Putin, Trump, and Hillary: Who is the most unpopular?

Vlad Putin is not a popular guy, but guess what world leader is more disliked.
putintrump.png

However, guess who is even less popular than Trump?

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's favorability with U.S. adults is unchanged from last November -- remaining at a record low (36%).

I read or saw somewhere that Macron was in the 30's last week. People are catching onto his neolib self.

Why does Xi have bad stats I wonder?

And whom did they survey?

@WheninRome

And whom did they survey?

Gallop doesn't care who they poll as it's not a survey. Surveys take way to much time.
I believe in polls like I do the tooth fairy. No proof other than looking under your pillow.
Personally, I have more hope in putin than macron or merkel.

I think you may be looking at the Trump and Clinton favorability poll results timelines by Gallup, which I assume sampled Americans only.

I believe that WheninRome was probably referring to the Pew Research global attitudes survey regarding international leaders. The survey graph indicates that "percentages are medians based on 25 countries". I'm curious myself as to which countries were surveyed.

@Centaurea
EU countries are way over sampled, 10 countries, and the most populous countries in the world, China and India not at all. In Asia they picked the US colonies, Japan, S. Korea, and Australia. It is interesting that some of the lowest ratings for confidence in the US came from Canada and Mexico, countries that know us best. Even still, China and Russia are seen as the most powerful countries in increasing their influence in the world. I suspect that if you sampled by population and include China, India and Pakistan and countries from the ME, not just Israel, that the result would be rather shocking to the Western audience, in regards to Presidents Putin and Xi and Russia and China v. the US.

but unlike Trump, he has a brain. Putin is also a competent leader, judging from the leash he has around Trump's neck.

Hillary is irrelevant. Her popularity would be a lot higher if she hadn't blown a sure thing.

@Pricknick His whole goal is to retain power, steal as much money from the Russian people he can and squirrel it away in international cubbyholes like other mafia misers. Trump, who can go bankrupt running a casino (where the house always wins?), had to grovel for money, and thus Putin need only jerk his nutsack anytime he wants a favor.

They can both go to Hell. Not that I believe in Hell, nor can I say this out loud unless I avoid tall buildings but hey, there you have it. Rule by mafia. Welcome to the 21st century.

@SancheLlewellyn Quite possible, but I'm not sure how Hillary, Macron and Merkel are any less mobsters than Putin, particularly Hillary.

In any case, if Putin is a mobster (an interesting charge given that a lot of Russian mobsters have reason to be fairly pissed off at him, but I admit that mobsters can hate other mobsters), at least he's a mobster that doesn't want to destroy the world. If he's a garden-variety mobster, the people pulling the Clintons' and Bushes' strings are more like Al Capone. A mobster...and crazy. Nothing like a psychopath in charge of a criminal organization.

I guess Macron and Merkel are less like mobsters because they aren't far enough up the totem pole of real power to really count as mafia bosses. I suppose they're more like henchmen.

I'm not sure about either of the things you mentioned in your second sentence. Hillary and her adherents completely "misunderestimated" the degree to which much of the American public detests her.

Maybe she'd be more popular if she'd won, but she might have won if she'd been more popular.

Unfortunately, I guess I have to disagree with your first sentence there, too. She's not irrelevant yet. As long as she has any power over the DNC, and is trotting out to campaign for Dems (eg. Gillum in FL), I think we have to keep an eye on her.

@SancheLlewellyn No it wouldn't. She blew a sure thing in part because she was so unpopular, and had no desire or ability to make herself better liked.

How many times does he have to not let someone else start WW3? Honestly, he's buried Hillary, Theresa May is only still in office until the next election, and Trump is smart enough to realize that WW3 would be bad for business.
BTW, I think it's really telling that May was not even on the list. How far the British have sunk, even trying to start WW3 doesn't make them relevent.

This should make his ratings go further down. Should being the operative word.

What makes it even worse was the number of people who cheered him.

@snoopydawg divide and conquer, isn't it? It is very important to keep the rubes stirred up and at each others throats and this one is working beautifully for our owners.

Most people know that people who commit suicide don't usually shoot themselves twice. Especially when the first shot enters the mouth.

When Mr Knowlton appeared at the grand jury – thinking he was doing his civic duty – he says he was subjected to two and a half hours of character assassination by Mr Kavanaugh. There was little attempt to find out what he knew about the Foster death scene.

Could it be that the witness was distraught and imagined much of this? Possibly. But Mr Knowlton and his lawyer later filed a federal lawsuit against FBI agents he claimed were working for Brett Kavanaugh, alleging witness tampering and a conspiracy to violate his civil rights. This eventually reached the US District Court in Washington DC. The quixotic case was impossible to prove. Yet it was the action of a man who clearly felt wronged. To this day he blames Mr Kavanaugh personally.

I'm sure that most people in congress know about this especially Feinstein. The corruption in this country that is hidden has to be very deep.

I think that's an odd way to do a poll or survey (still don't understand what's the difference).

I believe you would have wildly different results with regards to the Pew poll questions if you would compare the answers among the various countries. So, that mean value I find somewhat not telling you anything.

I believe that folks from various countries and regions have very different reasons to feel 'confident' about another country's leader and I would think one should consider those reasons evaluating their answers and not throw them into one pot of medians. Wink

Do you have more info regarding the Pew polls? Would be nice to know more.
