I have no words for the trash pointed to in this OP

So primary season for 2020 has opened, and the first target is Bernie:

Has the fire Berned out?" the Boston Globe's Michael Levenson asks on the front page.

The state of play: "[A]s Sanders weighs another campaign, some say that even as he has moved the Democratic Party ideologically — pushing issues such as Medicare for all, free college tuition, and a $15 minimum wage into the mainstream — the party has moved past him personally."

"I don’t see a lot of lasting energy for Bernie," said Markos Moulitsas, the founder and publisher of Daily Kos. "It’s different from last time when he was the alternative to an unfortunately flawed front-runner ... Right now, the mantle of 'progressive' can be carried by any number of candidates."

Another huge factor in calls for Sanders to stand down: N.Y. Times and Politico reports from women who say they faced sexual harassment and sexism in Sanders' 2016 campaign.

A growing push for Bernie Sanders to sit out 2020

The fax machines have distributed today's talking points. The buzzword of the day is "moved on".

Ahead of 2020, have Democrats "moved on" from Bernie Sanders?

The same zombie lies. The same bullshit conventional wisdom. Little yappy dog, Markos, making sure to bark and wag his tail at the corporatist propaganda.

----

Its not that I'm anxious to give my time to Bernie again, I think he's now a sheepdog, as I've said many times.

But the naked hostility, the constant drumbeat against the man, is sickening. "The mantle of progressive can be carried by many candidates". You mean the fake sheepdog AOC, don't you unsigned editorialist at Axios - quoting an editorialist at the Globe. The completely overblown "sexism" charge is trotted out yet again, while its perfectly fine for a newly elected IdPol person to call Trump a motherf*****. Complete hypocrisy.

Jesus, even though I think the whole thing is rigged, the blatant agenda setting here just makes me want to punch someone. Its time for Bernie to "move on", but Joe Fuking Biden is a front-runner, according to the same conventionally wise-guys? The arrogance burns.

@Anja Geitz how is not getting involved in the suit against the DNC, saying HER won “fair and square” and essentially telling his supporters to get over it help or protecting us?

@Dr. John Carpenter

Do you remember how demoralizing it was to hear him come out and ask us to support the DNC and Hillary's campaign after fighting so hard for him during the primary? After giving his campaign money we didn't have? After battling paid trolls on social media to counter all the lies the DNC and Hillary's campaign were churning out daily? After watching the delegates we sponsored be shut out of the convention so that the DNC and Hillary's campaign could hire "actors" to take their seats and play the role of enthusiastic Hillary supporters?

Definitely not a characteristic of the good shepherd who sleeps along side us and chases the wolves away in my book. More like a shepherd who sleeps alongside us, is captured by the wolves, and comes back to tell us it's in our best interest to work with the wolves because reasons. And then stands by impotently while the wolves eat us alive.

That's how I remember the convention.

Yeah, because reasons. That's all the explanation we ever get these days from TPTB, except for outright lies.

So what part of that do you disagree? The part where he was captured by wolves? The part where he comes back to the flock and tell us we need to support the very people who kicked his ass? Or the part where he stands by impotently and watches them steal our votes and our money?

Re: Russiagate. I'm not surprised that the concept of lying does not register on your integrity meter, but on the issue of TRUST it very much fucking matters.

or, well, actually I think he'd like to train us to attack the coyotes all together, because I genuinely believe that he didn't want it to be about him.

But he can't do it. It's sad and it's not inspiring, but it's true.

The Democratic party committed fraud against him (repeatedly). That hurt his supporters, especially the ones that had donated money they really couldn't afford, badly. He did nothing about it. Do you think it's because he didn't want to? What do you think that phone call to Obama was about? The meeting with Obama and Biden? The meeting with Harry Reid? He was trying to see if the more sensible parts of the Democratic machine, those without direct loyalty to the Clintons, were willing to support him. Clearly, the answer was no.

After that, he did nothing to fight off the coyotes, or, rather, jackals. He did less about the fraud in the primary than Kerry did about the fraud against him in the general in 2004. Why? He met with a threat. FFS, he comes on stage with a large bruise on his face, looking "visibly shaken," and all people can do is say "Pfft! Politicians in America don't get physically intimidated! You conspiracy theorist, you!" Just the same way they did when Harry Reid turned up looking like someone had worked him over, and everyone said "He fell off his exercise machine. Yeah, that makes sense. He couldn't possibly have been roughed up, because..." Because why?

I'm not saying Bernie's a corrupt piece of shit, or a coward--or if that is cowardice, I put it to you that 99% of us are cowards. Who knows what threat was punctuated by giving him a shiner? Wikileaks made it clear that there was such a threat hanging over him. Remember the conversation between Robby Mook and John Podesta:

Don't worry about Bernie. We've got leverage.

"

Great! Where do we stick in the knife?

I sometimes think I'm the only one who sees him as a kind, decent person with a reasonably strong moral core, who basically tripped over his own feet into a direct fight with the Clinton machine, which he never intended; he simply intended to keep certain ideas alive, because he saw the Hillary vs Trump world coming, and understood its implications for human history. He was fighting a battle few people understood, but in fighting that battle, he was so successful that he inevitably ended up mano-a-mano with one of the most vicious and corrupt political organizations this country has ever seen. Like most of us, he wasn't prepared for that fight.

Never thought of intimidation, though.

"Because why?"

Why indeed!

Considering her reaction to what happened to Gaddafi, smacking around an old guy (no disrespect to Bernie) and threatening his grand kids is a no-brainer for Hillary.

like Pelosi, who I think might have been compared in her younger years to what is expressed in an old song from the early sixties by a beloved Berlin singer 'Hildegard Knef' in the old days of my youth:
Für mich soll's rote Rosen regnen (German lyrics)

English translation of German lyrics (a bad one imo, but am too lazy to edit)

I think Bernie wouldn't have accepted nor dreamed of the thousand roses. That is at least something ... So much for that.

of candidates because the word means nothing as used by Moulitsas and his ilk.

Dick Painter, the ethics lawyer of the second Bush administration, just ran a campaign as a "progressive Democrat" because he didn't take corporate cash. Someone with his Rolodex/networking app probably doesn't need to take money from corporations, because there are so many wealthy individuals willing to shell out for him, but, as I was told repeatedly in YouTube comments "He's saying the right things; why don't we give him a chance?"

He didn't resign from the 2nd Bush Administration, you understand. He joined them after they said torture and indefinite detention and assassination were fine.
