Identity Politics as a Business Model and the Class Struggle it Blatantly Ignores

At this point, the IdPol crowd may as well support feckless cunts (Yeah, I said it) like Ivanka Trump.
[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sj13ls363_Q]
Why? Because said crowd only pays lip service to the struggles of various groups, be they women, LGBTQ, people of color, etc., these people only ever give a damn about upper class people who happen to belong to any of those groups. It's a business model. This is how they make money.
Let's make it even simpler than that: It's. Capitalism. Capitalism requires an underclass in order to survive. It requires imperialism too which is why these same IdPol morons won't even try to stand up to it. After all, these are the same people that actually said Assad had to go because he's transphobic.
But don't worry everybody, because if they lose, they can just blame Millennials.

Speaking of identity politics, when would an organization
dedicated to equal rights for members of the LGBTQ community NOT endorse an intelligent LGBTQ woman who is running for Governor of New York?
Alternative Answer 1: When the organization cares more about pandering to the establishment than about equality for its members.
Alternative Answer 2: When the candidate runs as a populist Democrat

Stonewall Democrats, too. https://www.advocate.com/politics/2018/7/27/stonewall-democrats-endorse-...
Both organizations cited Cuomo's record on LGBTQ issues. As if a woman who married a woman in 2012 would do worse than Cuomo on LGBTQ issues? Come on, now. Give a reason we cannot snicker at.
Seems as though Cynthia Nixon is going to get the same kind of treatment Sanders got when he ran for POTUS. Meanwhile Democrats of any orientation who endorse Cuomo are saying loud and clear, "We are more about the PTB than we are about equality for members of the LGBTQ community." I cannot regret my donations to HRC when it was fighting for equal marriage, but it will never see another dime from me.
On the bright side, the Working Families Party has endorsed Nixon. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/activist-party-backs-cynthia-nixo...
I am happy to see that it did not endorse either a Republican, as it sometimes has, or an establishment Democrat, as it usually does.On the other hand, NY AFL-CIO has yet again endorsed an establishment Democrat. https://nysaflcio.org/news/nys-afl-cio-endorses-andrew-cuomo-governor (I thought Trumka had a "snootful" of establishment politicians selling out workers? Guess his snoot is big enough for more of the same. https://www.thenation.com/article/afls-trumka-pols-selling-out-workers-i...)
Capitalism fails humanity
...long before it gets a chance to contaminate identity politics.
We are currently in late-stage capitalism, so we are going to see a great deal of political and institutional road kill going forward.
IMAGINE if you woke up the day after a US Presidential Election and headlines around the the world blared, "The Majority of Americans Refused to Vote in US Presidential Election! What Does this Mean?"
Roadkill R Us.
Well, yes.
We are providing the Exhibits since we are the ones who lived through the cannibal years when capitalism consumed the consumer class.
Late-stage begins when consumers are forced to take out personal loans to continue consuming. We all know how that ends up. Pounds of flesh will be taken to bail out the banks we damaged through borrowing. Next generation will be born already strapped to the yoke. Parts of the nation are sold off. The cannibal years.
I don't think it will be allowed to go on that long, though.
IMAGINE if you woke up the day after a US Presidential Election and headlines around the the world blared, "The Majority of Americans Refused to Vote in US Presidential Election! What Does this Mean?"
the right wing does idpol too
But it isn't the opposite of liberal idpol.
Right wing idpol is about jingoism, guns, and religion.
The first two fit under "freedom" but not a freedom you would recognize
Of course. Gotta keep the plebs fighting amongst themselves.
Modern education is little more than toeing the line for the capitalist pigs.
Guerrilla Liberalism won't liberate the US or the world from the iron fist of capital.
Freedumb fer all
For some reason, I'd never considered the right-wing dog-whistles as Identity Politics - but, yeah, that's exactly what it is. Seems the Dems and Repugs are sharing the jingoism these days, with the Dems pulling slightly ahead due to their Russia!!! shtick.
Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose,
but it's free.
Being an "originalist, I usually try not to post covers, but I like Pink. The Joplin version is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXV_QjenbDw Johnny Cash and Bobby McGee himself (Kris Kristoferson) are among those who also covered this song.

once saw a big online argument about
whether "cover" applies to a song performed by the songwriter after it's been released by another artist. my personal opinion is, "no", but there ain't no authority that owns the definition.
Either way, Joplin's version is definitely a cover -- there were 10 previous recordings, including Kristofferson's.

AGCC is happening.
If you cannot accept these facts, I cannot fake an interest in any of your opinions.
Identity Politics as a Business Model
is perfectly exemplified by HRC's corporate donors: https://www.hrc.org/hrc-story/corporate-partners
