I ran into the Devil, babe
He loaned me twenty bills
I spent that night in Utah
In a cave up in the hillsI set out running but I take my time
A friend of the devil is a friend of mine
If I get home before daylight
I just might get some sleep tonight- Jerome J. Garcia / John C. Dawson / Robert C. Hunter -
Day 14 away from the Orwellian cacophony. Natural vistas, music, the sun and the wind stimulate me.
In true cowboy fashion, I planned my layovers around watering holes, the cross roads of life.
I plan to be at a Moab watering hole this weekend. Then meander eastward, back into Colorado. There are a few mountain passes that I want to cross and spend a few nights in the cool high altitude air.
Another night another town.
Rolling along.
Have a great weekend! The thread is OPEN.

you missed a Music, NCTim! :-)
Studio:
Live: (with more actual video, too!)
The two versions are almost completely different tunes, with the timing change etc. I have yet to encounter the studio timing (faster) in live performance.
I say "you missed a Music" because you quoted the lyrics, but didn't post the tune itself! So I did so. I hope you don't mind!
Edit: Bookmarked that second video!

I rode through Bryce Canyon, Escalante Staircase and Capitol Reef today. All I can say is holy cow! Utah 12 from Bryce up to Capitol Reef is fabulous.

Happy trails N! Ever been to
Valley of The Gods BLM between Bluff and Mexican Hat, Utah? Free primitive camping, heavenly scenery.
A truth of the nuclear age/climate change: we can no longer have endless war and survive on this planet. Oh sh*t.

“Thousands” of years rather than “millions” — that’s just being diplomatic; why stir religious controversy and upset people unnecessarily, right?
Rode through today
Unfunking believable! I was giddy all day. Things like Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef and Canyonlands are not isolated instances. They are surrounded by incredible geological formations. The drive from Bryce through Escalante to Capitol Reef was absolutely amazing. Capitol Reef is holy funk. Bryce Canyon too.

What a beautiful area! What striking rock formations! n/t
I free lanced
... going from Cortez, CO to The Grand Canyon. I went up 41, from 160, and came to a T junction with no map or gps out, so I turned left and ended up coming back to 160 through Red Mesa, and decided to keep going to GCNP.

Good to hear you're out of CA and enjoying your trip.
Meanwhile the El Portal area just outside Yosemite is burning...

I've been getting a lot of emails from the emergency alert system there.
Went through Yosemite Wednesday
I pulled out of Oakhurst and was in Mariposa Grove around 7:30 AM. It was clear there. I rode up to Glacier Point and the valley was so smokey, you could not see across. I spent most of my time poking around on Tioga Road.
The road back to Cedar Grove was cool, too.

Good morning, Tim ~~~
Sounds like a beautiful trip for the senses - great sights, sounds, smells. Take it all in.
Hope your trails have been happy.
Have a beautiful day and weekend, everyone!

Beautiful part of the world...
Canyonland and Arches NPs are outside of Moab and as DO suggests south of there is the valley of the gods...all killer scenery. Good travels to you!

Tomorrow
Riding from Capitol Reef area looping south of Canyonlands via Fry Canyon, then up to Needles area, of Canyonlands before landing in Moab. If the timing works, I will dine and then take an evening ride through Arches. Then probably spend Saturday night hanging around the watering hole.

Hey folks! Good morning.
My ride bailed on me last night so no Judo...
And coincidentally I just happened to have a HORRIBLE gout flare up last night to the point I was shaking and had the chills. Never fun. Glad it's over now, And getting better, but I'm propping my foot up again today and trying to stay sane, so forgive me if my responses are a little slow today.
New Logos Is up, and if you've seen my tattoo, you know why I was saving this one for when I REALLY was feeling it.

Hola, compadre! Ride well and safely, great tunes and great mix.

I can feel the stamina, and budget, waning.

Happy trails, Tim
If you wanna get high, go up Bryce Canyon N P. 10,000 ft at the top and the canyon is something you've never seen before. Just amazing eyecandy.
Campground at entrance is affordable and at 7,000 ft.
Take care.

The rodeo is this weekend! A short ride to Bryce. I rode and walked around Bryce, this morning. It is exquisite. The entire day was awe inspiring. Escalante Staircase is incredible, as is Capitol Reef.

In 2009, Gaddafi was worried that *Obama* would be assassinated
Ironic, isn’t it?
Little did Gaddafi know that Obama and Hillary had him in the crosshairs . . .
