I'd settle for freestyle in the half-pipe.

Or, in the cases of Bloomberg or Bye-Done, luge jumping.

but that stage set-up is controlled and defined by the DNC and they want to keep their new "angel" bringing serious money their way around for a very long time. For the right price, and Bloomberg can afford it, they'll sell off the whole party to him.

[addition] Bloomberg sponsored the debate; so, he was in a position to call shots on it. Not that the DNC would have invited Tulsi anyway.

@QMS That's what I told hubby earlier tonight. Mud wrestling, or a death match--six candidates enter, one leaves victorious. How would that go? We decided Warren would crack Bloomberg with a folding chair. Klobuchar would throw staplers at everyone. Bernie would stand off to one side, outside the fighting and talk about Medicare for All. Warren would continue to beat everyone with folding chairs, then in the end she and Bernie would go to fisticuffs. Now that would be worth watching!

Everyone thinks they have the best dog, and none of them are wrong.

after a long exhausting errand, just in time to hear Pete Bootyjudge declare that Bernie's MFA is exceptional worldwide in that it eliminates "ALL private health insurance," and then saw the repulsively snooty moderators pointedly ignore Bernie's raised hand (at which point I did what someone here said they did earlier this week, i.e., shouted my response so loud that I'm sure my neighbors heard it, so I added, "Hey, I probably care more about your rights than you do.")

What little I saw was inhumanly small and ignorant. Such an ugly system we have.

I dislike Pete Buttigieg even more than I did, if that's possible. Shut up, Pete, and let Bernie finish his sentence. Nobody wants to hear you interrupting Bernie.

You and your team selected Trump as the perfect GOP nominee (Bill even tasked to encourage Trump to run) to go down in flames against you. You and your cabal fixed the nomination for you in many seen and probably still many unseen ways. You and your oh so clever cabal are responsible for Donald fing Trump in the WH.

here in Germany as if I were in the United States?

If at least they had a blue carpet to walk her off into nowhere.

I remember the Berlinale from the years in the 1970ies. Today all I see in Germany are copy-cats of Oscar-style productions. I try to tell that my sister, but she has just a blank stare at the TV and tells me she really doesn't listen. She just needs a sound background to not feel too lonely.

Never forget that the average Joe and Jane in Germany have no clue (and may be don't want to get a clue) about how the US works and thinks. I am learning and it feels like I never make any progress at it.

Thanks, snoopy, from an ol' girl with no place to call home. Sniff, sniff, poor me. What a hoax life has become?

in the various essays here, I am happy to announce that I stuck with the right people on the right rescue piece of wood with you all saying what I was saying ... way before you did. Smile

Oh my, now what do I do with this day today? I think I have to take care of my baby, at least in spirit.

Thank you JtC, Joe Shikspack, Marie, and all of you good guys and gals. It is a pleasure to be with you, even when I am always on the wrong diary at the wrong time and missing the best of the best.

Here is a guy I liked a lot when I was 22 years old. I think he was smart. I wished I had been too. My own prediction of my own life were always complete outliers. Wink

How much does Buttigieg gets for playing with peoples' emotions to crush their minds? He is a real professional asshole, lover-boy, isn't he? Oops, I didn't say that, you just made it up me saying something unnice about President Buttigieg. Fake newsers, all of you !!!

Didn't catch that act of peevishness at the end. Now I'm wondering why at times she seemed be shoring up Bernie's flank. What's her end game here? Give credit where it's due. Liz is pretty good on the debate stage and could've went after Bernie a lot harder than she did. She almost seemed resigned to the fact that this race is over for her and sorta seemed to be getting back to Progressives against the rest to me. We'll see where this goes once Super Tuesday is past.

up
5 users have voted.

@crbngville I think her game is trying to catch a tailwind from Bernie while not scaring off the supers. So far, she's tried to walk both sides of the fence (progressive vs. establishment) and failed miserably at it. I don't anticipate things being any different now. But, I think this is why she's not going full bore at Sanders. She wants his supporters and his policies (or at least watered down, acceptable to TPTB versions of them.) The side effect is, she's essentially running interference for Sanders. Because Sanders is his policies, she can't really separate the two.

Idolizing a politician is like believing the stripper really likes you.

@Dr. John Carpenter
doubt Warren is even familiar with the term brokered convention.

Last ones were in 1952, both parties, but that was before the proliferation of state primaries. Although it took a couple decades for that to be completed. However, in all nominations since 1952, the nominee either had secured the requisite number of delegates before the convention or led in delegates going into the convention and won on the first ballot.

For marketing, both parties want to get the nomination completed on the first ballot. Otherwise, they go into the general election with too much intra-party disunity on public display. (Note: McGovern's campaign fell about days after the convention over his VP nominee. Perhaps those revelations were Republican rat-f**king but Democratic subversion that totally hid their hand.)
