I bought a plant when riverlover, divineorder and OPOL passed. I think of them every time I water the plants.
Thanks, JtC. Lots of pain and good memories in this post.

@snoopydawg
snoopydawg, you are such a wonderful soul and glad you have small ways to remember them. This election season would have upset and disgusted them as we are. Traveling with some of DO ashes in Costa Rica where he spent many happy days and spreading his memory as I travel along .

Life is what you make it, so make it something worthwhile.
I share your grief with him being gone. Not on the same level of course. It's a Palm type plant that reminds me of his discussing your trips in the tropics. I put a few seeds from my favorite tree, but they didn't grow in it but did in the grow pots. Now I'm trying to keep them alive though the winter, but they don't grow inside very well. I'll get them outside next year so they can acclimate to the winter. Unless I win the lottery and can build a greenhouse....Utah doesn't have it though.
I hope you are doing okay. It's coming up to a year isn't it?

The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?
#4 So many people that were on the last time I was and now I'll never see there witty posts and interesting personalities again.
Very sad.

She would mention how she was faring but I missed how very serious her condition was.
Another friend years ago told me she kept silent about her health because she did not want to suffer the "social death" that often happens when people speak openly about their illness.
Thank you JtC for speaking for the lives of our family here.

OPOL wrote to me virtually every day when he was in Costa Rico. What a unique friend!
He was my heart.
And the rest...wonderful hearts and minds.
Thank you for the reminder so we can all give them some appropriate acknowledgement, and appreciate they added to our lives wonderful moments, which are few, and far between in this harsh world.
And think of all of them often, as that is the way to preserve their legacy, and keep them alive.

For posting this thread. It serves as a reminder to us all that every voice is special and once that voice has become extinguished, it leaves a void in our community that can never be replaced. Thank you for reminding me of how much we have lost over the years.

They all made contributions in their own ways. RIP.

I was thinking of riverlover
just the other day.
Something about a photograph....
Gëzuar!!
from a reasonably stable genius.
Maybe eyo's photo, taken the day after ...
I hope eyo is well enough.
I miss her and her golden bee avatar

What a waste. Life is indeed short. How can people not think of those who will survive us?
I've seen lots of changes. What doesn't change is people. Same old hairless apes.
Thank you Johnny, and all for the remembrances.
All, very special people, they were.
Thank you, JtC

A timely reminder.
Aww damn, it's raining on my cheeks again.
Neither Russia nor China is our enemy.
Neither Iran nor Venezuela are threatening America.
Cuba is a dead horse, stop beating it.
Couldn't possibly forget.
riverlover posted every week in my OT. native--wow, I loved his wisdom. And OPOL...well, what can you say? What an amazing human being.
