I was a Regional VP for AFSCME/AFL-CIO during that cycle and I and many others in the lower level leadership positions fought the international HARD on this, we told them time and time again they were backing a candidate that was almost universally despised by the membership.
It fell on death ears and when they officially came out in support of Clinton the drop cards came in like a downpour fast. (Right to work state so it wasn't closed shop)
Guess it proves that either the leadership is corrupt, they have disdain for the membership and thought they knew better than them, or both.
Either way, their disregard of the will of the membership was about as Anti-union and undemocratic as you can get.
I managed to bring a lot of them back but it took tons of time, lots of travel across the state and hours upon hours of apologizing for the International while trying to convince the members that just because leadership screwed up was not a significant enough reason to leave the rest of their brothers and sisters hanging.
It was a tough time that could have easily been avoided. They would have been better off not giving an endorsement at all.

My understanding of Shadow
Shadow is a for profit company that is a subsidiary of Acronym, a tech company founded by corporate Democrats with strong ties to the Clinton and Buttigieg campaigns. As such, there would be no donations to Shadow. There could be contracts and the Buttigieg and Biden campaigns apparently had contracts with Acronym or Shadow. Acronym also runs a corporate Democrat PAC called...you guessed it....PAcronym. The donations shown could be to Pacronym.

Of course her spiel was very aggressive, pointed out the corruption, etc. Funny thing though, she never mentioned the obvious hypocrisy in that hearing - how did a CEO alone get a change in a last minute spending bill repealing that particular item from Dodd Frank WITHOUT the help of Congress and Senate? Not a peep on just which critters take bucks from Citibank who wrote that last minute provision to the bill. Huh. Imagine that.
