bidens-votes-on-the-bankruptcy-bill-middle...

Burisma crookedness is every bit as important as those domestic and foreign issues enumerated. ByeDone is as crooked as a spirochete and just as dangerous.

Spirochetes

Many organisms within the Spirochaetes phylum cause prevalent diseases. Pathogenic members of this phylum include the following:

Leptospira species, which causes leptospirosis[7]
Borrelia burgdorferi, B. garinii, and B. afzelii, which cause Lyme disease
Borrelia recurrentis, which causes relapsing fever[8]
Treponema pallidum subspecies which cause treponematoses such as syphilis and yaws.
Brachyspira pilosicoli and Brachyspira aalborgi, which cause intestinal spirochaetosis[9]
Spirochaetes may also cause dementia and may be involved in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease.[10] Salvarsan, the first partially organic synthetic antimicrobial drug in medical history, was effective against spirochaetes only and was primarily used to cure syphilis.

Literally, have reams of material on all the proposed cuts to Social Security and Medicare. Stopping the GB was the sole reason I began blogging. IOW, to try to block the Bowles-Simpson Commission's proposal--"The Moment Of Truth."

Will start Tweeting some of them early next week, and post some of the stuff here, in case anyone else feels compelled to share it.

For instance,

Boehner would later tell me that he was determined to do this because he was tired, after 20 years in Washington, of seeing one Congress and one president after another ignore the coming explosion of spending on entitlement programs and the growing public debt.

He also shared Obama’s view that a grand bargain would actually be easier to pass than a smaller deal — that if lawmakers were going to have to make a bunch of politically explosive cuts, they were more likely to go through with it if they could go tell voters that they’d achieved something truly transformative.

As Biden put it, “There’s no point in dying on a small cross.”

And,

Obama mentioned to the others that they would have to carefully think about how to roll out the deal, to make sure that both sides were saying the same thing publicly.

That night, Jackson and Loper sent over a three-page proposal based on the discussions; in exchange for agreeing to the $800 billion in additional revenue, they asked for more than $450 billion in combined cuts to Medicare and Medicaid over the next decade alone, as well as a series of changes to Social Security, including a new formula for calculating benefits and a higher retirement age.

Also,

On entitlements too they had moved closer to a final deal. The (Obama) White House agreed to cut at least $250 billion from Medicare in the next 10 years and another $800 billion in the decade after that, in part by raising the eligibility age.

The administration had endorsed another $110 billion or so in cuts to Medicaid and other health care programs, with $250 billion more in the second decade.

And in a move certain to provoke rebellion in the Democratic ranks, Obama was willing to apply a new, less generous formula for calculating Social Security benefits, which would start in 2015.

They also agreed to a list of programs from which they could cut at least $200 billion more in the coming decade. These included an estimated $44 billion from pensions for civilian and military employees of the government; $30 billion from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac; $33 billion from farm subsidies and conservation programs; and $16 billion from reforming the Postal Service.

Gotta run, and take the Pup out. But, I assure you that I've got enough quotes to fill a small book. Biggrin

Remember, the Dems tried for almost six years to strike a deal with Repubs or, a so-called 'Grand Bargain'--trading revenue increases, by closing tax loopholes, for deep entitlement cuts.

It officially began in 2010, with the issuance of the Catfood Commission's 'Chairman's Mark' proposal. Almost immediately, Dems pivoted from enacting Obamacare, to trying to negotiate a deal (with Repubs) to dismantle our so-called 'entitlement programs,' or the social safety net.

Obviously, Uncle Joe was VP throughout this period of time.

BTW, also have a quote of Pelosi and Reid agreeing (with 'O') to back a Grand Bargain, including all the cuts outlined above. Obviously, Harry Reid won't suffer any blowback to speak of, but, ol' Nance just might.

Biggrin

Now, I have only a handful of Twitter followers, but, one of my old blogging Buds from a now defunct blog has thousands. Hopefully, she'll be willing to do a few Retweets. I've noticed that several major progressive publications follow her, so, might get a respectable number of eyeballs, as they say.

Hey, thanks for putting the word out.

Later.

Mollie
