Folks, A Proposal, A Statement

I propose, in protest, we go directly to our bedrooms and cut off the "Do Not Remove Under Penalty of the Law" tags from our mattresses and send them to the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Let's strive for at least 25,000 mattress tags that will signify:

  • The over 500,000 homeless that don't have a bed to sleep in every night.
  • The empty hospital beds of the millions who cannot afford health care.
  • The empty beds of military fathers and mothers, sons and daughters that never came home to their families.

Although I'm well aware that it's not illegal for consumers to remove the tags, I ask you, is it any more of a stunt than sending 25,000 roses?

Simple and oh so sweet. Include this list of things with them. I'm in. How do we get others to join us?

@snoopydawg , wait...not that "Me Too." Scratch that. "Ditto". Crap, that one's been used, too. How about, "Great idea, JTC" ... goes to look for scissors.

@snoopydawg
It would probably be a matter of sending the idea to sympathetic websites via their contact links. A large site like commondreans would be a good start. Maybe get some well known writers behind it. Maybe there is a .gov page to get the word out.

I admit the idea just dawned on me a little while ago and I haven't really thought it through much.

Some manufactures (new age foam beds come to mind) will not honor warrantees on your purchase if they're removed. They now call them proof of purchase.
Please send me many thousands of dollars to prove they are wrong. All monetary including bitcoin donations welcome.
Thanks in advance.

This shit is bananas.

so that we can address them directly by name,
and perhaps some bucket warning labels too, for good measure, couldn’t hurt.

@Sirena Remove the warning labels from the plastic bags and give the bags to the Dem establishment and other Hilbots--let them be test monkeys for a new social darwinism experiment.

Tape em to postcards. Or scan and print repeatedly on postcard sheets. Security, you know. Seems they're afraid of envelopes.

...how about sending 25,000 BLANKETS, instead? (Lots of folks have an extra blanket 'round the house. And, it's more practical than sending along a mattress tag, especially considering the season. However, it will require a larger package and more than just a single "Forever" stamp. Just a thought...maybe not a great one...but, a thought, nonetheless.)

Anything to counter the Orange Death, would be great p.r. for this site!!!

By the way, in case anyone's forgotten, the DCCC and Pelosi, et al, are (along with the DNC and the DSCC) Daily Kos' biggest paying customers. As Moulitsas, himself, noted (maybe 10+/- years ago): as Google/Facebook/etc. gobbled up all the online ad revenues back in the late aughts (2000's), DK (following Chris Bowers' guidance/suggestion) started the push to supplant DK's lost ad revenues with email/mailing list sales revenues. (Soon after, they also started co-opting a significant portion of all political fundraising money they were sucking up on behalf of Dem candidates, as well.) So, the DCCC/DSCC/DNC (and their official client "referrerals") are now the biggest (indirect) "contributors"/"clients" to DK, where mailing list sales now account for somewhere around 50%-70% of ALL DK revenue (which is somewhere in the neighborhood of $7mm-$10mm annually, overall, give or take).

So, long story short, it's VERY likely that Kos' chalked the 25,000 roses up as a "client business expense"/gift (writeoff), on top of everything else! Or, as Marky Markos likes to say: "FOR REALZ!!!"

(Why am I feeling nauseous after writing this?)

One of my direct report engineers used to brag that he had never changed a diaper. He was not happy when I called him an asshole and said his wife could do better. The other engineers, men, in the meeting all just nodded in agreement.
