He has been claiming he wants to restrain the lynch mobs, but doesn't seem to realize that Gort is the master (reference to the original story that became The Day The Earth Stood Still) and that the extremists have taken over his party.
We are already seeing people show up here (ChemBob, e.g) who have been banhammered and they don't even know why. We can guess, though, that Gort and the extremists interpret any criticism of Hillary Clinton as "malicious" and any suggestion that she might not win the primary, or the general election, as high treason.
Welcome all refugees - there are no banhammers here, and no flag-throwing cliques. Hope you enjoy the relative peace and quiet. (I sure do!)

We know she lies whenever she thinks it will win her a scintilla of political advantage - which is most of the time. This makes her rather worse than the average politician, because most of them will stop to calculate whether the few votes they would gain are worth the many they would lose. She doesn't seem able to stop and make those calculations - it's just zippp, out of her mouth like toads. (See fairy tale, "Toads and Diamonds". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diamonds_and_Toads)
If the primary goes the way they have declared, they are in for a terrible shock in the general. (Possibly a lot sooner, if both parties turn to "general campaigning" before their candidates are officially chosen.)

It's always the innocent and most vulnerable who are hurt first and the most.
When I think about my deep moral--yes, moral--objections to voting for HRC for any position of power and influence, I think about the "least among us" and my privilege and all those things. And I still come out believing that incrementalism will only slightly delay the inevitable and necessary process of collapse and rebuilding. If we had not bailed out the banks but jailed the banksters and intervened for an orderly breakup, the pain would have been large and swift, but we'd have removed that risk and recovered by now. (See, e.g., Iceland.) Instead, we're massively more vulnerable with even more exotic investment mechanisms. It's the bandaid analogy: peel it off sloooowly with less but more prolonged pain, or just let it rip and be done.

It is all about making money for number one. No one is so blind as to see that restricting a clear debate about the next President serves any use except that of those who profit from censorship, which is always those with capital.
No website is going to influence the vast majority of the over-thirty voting public. Every blogger ought to know this.
One hundred forty characters being the profound literature of our age, no one who is not in a small minority of the US population will bother reading blogs. They will still listen to the mass media first and foremost, seeking to make an honest, informed decision does not challenge the convenience of their lifestyle, does not costs them much. It is cheap and it is most everyone.
This media, which controls not only political opinion, but the way we dress, how we speak, our opinions. It limits us. Not with political bias, but with a bias much more insidious, much more far-reaching: the bias of categories of self-indoctrination. That is the great failure of democracy: to prevent the indoctrination of the self. The US media are masters of this.
Others have expressed this opinion but I shall say it again: the owners of some sites are the quintessential US mentality: the "self-made persons," the "entrepreneurs." In other words, the bourgeoisie. In other words, the disposable cogs of the larger apparatus of controlling wealth, thought, education, culture.
Class struggle is the defining force that shapes all modern societies. For some this means struggling out of a class into another, for others it means struggling to end the control of one class over another. Some choose the former, others the latter.
Make no mistake: it is a bait-and-switch, one pretends to build a movement which reflects the neglected interests of the disestablished classes, and then, when trust has been won, abandons them and chooses self-aggrandizement.
It is the dream of the very small person, and the nightmare for everyone else who is waiting for some savior.
Unlike some, I think this pattern remains in place indefinitely. There is no "absolute trajectory" of human history. It continues until there is a way to stop it, and the means to stop it, and the will to stop it.

Markos' actions have never surprised me. When I signed on, 8 years ago, I read his Bio. Immediately noted that he was a reformed former Repukelican. Why? Cos the open minded Army people he served with were Democrats. He was tired of being ridiculed cos of his central American heritage. His political beliefs were never true hardcore lefty Liberal/Progressive. He is a moderate Republican/Democrat. He's got plenty of company! They are not called 'Republican Lite' for nothing!
I read LieparDestin's excellent BNR. That's where I comment. I don't waste my time reading any Turd Way crap. Like everyone else on here, I can smell/spot that stink a mile away. If Markos' hit squad bans me, fine. I've already got the BNR bookmarked and plenty of other sites to visit.
