Bloomberg & Trump Are the Same Guy When it Comes to Sexism

Nancy Pelosi, the DNC, and none of the cable news outlets will tell you this, but thank you Laura Bassett of GQ for your article, "Why Is Bloomberg's Long History of Egregious Sexism Getting a Pass?"

In December 2015, employees at Everytown for Gun Safety, the gun control organization funded by Mike Bloomberg, arrived at work to find a holiday gift on their desks from their employer: the former mayor’s 1997 autobiography, Bloomberg by Bloomberg. Flipping through the book, staffers found themselves uncomfortably reading their billionaire founder’s boasts about keeping “a girlfriend in every city” and other womanizing exploits as a Wall Street up-and-comer.

Indeed, Bloomberg’s casual boasts about his sex life in his own autobiography are now some of the least problematic parts of the his candidacy for president. In recent days, the former New York City mayor’s track record on race is undergoing renewed scrutiny: Bloomberg oversaw and expanded the racist and unconstitutional “stop and frisk” program, and a newly unearthed video shows him blaming the end of a racially discriminatory housing practice known as “redlining” for the 2008 economic recession. But it takes a telling amount of gall and cluelessness to gift a book with anecdotes about your own womanizing to employees at your gun safety non-profit in the year 2015, especially for a politician with presidential ambitions who has been vigorously denying allegations of misogyny throughout his entire career—including nearly 40 sex discrimination and sexual harassment lawsuits brought against him and his organizations by 64 women over the past several decades.

Of course, we all know the reason the Big 6 media companies aren't reporting this as Bloomberg spends millions of dollars for ads in primary states. He's in the race only to #StopBernie. And that is the one thing that will get you a free pass on your record of racism and sexism and any other ism. Sanders' surrogates and supporters who accurately report on the records and lies, etc. of Biden, Warren, Buttegieg, Harris, Booker and now Bloomberg are attacked in the media for being a vicious pack of dogs, a mob of brownsgirts and the second coming of Stalinism.

Benjamin Dixon, an African-American who operates an independent news outlet, was crucified on CNN for daring to post a video of Bloomberg's racist remarks defending his "stop and frisk" policy despite the fact it's real audio from his appearance at the Aspen Institute in 2015, and video from a radio interview in 2013. No mention of Bloomberg's atrocious racist comments, only criticism of the messenger, a black man.

CNN's Cristina Alesci: Podcaster Who Released Bloomberg Stop-And-Frisk Audio Is "Clearly A Bernie Supporter," "We Don't Know How He Got It"

CNN politics correspondent Cristina Alesci reports on the 2015 audio of Michael Bloomberg defending his stop-and-frisk street crime policy by saying he deployed "all the cops in minority neighborhoods" because that’s where "all the crime" is.

She said the podcaster who released the audio, Benjamin Dixon, is "clearly a Bernie supporter" and "very anti-Bloomberg." Alesci is a former Bloomberg News reporter.

Rest assured, as long as you're a candidate attacking Sanders no one in corporate media will criticize you for anything in your past, no matter how egregious. This was true after the 2016 wikileaks release of the DNC emails, where the media went after Assange as a Trump and Putin supporter for daring to publish real evidence of the DNC and Clinton campaign's election fraud, rather than discuss how Hillary stole the nomination, and it's true now.

No wonder the USA ranks 48th in Press Freedom (2019 rankings) by Reporters without Borders. Our corporate media is nothing but a catapult for propaganda.

The new Morning Consult national survey found a 10-point drop among Black voters in their confidence that Biden has the best shot of defeating Trump. Thirty-two (32) percent of Black voters said Sanders has the best chance of defeating Trump, followed by Biden and Bloomberg at 21.

Maybe those Bloomberg ads aren't swaying Black voters that much. I'm not sure, though, what the previous MC survey pegged Bloomberg's Black support at. My guess is that it did jump up. But damn, Bernie's ahead -- at least in terms of Black voters thinking he's best situated to beat Trump if not in terms of who they'll vote for. It'll be interesting what polls will be showing in the next week or two as we hit the rapids towards Super Tuesday.

except with the money Bloomberg has at his disposal he can find people who will defend it. Here are two black men offering us a "yeah it was really bad for black people who got caught in it, BUT:

[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjiiEt89Enw&list=TLPQMTQwMjIwMjCrrSeYgjy...

I think Krystal did a great job holding back her WTFs. It wasn't just that people were violently harassed and abused by cops who had immense power over them. If they were taken to jail on false pretenses it still took them time to move through the system. Many of them had outstanding non offensive violations like traffic tickets or jaywalking tickets or other tickets that people with money could take care of right away. But one guy didn't have the money and the penalties that came with a traffic ticket, got arrested, spent a day in jail. While in jail he lost his job because 'he wasn't there' of course and then didn't have the money to pay the ticket and got rearrested. Multiply that by whatever number and this is why stop and frisk was bad for people in the community that got flooded with cops because of Mike's racism.

But there are two blacks defending what Mike did. Why? Were they paid by him to do it? We can't know, but with Mike's habit of buying people off and into his campaign that is exactly where my mind went.

Here she goes after Bloomberg's statements on the mortgage crisis and redlining.

We need to take concrete steps to address the impact of redlining and the subprime mortgage crisis. I built an office at the @CFPB to fight lending discrimination and my housing plan helps families in formerly redlined areas to buy homes and build wealth.

Dodd-Frank had a clause in it to keep the banks from redlining poor neighborhoods. Had being the operative word because it was rescinded early on in Trump's tenure with enough votes from democrats to get it passed. I would think that Liz knows that it has gone the way of the dodo as have lots of clauses in D-F so why isn't she telling people that? And of course ole blue dawg Joe Manchin was there to vote for it as was the Alabama darling Doug Jones who only beat Ray Moore because of the number of black people who came out at the last minute to support him over the pedophile Moore. Nice way to pay them back Doug.

The union leadership decided not to endorse any candidate.

Petitioning and other actions by the rank and file membership also helped.

My guess is that the next vote for the executive board will produce a new leadership.

Michael Bloomberg is past president of the Alfalfa Club, an elite social organization founded in 1913 to celebrate the birthday of Robert E. Lee. The club began admitting African-Americans in 1974 and women in 1994. I bet most people won't be hearing about this either.

Mike Bloomberg, outgoing president, introduced John Kerry as the next president of Alfalfa Club. Bloomberg's best: "Who needs the White House when you can be president of the Alfalfa Club? Actually, I've loved every minute of it. I come to the office every weekday at 11 a.m."

It's a big club, and you ain’t in it. You and I are not in the big club. And by the way, it's the same big club they use to beat you over the head with all day long when they tell you what to believe. All day long beating you over the head in their media telling you what to believe, what to think and what to buy.

just think rich people are the cat's meow. Like some how they are smarter or better than anyone else. Hey their rich, they must be smart, let's vote for them. His past doesn't matter because BERNIE, and he's uber rich, which means lots of $$$ to their organizations. It's all bout the $$$ right?

For me, it would be worth it to take bloomberg's money, and then sabotage his campaign, from the inside. Oh how I wish...

@RantingRooster I too wish the same - milk Bloomie as much as possible and then give him a middle the finger. Also wish Bernie & Warren could team up & slap him in the debates; and he gets smacked in the primaries. My wish list...

Bloomberg not only bought the DNC, but he is continuing to buy off people so they will endorse him.

That both Trump and Bloomberg have lots of their own money to buy their elections further removes the mask on American politics doesn't it? People say that they don't have to be beholden to anyone, but both campaigns have huge super PACs full of lobbyists who see them as a way to get their agendas passed. Raise your hand if you have ever been to a fundraiser that was catered and had a wine list. Trump is going to one tonight where it costs $580,000 per couple. Just one of the many ways rich people get around campaign finance laws.

We peons don't have anyone in our camp that can lobby congress for our needs. And no matter what we do we can't get congress to listen to us and pass any legislation that we need. See the corruption is legal video to see how true this is. The rich have received trillions in tax cuts. Made laws that only benefit them. What do we get? Screwed.

@snoopydawg Yup, very depressing - Bloomie bought off AL Black legislators' group's endorsement, just a day after the stop & frisk tape came out. I for one would like to see him smacked on the debate stage and in the primaries. Keeping my fingers crossed inspite of my pessimism.

I don't want to hear any more bullshit nonsense about purity tests. We SHOULD hold our elected officials to a higher standard. At the very least, they should behave like civilized human beings. And most of them are proving that they can't even do that. And now the Dems are running an ACTUAL Republican for president?! WTF Bizarro-world bullshit is this?? And why do people keep voting for these clowns??! ARRRGH!
