Judicial Watch sues Justice Dept. for records from Anthony Weiner laptop - Fox News

Judicial Watch has been a treasure trove of information and legal issues swirling around the Clintonista’s failed coup.

Judicial Watch's lawsuit comes following the Justice Department's failure to act on two of the group's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. The group is seeking all records regarding the bureau's probe of Weiner's laptop, records retrieved from that laptop, and all records of communications between FBI officials regarding Clinton's knowledge of "illicit activities" involving Weiner.

"The Anthony Weiner laptop-Clinton email cover-up by the Obama DOJ and FBI is central to uncovering the corrupt politicization of those agencies," Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement Tuesday. "The same FBI that provided cover for Hillary Clinton was going full bore against then-candidate Trump and this lawsuit aims to uncover the full truth about that corruption."

Earlier this year, Fox News obtained text messages between former FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok and his lover, former FBI official Lisa Page, which suggested that as of Sept. 28, 2016, they and former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe were aware of the new emails found on Weiner's laptop during the criminal investigation into his relationship with a minor.

"Got called up to Andy's earlier…hundreds of thousands of emails turned over by Weiner's atty to sdny, includes a ton of material from spouse. Sending team up tomorrow to review…this will never end…," Strzok wrote in a text message to Page

According to testimony released in March from an Office of Special Counsel interview with former Comey Chief of Staff James Rybicki, McCabe's office did not notify him until the night of Oct. 26, 2016 of the need to brief Comey on "something related to mid-year exam," the FBI's case name for the Clinton email investigation

Until a few months ago I had never paid attention to Judicial Watch. They were a ‘conservative’ organization so I avoided them like the plague. Now I go there to find out exactly what kind of shenanigans my ‘liberal’ buddies have been up to.

It’s a crazy damn world out there and it’s getting worse by the day.

I’d wish they would get on that, but I also understand about spreading themselves too thin, so it’ll probably have to be someone else.

Maybe some progressive, “Resistance” type group . . .

That was a joke. Haha. Fat chance.

It's closer to Right vs Wrong. Normative labels usually don't apply in politics - both parties stink - but, this is a cover up of a criminal conspiracy to effect the outcome of a Presidential election at the highest levels of the Justice Dept and FBI. Wrong.

We all have an interest in seeing this one investigated and prosecuted.

@leveymg I was watching a bunch of TV coverage of Nixon’s last days and there was such a parallel to the way the Republicans were acting then and the Democrats are now. Not just the elected folk, but the voters as well. It was all people trying to destroy Nixon and had the word nothingburger been around then, they’d be saying it. There were a R or two who realized this was above partisanship, but they were rare.

As usual, just imagine we were talking about W Bush or Trump or any Republican. The Dems wouldn’t be able to get their hooks in fast enough.

But yeah. It’s beyond politics, as far as I’m concerned.

Idolizing a politician is like believing the stripper really likes you.

@Dr. John Carpenter
It seems that the higher up the corruption goes, the less likely any wrongdoing will be redressed. At the highest levels both Republicans and Democrats will protect each other since they need each other in order to continue their charade of a functional democracy. Corruption and greed transcend both party lines and any sense of responsibility of governing for the benefit of the general population.

Neither the courts or our election system are up to rooting out the corruption that has overtaken our government. The trajectory for our future is clear, and it ain’t pretty.
