aoeu: Please allow me to introduce myself anew.

I heard about teh GOS at /. within a month of getting crappy broadband in 2008. I lurked there about six months before I had a decent idea for a diary. It had a mistake but I don't regret it.

I've lurked both here and there for a few days and only registered here.

I care for my mother and she is in mid to late stage Alzheimer's. Eight to ten years depending on who is counting.

I've delivered around a million newspapers. Trenton, New York, Chicago, Bloomington, and Indianapolis.

PERSHING was a tab unit and I was lucky to serve ten years in a peacetime army.

I have repaired thousands of cars and light trucks.

I promise not to be a dick here.

Don't fsck with GUS or Pooties. Personally I'm with the Woozles.

This is my first post and I haven't yet figured out how to add either a profile pic or a diary pic.

Neither here will include the vase.

So far this group has been refreshing, especially after the last month over there.

Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.

to add an avatar pic go to: "My Account" in the header banner at the top of the page. Than select "Edit" and it will take you to your user profile where you can upload a pic to our library, and fill out optional fields if you so desire.

There is several ways to embed a pic in a comment or essay:

1-Select the first icon above the editor, it's the "Insert/edit image" icon, enter the URL, width and height (optional), Alt. text (optional), and position (optional), it will align the image to the left or right for text wrapping.

2-Select the "Image" link below the editor, that will open our File Browser where you can upload an image to our library.

3-You can embed an image the old fashion way by using HTML to point to it, either from somewhere on the web or from a image hosting site.

Good to take the time to introduce yourself

You're a man of wealth and taste

you've been around for a long, long year

Stole many a man's soul and faith

were you 'round when Jesus Christ

Had his moment of doubt and pain?

Made damn sure that Pilate

Washed his hands and Left that old place

We're pleased to meet you

Hope we guessed your game

But what's puzzling me

Is the nature of your name.

Now, marinated herring fillets (kilu) on open faced egg sandwiches with rye bread (peenleib) is another story ...

Seriously. One penguin walked around with a 3 foot iron ruler and would smack any student she thought needed "improvement." Given my penchant for thinking rather than reliance on faith, I had bruised hands for a long time. Writing with the devil's hand did not help matters.

I still have a reaction whenever I see a gaggle of nuns approaching.

So he had a Q&A, and promised to give whoever answered the most questions a $5 bill. (This was 1965)

after 10 questions, I was the only one left standing.

So the bishop decided to change the rules (after whispering with the head penguin) and required me to answer another question. Then another, and another, and another, all of which I answered.

Finally, the bishop asked me a question (which I had read a book about just a few days before) which could be answered correctly in two different ways. So, I asked him, "But there are two answers, which one do you want? Both?" He responded, No. Pick one. I did, and of course he claimed it was the wrong one. So he said, "you lost, and you don't get the money."

Even kids in my class thought that was just absolutely unfair. For me, it was SOP by Christian terrorists.

to the Irish Dominican variety of nasty penguins. In elementary school they whacked me with rulers and boxed my ears with erasers full of chalk dust. They expelled in the 10th grade, because I was a heretic and a bad influence on the other girls. I went to an girls exclusive boarding school that my parents stuck my rebellious ass in. I liked arguing in religion class with the sexually repressed Sister Fatima who would lead the class with a morning chant. "What do we Hate girls" and we would shout 'SIN'. I would quote Camus and Alan Watts and argue about how bizarre the holy ascension and all other required leaps of faith were. 'They let me go right away they were very paranoid'. All it did to me was strengthen my leftie rebellious tendencies. These days they disguise them selves with out the medieval garb but I can still tell when a gaggle is approaching or even a single straggler.

The great Orange Satan would react poorly if we started to do well. Whether he is here on his own or on instructions, we should be nice and polite. And welcoming.

You should be happy my responses so far have been as nice and polite as they are.

But, how we behave, compared to that petty, nasty, and autocratic shyteheel who owns that other site, is precisely why this place is so much nicer. Perhaps AEIOU will be aware enough to see the difference, and recognize just how crappy the other place has become. Everyone can learn. Everyone can be a better person. I guess KOS can only be bitter and basically a shithead. People can follow his lead, or they can be far more productive, more rational, and empathic humans.

Don't really understand why you want to be here. You didn't really seem to like many of us when we were at TOP.

But, nevertheless here you are, perhaps we can make a fresh start of it.

P. S. Please don't mess with my tags at Hellraisers, and remember that here at C99 you are not Boss Koss's cop, and maybe we can get along OK.

I knew exactly who aoeu is when I saw his registration, and I approved it. There is nothing here that cannot be read publicly by a non registered user. The only extra info that can be culled is the memberlist and frankly that could be had quite easily by someone using an alias.

If this is a test of how sincere we are in our welcome mat, let's try to pass that test and welcome aoeu as we would any other new member, until proven otherwise.

I whole heartedly agree.

Although, I, too, had trepidations seeing the vowel guy here so soon. I expected him later, as even more victims of the Gross Orange Hammer find their way here. We shall also see if AEIOUY also returns the favor, something that I never saw over there.
