Friday Night Photos Oregon Road Trip Edition pt3
Happy Friday everyone. That time of the week again. Photos, memes, music or anything else you find interesting, this is the place to post them.
Tonights photos are the last from my trip to Oregon. Just a few miles north of where we were staying in Netarts is Cape Meares where they have a small lighthouse and the octopus tree. The tree is a Sitka Spruce. It measures 46 ft in circumference and has no central trunk. Instead the limbs extend as much as 16ft horizontally before turning upward. It is 105 ft tall and is believed to be 250-300 years old.
Not very big but it gets the job done

And the moment you've all been waiting for - the octopus tree

The scenery is impressive. It looks like you and your camera
had a good time coupled with the family get together.
Ps.
It is nice that the octopus tree has its own sign making it famous.
Hi, humphrey
The scenery was impressive. It would have been nice to spend a few more days there exploring all that scenery. I wonder, did the sign make the tree famous or did the tree make the sign famous? It's that whole chicken and egg thing.

Easy to appreciate the dramatic scenery
.
thru your photo journals. Did you get some cheese in Tillamook?
BTW, it appears those deer haven't run for
awhile. The advantage of having land, you can put old
machinery out to pasture without being lawn ornaments.
A well maintained lighthouse is a pleasure to behold.
Thanks for sharing the shots.

Hi, Q
The Oregon coast was beautiful. I definitely want to go back and explore it some more. Didn't have any Tillamook cheese but I did have some of their ice cream. It was delicious. I bet you have your fair share of lighthouses in your neck of the woods.
