Tulsi Double-Dare Qualifies and Hits 2% in National Poll for First Time
There are rules, you see. Many, many rules. So speaketh the DNC.
In order to get a spot in the first two televised national Democratic debates, you must reach at least one of two goals. 1) Get 65,000 unique donors to your campaign; or 2) score at least 1% or more in three separate polls in a nationwide or Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, or South Carolina poll from a predetermined slate of poll takers.
And, there can only be 20 total candidates (that's another rule).
But, with creepy uncle Joe entering the race there are now 21 official candidates on the Democratic side--and probably a couple more on the way. What happens if more than 20 candidates make one of the two goals above? Well, then you need to have BOTH goals to qualify for the debates. That will cut out a number of lesser candidates. Not all 21 candidates have met at least one of the goals (e.g., Mike Gravel).
Well Tulsi now has BOTH of those goals under her belt! Today CNN released a poll that puts her at 2% nationwide (poll of 1,007 people) her highest national poll yet. Previously, when the same poll was conducted in mid-March, she didn't even rate a percentage (she possibly got zero votes, compared to the 20 or so she received this time):
She also received 1.17% in a Suffolk University/Boston Globe New Hampshire poll today as well, which also counts:
She previously had 1% in a national Monmouth University poll and 1% in a University of New Hampshire poll, which both qualify for the poll goal. So, as of today, she has made her debate appearance even more sure.
As Tulsi gains more notice, she continues to commit herself to public service, even during her campaigning. A couple days ago, she helped out with Iowa's flood recovery, getting her hands dirty (she's pretty agressive at breaking down walls!):
Tusli helps clean up flood damage
Very early on in her campaign someone asked her if she would tear down The Wall that Trump was building between the USA and Mexico if she became president. Her answer was "With my own hands". After seeing the video above, I'm starting to believe it.

the only candidate I respect - I am sure they will change
the rules so that she will be invisible. It's a system maintained by bastards. Can't barely stand to read anything about it anymore. May be if she gets *disappeard' so to speak, we should also use our own hands to disappear those, who are responsible for it.
Thank you so much to keep up the work to inform us about what she is doing. An honest woman and an honest candidate. Kudos to her (and to you to help her).

The silver lining if Bernie gets sabotaged again...

Yay!
You go girl!
It's simple enough
She needs to be on the stage with the Top 10, not at the kiddy table with the others.
It's the only way she can reach real people and overcome the DNC/Koskids that hate her...
On latest polls, Harris, Booker, Warren, Robert Francis and more are dropping to single digits to the juggernaut of 80 year old white men that are just fucking crushing it. Who the hell are taking these polls? Grandparents with landlines?
We need Tulsi to be on that stage.

And Sanders is a phenomena in himself. He is the only one who appears to match Trump's energy.
But I'm really glad Tulsi is gaining traction - I don't agree with her wall position, but I hope I can vote for her or Bernie in the primary.

I not only agree with her wall position
That would be interesting.
My guess would be that the people from the other continent have more skills.

@dfarrah I notice you didn't
I really have no idea
I couldn't care less about PC.
I don't support immigration now or the HB1 programs; as far as I'm concerned, these programs harm the US workers.
dfarrah
so who is an immigrant in your opinion?
not everyone who comes to the US to work,
1. can work
2. can only work if they get a green card
3. and if they have one, they usually work and pay taxes and seldom take a job away from US workers.
4. and if they are permanent legal residents, not everybody applies for citizenship.
When I got a green card, there was a quota for people from each country. They took a certain number from each of those countries.
Am I an immigrant? Or just by chance left hanging in DC for 35 years?
And btw may be if the folks from the Latin and South America weren't exploited so much, they wouldn't have to come today illegally to feed themselves and their families. May be it's the payback for former sins of exploitation.
Same is true for Europe, especially Germany.

Who is an immigrant?
The fact remains is that people from other countries who move to other countries are taking jobs away from the citizens of that country, unless there is some rare skill involved. They are taking resources that would otherwise be used for citizens of the country.
That said, I don't begrudge the people who work here under our current system. But I am hoping that Congress will change the laws. After all, my Dad was an engineer who worked in Canada for year or two. Canada did not allow him to work beyond their limit for good reason - they want the job to go to a Canadian.
I'm someone who got to watch a tech department fire US citizens and hire Indians. Now, since I work in the non-profit area, I get to see resources diverted from US citizens to non-citizens. I will always support my country-people over non-citizens.
The people headed to the US from S. America are most definitely not starving. Look at the pictures. They are well fed, surprisingly well dressed, and carry accommodations with their neat little back packs. Oh, and they march behind their country's flags. Compare them to real refugees in Africa, for example, who are nothing but skin and bones, dressed in dirty rags.
These S. American people comprise well-funded, well-organized groups that are being supported by some very wealthy donors for whatever reason. These people could very well use their remarkable organizational talents in their own country, rather than wasting resources on a completely unproductive activity and taking resources from others.
These countries already receive millions in aid from the US, and Trump even proposed more aid to stimulate their economies (but I don't know if that proposal was implemented).
It is not my intent to hurt your feelings by stating my opinions. Germany has been an economic powerhouse for a long, long time; I thought Germany had lower poverty than the US and better safety nets. So, maybe this informs your more generous attitude.
Before the depression, I never thought too much about immigration. Even now, with fuller employment and wages finally going up, I just see too many issues in the US that should have resource priority.

Personal Campaigning
Right now I am trying to put together a tabling strategy for Tulsi's campaign including banners, t shirts, brochures, etc. and am looking for some special help. Seems to me that a month or 2 back someone had posted a fantastic painting which was a peace poster with Tulsi. It was just out of this world. Is anyone aware of such work that we might buy for display at our Tulsi events or putting onto to t shirts or whatever. Not looking for a free ride, just looking for that inspirational winning ticket.

I just got an email from her indicating the DNC was
probably going to jack up the donor requirement from 65,000 to 100,000. That would make her 31,000 short at present.
