Buh-Bye, Top Tier Cop! The Desperation Is Noticeable For A Party So Phonily Invested In Racial Politics.

No one who's really paying attention should be the least bit surprised, especially those who don't pay attention to the stupid pageantry of the non-stop quadrennial circus, MSM debate/punditry barrage, that Kamala just dropped out. A couple of tweets at the end to cover the obvious.

I'm more interested in the other too many examples of MSM & DNC collusion becoming way too obvious. The corporate donors and owners own the souls of the Democratic Party, and they keep desperately trying to foist these horrendous, vacuous, corporate lackeys upon us, because, Anybody But Bernie. "He's not even a Democrat, he's a socialist, he's got a misogyny problem, a black problem, uh...blah blah blah blah blah," etc etc etc.

Here's the rest of the Twitter thread (instead of embedding each tweet):

The 2020 field is so damn problematic and no one is really talking about it because Trump is president. I forgot who initially tweeted about Trump winning in 2016 meant Dems were gonna go full racist to win in 2020. That person deserves a medal. They were right.

I mean if you just take a moment to break down the “top tier” candidates, whew chile, there’s a gold mine of possible thesis papers on the pathology of the white liberal class and their racism problem.

I mean, every single one of them have issues. From Joe “Jim Crow” Biden, to Elizabeth “I lied about being Native” Warren, to Pete “Black people are homophobic” Buttigieg and Kamala “cop” Harris. The field is thick with problematic racism and entitlement.

The “Bernie Bro” narrative is tired and burned out when you’re pushing these top tier candidates. Which, by the way was a reused racist trope Hillary used against Obama in 2007 with Obama Boys. She repurposed it for Bernie, completely erasing his support from Women and BIPOC.

And a couple of comments and her responses:

The DNC just keep pushing these lies. Maybe this time people ain't buying it. When black folks found out about who Kamala really was they saw the ruse. Same with Petey Boy. The desperation just grows.

And, on the other side of the Duopoly fraud, the Righties can willfully keep telling us to keep our governnment-loving hands off of their Medicare but they're slolwly boiling in their own reticence to wake up to the "socialism" that's already all around them.

When this town in FLA lost its only grocery store the municipality stepped in and created one themselves. This is how it's done, folks.. Just don't tell them that's socialism - they might stop eating all together.

The dynamic synergy of online Left Media just keeps getting more solid, radical and focused. good stuff here, with Krytsal Ball appearing with Michael Brooks's excellent crew (one of whom adds a great story about the conditions that led to a young Karl Marx radicalizing - at 8min, give or take)

So Copmala dropped out because she just didn't have the funds to compete, and "wasn't a billionaire."

Uh, doesn't look like it was money...

KamalaCop.jpeg

This guy is so obviously barely running on fumes. Couldn't be better for Bernie to point to as the embodiment of disconnected, entitled, insider politics.

They're gonna have to reckon soon enough with a Bernie Sanders Socialist movement that keeps gaining strength.

Many black people ARE homophobic. I learned that during my time in the US Army. Some black men refused to let a woman kiss them if she'd ever given a man oral sex. Some wouldn't give women oral sex because "dicks had been in there". Others waylaid and beat up the few gay members of the unit. Perhaps less are homophobic nowadays, but denying that it exists is just plain foolish.

Oh Kamala, Gone so soon? She was soooo top tier! We hardly knew thee... But what we knew wasn't good. Sure it was just not enough money, and not the lack of traction. I bet that Mnuchin dude will have some work for her. On that Michael Tracy tweet showing the Nate Silver pentagon graph of support, the problem is that the green pentagon of support was "shown larger than actual size" by about 10 bazillion factors.

The media manufactured appearance of support can only last as long as the billionaire backers play along.

Thanks for sharing the great news.

Some replies.

Everything you said defies reality, establishment loved Kamala, they feted her in the Hamptons & Martha's Vineyard & threw money at her, she was everything they like, a fashionable WOC with a resume who would do anything they asked, they didn't count on her failure under pressure

Yeah, blustering law-and-order DA who tries to pull a fast one on the same demos she was kicking down on the way up - the Dem establishment had never seen anything like that before!

The "how wrong can one person be" question has been definitively answered.

One tweet said that calling her a cop was racist. Umm..she is the one who said that she is the top cop. Whoboy it's been funny watching how the establishment is trying to cover for her.

@snoopydawg Even as Charles Pierce is claiming the Democratic race is poorer without Kamala, he doesn’t make the case why except she’s a woman of color who made Brett Kavanaugh cry. Aside from Tulsa’s justified takedown, Harris never articulated a reason for being in the race. She started out vaguely progressive sounding but when Warren took that lane, she seemed to have nowhere to go. And, from what I’ve heard, she seems to be about as bad as HER at running a campaign.

Also to claim she just ruffled too many feathers, please! As I recall, she was the first “hope” the mainstream Dems had (before their flirtation with Beto and now Mayo Pete.) Everything was all lined up. Unfortunately (for her) she was a shit candidate who didn’t have much to run on.

I just am so tired of this idea that we the people let candidates like Kamala down. Bull!

Harris really never explained why she thought she should be president did she? I have vague recollections of someone asking her that question but she didn't answer it. She was the first hope for the democrats when Hillary threw a fundraiser for her at the Hamptons. Oops she just never lived up to the hype.

It's racist to call her a cop? Does this mean that she is a racist then?

I'm sorry, but her laugh grates on me.

those types of tweets and bring them to my attention. Plus I follow people like Neera Tanden just to see what type of talking points she wants us to believe.

One thing I am not seeing with Harris dropping out is that she didn't do it because people were sexist, misogynistic and racist. Yes I am seeing that too. But Harris stated that the number 1 reason she had to drop out is because of money. Warren started this fiasco way early after the primaries were done which is making it one damn long primary season which is going to very expensive for everyone to stay in the race. Why did Warren start her campaign this far in advance? Well for one reason it's a great way to distract us from the other things that Trump and congress is doing. No one is talking about Trump's war on regulations. No more talk about border issues. The ongoing wars of terror, ect...

People are autopsying Harris' campaign from every angle but from the amount of money being spent on this farce primary with the 25 and counting clowns in the democrat's car.

The moment Joe Biden is told that Senator Kamala Harris dropped out. The 10 seconds where he doesn't know who she is are adorable.

I think he simply froze (ala Warren) because he saw the pitfalls of an impromptu statement.

As he walks out to the press he mutters, "This is dangerous, man."

For Joe, it's actually a rare moment of clarity.

Her dropping out shouldn’t have come as a shock to him. She’s been on the ropes for some time.

If he’s ready to be president, he really should not panic over such a simple political task as making a vague, polite statement wishing her well or some such nonsense. If he thinks it’s “dangerous” to say anything, it sounds like he knows he’ll likely drop the ball and say something inappropriate or stupid. Total loser, very close to being as bad as hilz. He definitely makes my skin crawl.

@CS in AZ Obviously I’ve never run for office but I always thought you’d have to have at least a sketch of what to say in a situation like that floating around in the back of your head, especially when it’s pretty clear something is about to happen like this. Kind of like how newspapers have obituaries ready for tons of people, just in case. He just seemed really unprepared for a lower tier candidate to drop out and that’s baffling.

But especially when he's called on to riff spontaneously about the exit of a rival candidate who all but called him a segregationist and who happens to share racial characteristics with that same demographic constituency whose support is critical to the continued viability of Joe's campaign.

The fact that Joe recognized his limitations as a speaker in that moment means that he has finally, after fifty years of politicking, developed a smidgen of self awareness.

Basically, Joe had a moment of personal growth. Nice to see.

At the end of third quarter she had $10 million cash on hand. She slashed her operations and focused on Iowa to save money.
At the end of the third quarter Biden had $9 million cash on hand. Unless his fund raising has really taken off in the last two months, he must be running on pocket change he found in the sofa.

@Mark from Queens
indeed. Wait until we start seeing numbers from the Bloomberg campaign.
Some portion of Biden's $9 million (I don't know how to extract the correct number from the FEC reports) will be money from big donors that's earmarked for the general election. Any such money has to be refunded if you don't win the primary.
Anything left over from your primary funds after you drop out can go to about three places.
You can give it all to the party. That's the old school way of doing it, people would do that when they retired from politics.
You can roll it over into your next campaign. I expect Buttigieg to roll a staggering amount into his Indiana governor's race fund. He'll be able to bury the Republican candidate in spending and pretty much guaranteed to win. Harris, if she has anything left, will roll it over into her next California senate campaign.
Or you can establish a personal PAC that you can continue to milk for the rest of your life. Newt Gingrich was the master at this. And since the money can eventually end up in your pocket, yes these grotesque contributions are indeed bribes.

Here's Krystal Ball's take on the demise of the Harris campaign. Sadly, the comments on this topic elsewhere had many sad folks calling for her to get the VP or AG slots. Her clumbsy campaign argues against putting her on the ticket and her track record against making her AG (Loretta Lynch II?). There are a lot of folks out there who just take a very shallow look at a candidate before going all-in.

Cornel West was asked if the diversity in the Democratic Presidential primary has value and matters:

...when you talk about diversity you can't just talk about skin pigmentation or gender or sexual orientation. You can have neoliberal politicians who have different colors, different genders, different sexual orientations - but they're still not diverse ideologically.

You have to make a decision: which ones have longevity of integrity when it comes to having solidarity with poor and working people?

Q: But surely there is some inherent value, is there not, to having a field of candidates who look more like America, than just a row of 10 white men on stage debating?

CW: Oh absolutely. But I'll tell you this though, brother: If I had ten white brothers who consisted of John Brown, Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, brother Brady from Kentucky and William O. Douglas from the Supreme Court - all of them courageous, visionary, and highly progressive - I'd rather have them, than to have some people of color who are part of the legacy of some neoliberal icon.

The whole thing is great. Hasan tries to corner him about his Jill Stein vote but he's not having, "I'm not on automatic: it's not just by instinct that I'm gonna vote for anybody."
