Libya could soon implode

Libya has four de facto competing governments. The internationally recognized government in the east, an Islamist leaning government in Tripoli, the U.N.-backed unification government, and ISIS. All of them hold large chunks of the country, except for the U.S.-backed unification government, which is actually based in outside the country in Tunis.
The weakness of the U.N.'s case was fully on display yesterday.

The extent of the crisis was hammered home on Wednesday when UN envoy Martin Kobler was prevented from travelling to Tripoli to work on installing the GNA.
"Again had to cancel flight to Tripoli... UN must have the right to fly (to) Tripoli," he wrote on Twitter, without specifying what had blocked the mission.
The GNA has not been formally endorsed by either parliament but it announced earlier this month it was taking office on the basis of a petition signed by a narrow majority of Libya's elected lawmakers

The unification government does not control Libya's finances, nation army, nor does it have legitimacy in the eyes of the people of Libya.
Most people are probably not aware that the U.N. has tried nearly this exact same formula before - in Somalia. The results were disastrous to say the least, and that Somalia government wouldn't even exist today if not for the extremely bloody invasion of Somalia by christian Ethiopia.
To make matters worse, the unification government of Libya was born in scandal.

The new quasi-government is the brain-child of former UN envoy Bernardino Leon. Mr. Leon made quite the scandal when he was caught working for the U.A.E. while he was trying to negotiate a Libyan peace agreement. Why is that a scandal? Because U.A.E. was busy shipping weapons to one of those rival governments, in violation of international law, a transaction that Leon was completely aware of.

Libya is already a failed state according to Army Gen. David Rodriguez.

"It was very easy to break Libya, just like it was very easy to break Humpty Dumpty”
- Alan J. Kuperman, professor at the University of Austin

It's not a secret that the U.S.-led coalition took a U.N.-mandate to protect civilians and turned it into a regime change mandate.
It's also not a secret that then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was instrumental in lobbying for this regime change.

What makes this history relevant is that Libya could be on the verge of a worse case scenario - descending into chaos, where the war spills over the borders, with our troops in the middle of it all. I can't see how this wouldn't effect the political campaign.
Let's take this one at a time:

Descending into chaos

I just returned from Libya for the first time in over a year, and the situation is deteriorating...
Given this patchwork of governments and militias, Libya is tense, on the verge of implosion.

The American military has been getting more involved in Libya, including bombing ISIS positions. So how has that worked?

Two days later, the United States hit an ISIS compound in Sabratha, a town about 40 miles west of Tripoli, killing 41 militants. The mayor of Sabratha lauded the airstrike, claiming his government had no knowledge of ISIS's presence. Three days later, hundreds of other ISIS fighters -- who he also says he did not know about -- stormed Sabratha, raising a black flag over the center of town.

War spills over the borders

Fear engulfed Tunisia on Monday that Islamic State mayhem was spilling over from neighboring Libya, as dozens of militants stormed a Tunisian town near the border, assaulting police and military posts in what the president called an unprecedented attack.
At least 54 people were killed in the fighting in the town, Ben Gardane, which erupted at dawn and lasted for hours until the security forces chased out what remained of the assailants. An enormous stash of weapons was later found.

Our troops in the middle of it

Britain has discreetly deployed military advisers to Libya in order to build an army to fight Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant cells in the country, The Sunday Telegraph has been told.
Special forces commandos are said to be working alongside their US counterparts in the city of Misrata to stop the jihadists’ progress in the lawless terrain across the sea from Italy.
Even as diplomats in Washington, London and European capitals push for the formation of a unity government in Libya, US military operatives have begun “giving tactical training” to select local militias, Western officials, US congressional aides and sources on the ground have revealed.

It doesn't take much imagination to see how this situation could implode very quickly and very soon.
If it does the news media will be asking pointed questions to both President Obama and Hillary Clinton.

You deserve a. . . . something.

So, if elected, which country is next on your Destructo List?

It would be helpful to know. That any, if you elected, I know to which country NOT to emigrate.

the Demolition or Destruction Testing Industries

Given that's what the US does best, I'd say she's running for the right job.

real story about why the U.S. attacked Libya and it's proven she lied to get the U.N. resolution for a No Fly zone when in fact they were going to bomb the shit out of the entire country for seven months. Gold, oil, Israel, and an independent African currency.
It's even more amazing she's able to run for President of the United States.

Thanks for putting this up. It's important. This is the type of information that should be on the nightly news. Now it's just sensationalism and fluff on most TV news shows, whether it's on cable or network. Thanks again.

Everyone knows that Iran is in the cross hairs of the U.S.'s next conquest. We will need a damn good reason to make war on the Iranians though - I'm sure the story will be a good one - children killed, Navy ship fired on, bombing traced back to some Ayatollah or an attack on an oil tanker. The story will be so horrifying as to make the U.S. population ask for blood. After the Sandy Hook thing I'm at a loss for what could be a more horrifying act - but they always seem to come up with something that satisfies...

As we always knew, and observed, but were never allowed to do anything about...
Iran provided Anti-tank mines to certain Iraqi forces. Those were used to immobilize MRAPS.
I'm willing to bet that information will suddenly become INCREDIBLY relevant when a sufficiently narrative moment is needed.

I should mention that a direct hit on Iran will probably NOT come without a big economic crash associated with the offensive. The MSM is getting pretty good at staging events such that the misdirection often comes with another "fox news alert" story...

her owners' wishes only too well while doing a grave disservice to ordinary Libyans. It's all so predictable: the neocons never experience consequences. They just kill, feed, move on, and repeat.
