Paul Manafort Secretly Met With Julian Assange Multiple Times

Assange will never get the chance to prove that this never happened. Why? Because he is being charged under the Espionage Act which doesn't allow the person to put on a defense. It's Kabuki bullshit and should have never have used in a country that says it is one where it made up of laws.

Paul Manafort Secretly Met With Julian Assange Multiple Times

President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort secretly met with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange on multiple occasions, with the last meeting occurring a few months before WikiLeaks released hacked Democratic National Committee emails in the summer of 2016, The Guardian reported Tuesday.

Manafort met with Assange in 2013, 2015 and “around March 2016,” sources told The Guardian. Trump hired him at the end of March.

The details of the meetings were unknown, and Manafort denied The Guardian’s report.

The Hillbots are happy as pigs in shit and saying that Assange should be charged for releasing the DNC and Her emails.

There is a hearing today in Virginia brought by the someone in the justice department to get the secret indictment against Assange released and we know that his attorneys were not allowed in the embassy last weekend to prepare for this trial.

I SO agree with Rev. Wright!

Just to repeat.

“Remember this day when the Guardian permitted a serial fabricator to totally destroy the paper’s reputation,” Wikileaks tweeted shortly after the publication of the report. “[Wikileaks] is willing to bet the Guardian a million dollars and its editor’s head that Manafort never met Assange.”

Hello Guardian, balls in your court.

The other thing that really bothers me is that MSM et al keep referring to this as a hack - like some entity infiltrated and gained access by nefarious cyber means (see Stuxnet). Stupidly responding to a phishing email is not a hack. It is just stupid.

BTW how's Podesta's brother doing after he desolved his consulting company for conspiring with Ukrainians? Manafort? Mueller? Mueller?

So we are supposed to believe that Mueller just recently found out that Manafort visited Assange multiple times in March, 2016? How can people not see that they are being manipulated and fed pure grade A bullshit? With as many times as we have been lied to including by Robert Mueller who stated unequivocally that Saddam had WMDs?

Does the person who wrote this comment not see how asinine it is for him to believe this?

Yes, the meeting in the Ecuadoran embassy between Manafort and Assange is huge. There’s no legitimate reason for Manafort to be there.

Incidentally, just how fking stupid would Manafort (or arrogant, I recall Manafort’s arrogance in an interview on MSNBC), would Manafort have to be to believe that his entire “good faith” defense in “cooperation” relied upon lying about meeting with Assange at the Ecuadoran Embassy in London!!!

I have to assume that if Mueller and his FBI wanted to, they could pinpoint exactly where I was on that exact same fking day, even though I wasn’t traveling on a passport, not traveling in an international city with more cameras than people, not traveling to a gdamn embassy (!!!) to meet with an internationally famous conspirator, jeezus, the stupidity (or arrogance) really begins to add up on that “dot.”

I soooo hope that Mueller set Trump up with some well-placed diversion lies. I don’t just want Trump ruined, I want him ruined with a trick, I want him ruined knowing he got chumped, one-upp’d, I want him feeling small, cornered, ...silly ….weak. I want that badly.

I would say that the one who is f'cking stupid is the one who believes this.

BTW. The Guardian was caught lying about how Assange tried to arrange slipping out of the embassy and going to Russia because Vlad was going to let him stay there and be room mates with Snowden.

The source for the story sets Manafort’s visit to Assange in March of 2016

The source? That's it? Just the source? Well who is that source and where has he been for over two years while holding on to this information? Good Gawd. America's IQ had slipped big time since Trump was elected.

How millions of American jobs would be created with NAFTA? How repealing Glass-Steagall was good for consumers? How easy defeating the Taliban would be? I’m just saying the corruption and increase of corporate/oligarchic control became much more blatant when Reagan was in ‘control’.)

And Al From/Bill Clinton’s Koch-Brothers-financed, Turd Way, Neo-liberal, center(?)-right, ‘New’ Democratic Party did everything they possibly could to pave the way for the 1% to take control of the our three branches of government. Since then it’s just been a case of 99% of us watching 1% of ‘us’ turning this country into an oligarchy...

Poor old Manafort’s greatest misfortune was that he hooked up with a guy who, though obviously dishonest and disgusting, had the audacity to stand up and criticize policies of the Obama administration and to challenge the Annointed One for the Oval Office. And won.

Someone needs to look at Mueller and all his ‘secret’ agreements and deals. He’s way out of control.

While it's true that Obamacare didn't have assigned doctors BUT if you had a doctor under your old private plan and then switched to an Obamacare plan, especially those under expanded Medicaid, then you lost your doctor because many don't accept Medicaid. In addition, many of the new health insurance plans cut doctors to save money. So people did lose their doctors.

@edg

While I agree that Obama saying the words “you can keep your doctor” when the truth was “this law doesn’t require you to change doctors” left him and the law open to criticism, I think from a rhetorical standpoint it is understandable. To me, calling that a lie is a stretch and basically a talking point, because the intended meaning is clear.

I mean, did anyone actually think the ACA included provisions that compelled all doctors to accept those particular insurance policies?

Anyone can always always potentially “lose your doctor” regardless of what insurance you have.

I know people who’ve had scheduled surgeries cancelled because either the hospital/facility or the surgeon suddenly no longer accepted their (non-ACA) insurance. And some who’ve had to switch doctors because the one they’d been seeing suddenly stopped accepting their insurance. This is not a new problem, nor is it isolated to ACA policies.

Obama can be criticized for his over-simplified rhetoric on it as politically unwise, but I don’t think it belongs on the list of his actual lies. Which is plenty long without that item anyway.

to see the Guardian, a once-great newspaper, descending into this. Also, Amy Goodman on DemocracyNow this morning was repeating the US establishment line that the Russian annexation of Crimea (after a vote) was illegal without mentioning that the overthrow of the Yanukovych government was a coup led by fascists supported by the US. It seems to me that a recent, very effective, tactic of the corporate, imperialist powers that be is to co-opt formerly progressive, or at least sentient and analytical, news sources. Trump is instrumental in this in that he is so obviously bad that many think that anyone who doesn't run about screaming as though one's hair is on fire every time the name Trump is mentioned must be spawn of Satan or Putin (or maybe they are the same). Every bit of crap news that condemns Russia or Trump is accepted with little questioning and it makes the uncritical left so easy to manipulate.

FYI: Amy Goodman sold out a few years ago for $1 million to the Carnagie and Ford Foundations. Since then her show has been hit and miss, but mostly miss. She had a Syrian warlord on her show explaining how this country was trying to save the Syrians from Assad who was killing his citizens. No mention of our country illegally invading Syria and using Al Qaida to help overthrow Assad. Or that we had killed hundreds of thousands of citizens and made many more refugees.

It happens way too often in media. Rachel Maddow is a prime example. I think because producing a polished-looking (a.k.a. "slick") multi-media broadcast is an intense and complicated undertaking, patterns (habits) are developed to make the process easier. (I can lip-sync Goodman's decades-unchanged scripted intro perfectly - and it's not really a "war and peace report" anyhow) Adopting popular memes is easier than de-bunking them, so leaves more time to coordinate show production. The first mistakes are accepting that slick presentations and packaged news "wrap-ups" are necessary to be distributed widely. That may be true, but it's also deadly to free thought.

That's why the best news "shows" today are not highly produced, and usually cover just one subject at a go, without time constraints. I do hope Jimmy Dore sticks with unscripted, open and open-ended discussion and commentary. Same with The Real News Network. And of course, in online "print" news, Consortium News is indispensable, as is The Intercept, though the latter's "big tent" approach occasionally requires a bit of skepticism.

Wikileaks betting ‘$1mn & editor’s head’ against Guardian claims that Manafort met Assange

After the Guardian released an anonymously-sourced report on Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort’s alleged meetings with Julian Assange, Wikileaks says it was asked for comment, but its denial was not included in the article.

This sentence here should have had people asking how the hell they could come to this conclusion:

The article says it’s unknown what the two supposedly discussed, but hints heavily that it was related to Russia’s alleged interference in the election – namely the leak of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) emails. Those documents were “stolen by Russian intelligence officers,” the Guardian claims.

And which is it? Were the emails leaked or were they stolen? Hey. What happened to they were hacked?

(apologizes for the cussing. Mornings are a bitch for me and this news doesn't help)

The article – from lead reporter Luke Harding, who has a long-standing and vicious personal feud with WikiLeaks and is still promoting his book titled “Collusion: How Russia Helped Trump Win the White House” – presents no evidence, documents or other tangible proof to substantiate its claim, and it is deliberately vague on a key point: whether any of these alleged visits happened once Manafort was managing Trump’s campaign.

When I saw Luke Harding's name, I immediately discounted his claims. I do not understand how Harding continues to get any press. Aaron Mate destroyed Harding a while back in an on line video interview.

Then there are the glaring omissions in today’s story. As noted, every guest visiting Assange is logged in through a very intricate security system. While admitting that Manafort was never logged in to the embassy, the Guardian waves this glaring hole away with barely any discussion or attempt to explain it: “Visitors normally register with embassy security guards and show their passports. Sources in Ecuador, however, say Manafort was not logged.”

Why would Manafort visit three times but never be logged in? Why would the Ecuadorian government, led by leftist Rafael Correa, allow life-long right-wing GOP operative Paul Manafort to enter their embassy three times without ever once logging in his visit? The Guardian has no answer. They make no attempt to explain it or even offer theories. They just glide over it, hoping that you won’t notice what a massive hole in the story this omission is.

It’s an especially inexcusable omission for the Guardian not to discuss its significance given that the Guardian itself obtained the Embassy’s visitors logs in May, and – while treating those logs as accurate and reliable – made no mention of Manafort’s inclusion on them. That’s because his name did not appear there (nor, presumably, did Roger Stone’s).

Article updated

Manafort vehemently denies any meeting with Assange or WikiLeaks, issuing a statement on the Guardian’s report that reads:

This story is totally false and deliberately libelous. I have never met Julian Assange or anyone connected to him. I have never been contacted by anyone connected to Wikileaks, either directly or indirectly. I have never reached out to Assange or Wikileaks on any matter. We are considering all legal options against the Guardian who proceeded with this story even after being notified by my representatives that it was false

There is no freaking way anyone would come or go from an embassy without some sort of proof he or she came there. I find it very weird that one of the supposed visits was in 2013, long before Trump decided to run and long before Manafort was planted in the Trump campaign. I also find it weird that it took Mueller nearly two years to discover this fact. I also find it not believable that even IF Manafort visited Assange in the Ecuadoran embassy that there is any proof of "collusion."

Of COURSE Manafort met with Assange, to usurp our democracy! Here's the proof:

Manafort clearly disguised himself as Pamela Anderson! It's so obvious if you look! Oh, and never mind the date 11/2016; Manafort also clearly manipulated the press into believing this transpired in November, but these pics of him in his disguise, really took place "around March 2016." The press and photos were hacked by Russians to reflect November 2016.

Former British diplomat Craig Murray has just written an article debunking the claim that Paul Manafort visited Julian Assange. Link: https://www.craigmurray.org.uk/

A quote from the article:
"The problem with this latest fabrication is that Moreno had already released the visitor logs to the Mueller inquiry. Neither Manafort nor these “Russians” are in the visitor logs.

This is impossible. The visitor logs were not kept by Wikileaks, but by the very strict Ecuadorean security. Nobody was ever admitted without being entered in the logs. The procedure was very thorough. To go in, you had to submit your passport (no other type of document was accepted). A copy of your passport was taken and the passport details entered into the log. Your passport, along with your mobile phone and any other electronic equipment, was retained until you left, along with your bag and coat. I feature in the logs every time I visited.

There were no exceptions. For an exception to be made for Manafort and the “Russians” would have had to be a decision of the Government of Ecuador, not of Wikileaks, and that would be so exceptional the reason for it would surely have been noted in the now leaked supposed Ecuadorean “intelligence report” of the visits. What possible motive would the Ecuadorean government have for facilitating secret unrecorded visits by Paul Manafort? Furthermore it is impossible that the intelligence agency – who were in charge of the security – would not know the identity of these alleged “Russians”.

Russia Gate is here to stay to be pulled out whenever they need to pin something on Russia or anyone who they want to frame. And why not? First line proves my point.

The right wing Ecuadorean government of President Moreno continues to churn out its production line of fake documents regarding Julian Assange, and channel them straight to MI6 mouthpiece Luke Harding of the Guardian.

If Mueller wants a visitors log with Manafort on it or anyone else he's going to get it. I'm seeing articles that say that because Corsi sent an email saying that Wikileaks is going to be releasing some of Hillary's and Podesta's emails that means that he had been in contact with Assange.

I guess no one remembers that Wikileaks told the world that he would be doing that "soon " and before the election. If they want you guilty then they will manufacture the evidence that you are.

The question is why hasn't he? He was going to release the original FISA warrant that the FBI got to spy on the people in Trump campaign starting with Carter Page. There are other documents that he can order released that would blow the lid off of this.

One reason why he hasn't released the FISA warrant was because it shows how the U.K. intelligence agencies were spying on his campaign and the information given to the FBI. Gee. I guess our government doesn't want us to know that a foreign country is spying on us.

I'm coming to the conclusion that Trump is quite willing to play along with Russia Gate because it keeps the country focused on it instead of what congress is doing. To prove this just take a look at the wreck list on ToP any day of the week. I finally saw one that was about the Yemen genocide, but it never made the wreck list and had few comments.
