Midnight Mulling - Fat Lozenge or Horse-Pill
A lozenge is:
A lozenge, often referred to as a diamond, is a form of rhombus. The definition of lozenge is not strictly fixed, and it is sometimes used simply as a synonym for rhombus. Most often, though, lozenge refers to a thin rhombus—a rhombus with acute angles of less than 45°. The lozenge shape is often used in parquetry and as decoration on ceramics, silverw…
etc. (No point in straining wikipedia's server - just illustrating a point, and bing wants the traffic.)
And what about Senior Linux? That needs some thinking. .005 was the last chapter - just before the stroke. That was almost 2 1/2 years ago, so you would think .006 should be done, right? Or the concept itself trashed. But here are some turns and twists that have appeared in front of me:
- {{{2013}}} - the original 'official' SeniorLinux .006 preview:
Next time: what to look for in a used workstation when you aren't able to open it up. In other words how can you tell which are Chevy Caprice sedans, or Buick Roadmaster station wagons; and which are the Ford Crown Victoria police pursuit vehicles.Note: the contents had not yet been written.

- {{{2013 to 2016}}} - The competition against Linux got better
- {{{2015}}} - Windows 10

You probably have some different issues, but that was the list that managed to make it on my personal list - today. Next week, some of the entries may be gone; and new entries may enter. Or not.
And if you have read this far, there it is (although this actually depends on your video screen*). In the lower-right corner. A lozenge. Or if you prefer, the horse-pill. And it used to be a circle. Then, a kind person with smarts put the circle on a diet. Thus the lozenge. Not a stark rectangular shape, the lozenge has a gentle shape at the top and the bottom. While the sides are verticals: one on each side. And in the middle - a chevron, like this "Argent a chevron gules" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevron_%28insignia%29
(There is a down-pointed chevron also, but we don't need the downers here at Midnight Mulling.)
What do you do with the lozenge? I mean, it appeared on its own - that's pretty cool - I guess. Is that all?
Oh there is more. Because when you reach the end, a click anywhere in the big - but not too big - lozenge takes you up - all the way to the top.
Typography can take a simple shape or two and give it meaning. And that's enough. And when the utilitarian becomes art, I am happy.
*If your video screen can't display the lozenge, it is usually for your safety - because you probably have a portable device. Don't want to trip when you are walking and reading at the same time, right?

Thanks for the UpThumb
And for reading.

Strange that a harp of thousand strings should keep in tune so long
Evening, john.
The "lozenge" appeared on my cell screen
some time today, so I guess there's no
embedded safety feature for those using
spyphones.
Actually, I never found the circle too big,
although I do prefer the slimmed-down
version now that it has appeared. Whatever
the size, I do much like having a handy,
quick-to-access way to return to the top
of the page.
Hope the evening is treating you well - and
have another upvote!

That up-arrow thingie on the lower right?
I love its convenience. Stuck on android device, whatever AT&T wants to stick-me-with browser doesn't have it but Chrome does. OFFon my PC does as well.
My favorite lozenge is super-strength VitaminD. It's also green, looks like an emerald.
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
