Folks, A Proposal, A Statement
I propose, in protest, we go directly to our bedrooms and cut off the "Do Not Remove Under Penalty of the Law" tags from our mattresses and send them to the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Let's strive for at least 25,000 mattress tags that will signify:
- The over 500,000 homeless that don't have a bed to sleep in every night.
- The empty hospital beds of the millions who cannot afford health care.
- The empty beds of military fathers and mothers, sons and daughters that never came home to their families.
Although I'm well aware that it's not illegal for consumers to remove the tags, I ask you, is it any more of a stunt than sending 25,000 roses?
