I just drafted a post about Tiberius's will and the weird California case of Lucas v. Hamm. (Beneficiaries of a will invalidated by a court sued the lawyer who drafted the will for malpractice. The plaintiffs' lawsuit wasn't weird, but the court's decision was.)
As I was was adding a bit about the Wagner Act and the Taft Hartley Act, the page on which I was typing somehow turned into my email's home page, which I reflexively closed. Yadda, yadda, I was not able to recover my post in the making. Sigh. Malpractice in posting. And, of course, like all my posts that vanish irretrievably into nowhere, it was the best post that I've ever written and its disappearance is not only my loss, but a loss to all of humanity. (-;
I nonetheless wish you and all Caucusers--oh, heck, everyone, a good Monday, oh heck, week, month, year, life. (Why be a chintzy wisher?)

to peruse your masterpiece. Remind me when I redo my will not to make any references to the acts of actions of the probate court, not that I intended to. Yet another perpetuities trap. I seem to recall that t be an area where courts have been known to cut drafters of holographic wills a bit of slack, but even if that is a correct recollection, that was also a half century ago. My wife and I expect no Jarndyce v Jarndyce, but, then again, who does.

Proud grandma has to share or burst....
#1 grandson just got a fully funded, three year scholarship to the London School of Economics for his PhD in Environmental Policy and Development. And..as if it could get any better...his employer in Sweden is recommending him for a promotion, a raise, and giving him leave to go. His plan is to continue working part time for his org in Sweden and to go to class in London for at least the first year when he has to take classes. Apparently commuting between countries is all the thing nowadays for overachieving millennial ex-pats. He's really happy, and we are all really proud of all of his hard work. So glad to see it paying off.

King of the Surf Guitar.
Saw him play at Toad's Place in New Haven back in the 90's when he was on his pulp fiction tour. He laid it out solid for a good 2 hours. He and Tito Puente were the two best live performances I have ever seen by far. What an amazing performer.

He used to play around Orange County CA when I lived there. I got to see him play as the opening act at a few shows I worked. As a former resident of Huntington Beach. I can say he will be missed!

I was a major fan of surf music and still am. I never had the
chance to See Dick Dale live, unfortunately. The song posted, pipeline, one of the classics, wasn't written by him, but by the Chantays, but I'm sure you probably know that. I see that it has SRV - I stumbled across a clip of that duet years ago that had them both performing in the video, but also a lot of interspersed background action that was pretty much unwatchable - some sort of promo for some sort of beach movie.

Interesting, I knew it was huge, but not that huge. It's been
on my mind recently because I've been thinking about TV's two purposes for existence, propaganda and marketing, and what a vast amount of resources we spend promoting consumerism.
