John McCain Has Died

McCain Dies At Age 81

Sen. John McCain of Arizona passed away at his home in Arizona on Saturday evening, putting an end to a nearly six-decade-long career in public service.

The 81-year-old senator ultimately succumbed to a battle with a highly malignant form of brain cancer, known as glioblastoma. Fewer than 5 percent of patients live beyond five years of the diagnosis, with a median survival rate of only 18 months. The same form of cancer claimed the lives of former Sen. Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts and Beau Biden, the late son of former Vice President Joe Biden.

Condolences to his family.

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

@snoopydawg , of those in the military. A POW who was against measures beneficial to POW organizations. A pilot who voted against pilot issues. And a candidate daft enough to pick Sarah Palin as a running mate. Sigh.

@snoopydawg sh*t cake that was John McCain. For me, the real John McCain was the war monger who never cared much about sending our military men and women into harm's way.

@peachcreek I'm not at all sad to see J. No Name McCain slide beneath the veil of history. Yet it is no surprise that the elites, even those who loathed him, would sing his praises post-mortem. Dispute about the Senator's singing in the Hanoi Hilton are of wide dissemination, with contrary assertions given by former prison mates on the issue. But J.M. had no problem visiting Syrian rebels and Abu Baker Al-Baghdadi in Syria.

Was there ever a war Cowboy McCain didn't support?

Still hours and hours later, and Johnstone's own site is still down.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence that it goes down now that warmonger McCain has kicked the bucket...

Same as the old Democrats.

A tweet from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez:

John McCain’s legacy represents an unparalleled example of human decency and American service.
As an intern, I learned a lot about the power of humanity in government through his deep friendship with Sen. Kennedy.
He meant so much, to so many. My prayers are with his family.

@snoopydawg Sticking the carcass in the pyramid of power, lying in state like some kind of political saint. Maybe do a world tour in Air Force One. Media's going to love this shit show. Lot's of close-ups of weeping poor, POC veterans. Odd sound bites of the purple majesty, etc.

that we saw with Billy Graham.

I watched McCain in a senate hearing once and he was nothing but nasty to the witnesses. He was a self centered brat Navy boy propped up by dad and granddad who left his wife because she was disfigured in a car crash, married a drug addict with great wealth, hid the record of POW's and MIA's from Vietnam in an attempt to close a door on military secrets, never met a war or hypocrisy on torture that he didn't embrace.

The fawning over him will make me sick for sure. A week in the garden with my monarchs and the news blocked will certainly help.
