At the top is a link to the Center for Citizen's Initiatives website. This organization is about 30 years old. They started visiting Russia and hosting Russian citizens in the United States while it was still the Soviet Union. They have not stopped working for peace and understanding. I am on their mailing list and receive daily reports of their current trip. You can view these reports at the link.

The second event is another effort to bring peace and understanding to the world. I follow several of the speakers listed and will try to view as many lectures as possible.

Hope some of the rest of you will enjoy this information as well.

Cheers!

@mhagle thanks, it's late for me and I shouldn't be talking online but thank you for the sig attribution. I think it's from a farm project I saw somewhere else a long time ago, will look it up tomorrow.

Meanwhile, here's more people doing good things, I hope LaChienHenry sees this too:
Grazing in the Sonoma County Regional Parks for Vegetation Management

There may be drought and wildfires and political despair, but decades after people thought they were gone forever, wildflowers are blossoming again in a corner of Petaluma’s Helen Putnam Park.

It’s been a sheep solution: Carefully controlled grazing has eliminated many of the non-native, invasive plants that were choking out flowers and native grasses.

Not only that, the sheep have created a significant fire break because the same invasive plants that choke out wildflowers are fast-burning fuel for wildfires.

I lived in Petaluma so long, I was there when Helen Putman was mayor. It was when Mary Hartman Mary Hartman was popular on TV, so we called her Mayor Putman Mayor Putman. heh Then, decades later I walked in that park named after her almost every day, it has steep climbs and great views.

good day

We wanted decent healthcare, a living wage and free college.
The Democrats gave us Biden and war instead.

@Azazello

You follow them too? I learned of them at c99, so maybe it was your post.

...and I've written about them in the past here: Do it Yourself Diplomacy. The program sounds as worthwhile as ever, and I'm glad to see the Russia Hoax hasn't cast a shade on it.

Thanks for posting. I'm having trouble with the second link, but I think that's my browser. Especially if it is working for others.

@Pluto's Republic

Where I learned about CCI. Thanks!

I would go if I could. It is important that we share information about their work.
