Netanyahu stopped lying. Why that's scary.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently accidentally tweeted the truth, and people noticed.

Just before a U.S.-sponsored conference that was supposed to be about Iran but isn’t, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu changed the subject back again. At the conference in Warsaw, he said, Israel would be meeting in public with Arab foreign ministers “to advance the common interest of war with Iran,” according to a tweet from his office.

Yikes. Twitter pounced. Headlines blared. The prime minister’s office swiftly erased the tweet and claimed there was a translation error. A new tweet changed “war with Iran” to “combating Iran.”

There was no point in deleting the tweet. Everyone knows the truth.

While this caught people's attention, this is actually just the latest in a pattern of "truth-telling" by Netanyahu that shows how completely evil his administration is.
Less than two weeks ago the Netanyahu Administration told the truth about Israel's involvement in Syria's civil war.

In his final days as the Israel Defense Forces’ Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Gadi Eisenkot confirmed, on the record, that Israel had directly supported anti-Assad Syrian rebel factions in the Golan Heights by arming them.

This revelation marks a direct break from Israel’s previous media policy on such matters. Until now, Israel has insisted it has only provided humanitarian aid to civilians (through field hospitals on the Golan Heights and in permanent healthcare facilities in northern Israel), and has consistently denied or refused to comment on any other assistance.

To put that into context, the only Syrian rebel groups that bordered Israel from 2015 to 2018 was al-Qaeda and ISIS.
That's our cherished ally, arming head-chopping jihadists that are supposedly our enemies.

Netanyahu has also stopped lying about bombing Syria.

Then yesterday, the Netanyahu Administration doubled-down on their war threats.

Israel’s military intelligence has said that “Iran may use Iraq as a launching pad to target Israel, which would call for a response from Tel Aviv”.

“Israeli airstrikes against Iranian forces in Syria may prompt Iranians to build military and missile facilities,” it said in its annual assessment, adding: “This situation will require Israel to intensify its intelligence efforts in Iraq, with the possibility of taking operational steps there if Iranian proliferation becomes a military threat”.

Besides bombing Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, Israel now wants to bomb Iraq.
Iraq. Where we have thousands of soldiers stationed, supposedly to "watch" Iran.

Trump's comment has raised Iraqi fears that the U.S. could draw it into conflict with neighboring Iran. It has also left U.S. officials, including the acting defense secretary, scrambling to reassure Iraqi leaders that the United States respects Iraqi sovereignty... Several opposing parties are now increasing efforts to move parliament to a vote on ending the U.S. presence when lawmakers reconvene in March.

There are two takeaways from Netanyahu's horrible honesty.

1) No politician like Netanyahu discards lying unless he's confident that there will be no consequences for telling the truth.
And he's right. Washington will back the Israeli government no matter how many wars it starts and how many atrocities it commits.

2) Netanyahu is broadening and expanding his violence. He wants a retaliation. He wants some Israeli casualties. He wants an open war with Iran.
Netanyahu has a good reason for this. Because while Israel is unmatched militarily in the region (especially with the U.S. backing), Netanyahu does fear one thing: his growing corruption scandal.

The announcement set Israel abuzz with suspense late Monday afternoon: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had a “dramatic statement” to deliver at 8 p.m., at the start of the most heavily watched news hour.

Would it be about Iran? Hezbollah? Hamas? The Trump peace plan?

The subject, it turned out, was an existential threat not to Israel, but to Mr. Netanyahu’s career.

For seven minutes on live television — enormously valuable exposure with elections only three months away — Mr. Netanyahu railed against a corruption investigation into his dealings with several Israeli media tycoons that is widely expected to culminate soon in an indictment on bribery and other criminal charges.
...
At least one television channel cut away midspeech.

Others carried the full performance, which was indeed dramatic if not quite in the way Mr. Netanyahu intended. The announcement, a chorus of political rivals and analysts quickly concluded, was the drama of a hunted animal sensing that the hunters were closing off his escape routes.

“Bibi is a-f-r-a-i-d,” Ehud Barak, the former prime minister who defeated Mr. Netanyahu in 1999 and is angling for another run, wrote on Twitter.

Chemi Shalev, a columnist for the newspaper Haaretz, wrote that Mr. Netanyahu’s belief “that his procedural demand to confront states’ witnesses is worthy of a dramatic prime-time address to the nation is A. Disturbing B. A sign of his escalating hysteria.”

And this is why countless innocent people must die.

It's only 12,000 non-American civilians. Who's got time to care about poor muslims?

Roughly 12,000 civilians have been killed in the US-led airstrikes in Iraq and Syria in four years, a human rights commission said on Saturday.

The Iraqi High Commission for Human Rights said in a statement that coalition forces’ airstrikes killed 11,800 civilians — including 2,300 minors and 1,130 women — in the last four years.

The statement also said that 8,000 civilians have been injured in these airstrikes, calling for an explanation on these figures.

I guess if a woman can be a BernieBro then a Jew can be an anti-Semite.

Why isn't Bibi an anti-Semite? Seems like he's putting Israel in more danger than most other people in the world.

of course

At a White House event on Friday to discuss the proposed Mexico border wall, for which he declared a national emergency, Mr Trump said Shinzo Abe "gave me the most beautiful copy of a letter that he sent to the people who give out a thing called the Nobel Prize.

"He said: 'I have nominated you, respectfully, on behalf of Japan. I am asking them to give you the Nobel Peace Prize."'

I would bet that Israel by now has the capacity to turn against the US militarily. Has anyone ever considered that angle?

@dervish Fact: there are alternatives to Syrian War
Speculation: What the chosen alternative will be, affects the "temperature of the battlefield", which is still called Syria. The heat index, measuring degrees (of senseless) leading to hot war is rising. Perhaps Trump's pull-back will reduce the heat index.

I went down a YouTube rabbit hole and ended up in an unlikely place. In the following video, there are both Christians and Jews who are hoping that the Dome of the Rock gets blown up, torn down, whatever, so that Jesus or the Jewish messiah shows up. Gotta build the new temple first, where that mosque is. It has to go!

The people are saying it, including school boys in a classroom. I don't know how seriously it's all taken, but shit! Disturbing that people in both those camps would like to try to bring on the end of mankind because of religion.

Disclaimer: My eyes glazed over for a bit, about half way through, when he started talking about Game of Freaking Thrones, but started paying attention again after he moved on.

First Russia drops a nuke on Israel. Then planes fall out of the sky because the people driving them have been raptured. Lots of car accidents too because the drivers go missing. Lots of mayhem and then the anti christ rises in the Middle East and reigns for 7 years. This is when people have to start getting a mark if they want to continue living. Then the whole scene moves to Israel and then the fun starts. Didn't get to learn if Jesus comes back and kicks some butt or not because I stopped reading the series. But it's true that many people believe that this is going to happen. They want to make their own timeline though because gawd is taking too long to get their party started.

The Episcopal church at least had C S Lewis, which was a major step up in quality of the proselytizing. At least as appealing to the mythological mind. Left behind reads like the novelization of a Chick Tract mixed in with bible fanfic where the heroes are obnoxious obsequious sycophants who are rewarded... Just ugh...

for the ultimate reckoning that has nothing to do with what two consenting adults do in the privacy of their own homes. In fact, I always imagined that what was important to any omnipotent deity preaching about moral integrity would be measured in our actions. Did we cause harm to others? Did we hurt others? I happen to personally know quite a few feminazifagperverts who possess more moral courage in their actions towards fellow human beings than many Christian friends I know. But maybe that's too secular an interpretation of the holy scriptures.

1 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

Of quoting actual scripture. Having grown up in a secular home, I never did read or study the bible, so I find it particularly interesting that what I "imagined" Jesus believing, he actually did.

Sounds like a good chap.

I don't generally go in much for the Revelation to John, but the people who are interested in the End Times do, so maybe they should pay some attention to this:

And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
